2019-20 PO: The Path to GLORY!!!

Postby aussiehabit » Sat Jan 07, 2017 5:34 am

Another exciting season has come to an end with the Eastern conference showing their dominance once again. The biggest question will be can an Eastern team bring the Cup to the East? The NJ Devils seems to be the leading contender to bring the Cup back to the East with an impressive 132pt season.

Reminder: Please make sure you dress and play20  Suspensions will kill your Cup hopes!!! =D> =D>
If a team does not follow the above for two games during a playoff series, the team's player with the top icetime will be suspended for two games. The next infraction for the same team will result in the player with the top icetime being suspended for another game, and so on. Suspensions can carry over to the next series.

If the infraction above occurs during Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the game will be resimmed. It is up to the GMs to report such violations to a commissioner.
==============

EASTERN CONFERENCE:
Sens vs Devils- Devils are in for a close on. Hopefully FAT Phil will come to play in the PO, otherwise the Devils might have themselves a series. Key Injs: NJ- Veleno (2wks) Sens - Demers (2wks) NJ in 6 :guns:

Rangers vs Caps - Can the Caps continue to play 3 lines in the PO? Will the King be able to pull off another one for the Rags? Key Injs: Caps - Karlsson (10days) Rags in 6 :juggle:

Leafs vs Bruins - Bruins are too good plus running 3 lines. The great hope once again is just that for the Leafs fans. Disappointment for Eternity!!! Key Injs: Leafs - Keith (day-to-day) Bruins in 5 :check:

Sabres vs Habs - A great matchup, on paper the Sabres should dominate. Mantha's first PO appearance and he's going up against Toews :joy: we come in WAVES :groupwave: Key Injs: Sabres - O'Reilly (IR) Habs in 6

WESTERN CONFERENCE:
Blues vs Avs - Avs are too good. Key Injs: Blues- Allen (10days) Avs in 5

Jets vs Wild - Should be a great series. Jets in 7 :ohyeah:

Preds vs Oilers - Another close series but Oils should prevail. Key Injs: Pred- Josi (1wk) Oils in 6

Flames vs Yotes- Yotes running 2 top lines should get them through.Key Injs: CAL- Bennett (2wks), Yotes- Andersen (IR) Krug (day-to-day) Yotes in 5 :brix:

Eastern Conference:

Sens vs Devils - Sens loaded up a couple seasons ago expecting to break through, but instead it's been the talent infused Devils who have risen to the top. With a legit goaltender between the pipes New Jersey is going to be tough to bring down. Devils in 6

Rangers vs Caps - Two of the top goaltenders in the game square off in round one and only one can move on. King Henrik showed his playoff worth last year though after the cap management mishap the Rangers don't have quite the depth headed into the playoffs that they otherwise would have had. Caps have top end talent to go along with Holtby. I'll take Caps in 6.

Leafs vs Bruins - Bruins breathed a deep sigh of relief after avoiding the Sabres in round 1. Bruins have Rask and a more balanced lineup than the Leafs which should serve them well as the play gets rougher. The Bruins have shortened their bench for much of the season which could catch up to them. The opposition will watch closely to ensure all skaters play each game as the in game coach may elect to shorten the bench even further... Bruins move on in 6, but with an ice time suspension hampering them at the start of round 2.

Sabres vs Habs - Season series couldn't have been tighter, Habs took it 3 games to 2 outscoring the Sabres 17-16 along the way. Sabres are without key player Ryan O'Reilly which has significantly changed the complexion of their team as he was heavily relied upon in the PO's. Still, the Sabres have a very talented lineup if they can find a way to hold the Habs at bay when the 3rd and 4th lines are on the ice. Sabres brass has reportedly testing some interesting lineup options and feel confident in their ability to win in the Molson Centre. Sabres in 6

Blues vs Avs - Blues ownership is said to be pleased that the team squeaked into the playoffs on the final night as the two home games will help pay the bills of this highly priced but underachieving club. That's all their going to get though as the Avs are simply too strong and balanced, especially for the Blues to be without their starting GK. Avs in 4

Jets vs Wild - Wild dominated much of the early season and have the home ice but after the Jets loaded up at the deadline it suddenly doesn't resemble a destitute wild card team. Quick provides steady playoff goaltending while the Penguins Jets are very talented in front of him. Sid has got to be hungry after 0 playoff appearances to start his career. Jets in 6

Preds vs Oilers - Predators were another team that came down to the wire to qualify for the playoffs and are facing a strong Oilers team lead by everyone's favorite baby faced prima donna. Oilers are too talented and have a legit, though old, goaltender in Rinne to backstop the team in the early going. Oilers in 5

Flames vs Yotes - Yotes are masters of getting their top players ample icetime and neither team has a very impressive goaltender. The injury to Bennett is a poor timing for the Flames which could make the difference. Yotes in 7

Eastern Conference:

Sens vs Devils - Sens went to the finals last year and shouldn't be underestimated. However, the Devils had a very strong regular season showing, only potential downside I see is their youth. Devils in 6

Rangers vs Caps - Rangers will go as far as Lundqvist takes them. That said they have depth and experience down the lines. If they can hold off the Caps first line they can pull it off. Rags in 7

Leafs vs Bruins - The leafs appear to be the underdog but they have a hungry, fast skating team. It will be yet another test for Binnigton who looks like he is finally ready. I wanna say Leafs but it's probably going to be the Bruins in 6.

Sabres vs Habs - This is the most interesting matchup of the first round imo. I'm really interested to see how this one unfolds. I'll go with Habs in 7.

Western Conference:

Blues vs Avs

Jets vs Wild - Jets loaded up their lineup but to my surprise their performance didn't improve all that much.Meanwhile, the Wild had a very strong season (first half much better but still) and showed great consistency. I'll go with the Wild in 7

Preds vs Oilers - Oilers depth and quaility of the lineup will prove too much for the Preds, which have a couple of key injuries as well - Edmonton in 4.

Flames vs Yotes - Domi in 5
