PENGUINS-YOTES

Accepted. Didn't really like the term on Dvorak but the extra pick makes it palatable. Couldn't rebuild with Hall causing all that winning.

Buffalo Sabres /// Pittsburgh Penguins

Pens accept. Not what I hoped to get for Maatta, but a solid young D prospect and another kick at the draft can will have to do.

STL - PITT

Accepted. I like Zaits, but he's redundant and I'm desperately close to the cap. Woodcroft looks like a decent young D who may fit well into my system.

Re: Road to the 2019 CUP!!!

West Preds vs Ducks - Pred in 5. Too balanced an offense. Blackhawks vs Stars - Hawks in 7. Depends on the Star's offense though, could be an upset if they deliver. Oils vs Yotes - Oil in 5. Too bad 'bout them injuries. Flames vs Nucks - Flames in 5. Rask. East Canes vs Caps - Canes in 7. Because F...

Bruins are for it. It's one day per week, should be enough time to be prepared, and it'll speed the season along a bit.

Re: Challenge #45 - 1998 NY Islanders - Discussion Thread

Chara wasn't greedy. He was making $2.5 Million and still is because his contract runs through the 09/10 season. I needed two players, a legitimate 1st pairing D-Man and a good defensive or two-way Center and Buffalo had the two I wanted, Green and Nielsen. To make the deal happen I had to move Cha...

Re: Challenge #45 - 1998 NY Islanders - Discussion Thread

Season 9 is in the books and I think I might be pretty bad at this game. So far no Stanley Cups, I just lost to the Jets in 7 games in the first round. The best I've done so far was making the Eastern Finals in season 6. Winning is heavily dependent upon tactics I find - there's a few good ones (Sh...

Re: Challenge #45 - 1998 NY Islanders - Discussion Thread

No thanks. I don't want to deal with another player revolt after dropping a Key player to Core status. Besides, I think trying to replace the players who leave is half the fun. I did eventually make a couple of trades which fixed my problems and everything is running good, I even shed some cap room...

Re: Challenge #45 - 1998 NY Islanders - Discussion Thread

smart one! You do that the entire last contract season ? Yes, with rare exceptions - I'm happy to give Ziggy Palffy whatever money he desires, for instance, because I can't bear to intentionally water-down a 60 goal scorer (I'm not Barry Trotz). Bona Fide #1 goaltenders are the other - I'll give yo...

Re: Challenge #45 - 1998 NY Islanders - Discussion Thread

I lost Reichel too. He had two great seasons and wasn't interested in signing a new deal. He ended up with Carolina, they gave him $6 Million per year which I never could have given him anyway so good luck to him. My PP is really missing him right now. I'm almost done with season 6 Q1 and my PP% is...

Re: Challenge #45 - 1998 NY Islanders - Discussion Thread

I also scout the colleges when I'm looking for someone to be a bottom 6 guy, either a pick if possible or as a UFA, there are some decent finds there if you're willing to look.. Thanks for the tip man... I haven't looked there much actually. I always seem to have a couple scouts not really returnin...
