Re: Challenge 24 Interest

I wanted to play as Seattle and the Swift Current team was just so bad I didn't have any interest in playing with the team. I have continued my Challenge 23 team until the 5 season and I will keep going with it. I know it might be too much to ask, but the Red Wings for Challenge 25 would be interest...

I took Hampus late in the draft too.. He's a solid player in my game as well, but he needs an upgrade as he just went in the 1st round of the NHL draft.. not the 6th like in my game. haha

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

I wish this challenge was going for two more months.. I finally finished season 2 and our team toughed out a cup win. We went 7 games in the conference finals against the Kings.. but we swept the Devils in the cup finals. All without Mason for 7 games of the playoffs. I am going to continue this cha...

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

I was in 3rd halfway through the season in a very tight Central Division race, but the team really hit a wall and we took a downward dive from then on. I completely overhauled my line-up and my tactics to fix the team's problem.. it worked. I dropped Dorsett to the AHL and I won't be resigning him w...

As most of you know by now.. The EA NHL series is nothing more than a glorified arcade game compared to ehm in terms of their be a gm mode.

Re: Manimal Rosters 2011-2012; Mistakes, omissions, tweaks e

No offense bestrafer...Seattle is really not very good. And just miss the playoffs? Dude...they had the #1 pick in the draft this year by winning the draft lottery. I believe they were the third worst team in the league even with Pickard in net. Seattle is not very good, but that is why the challen...

Re: Manimal Rosters 2011-2012; Mistakes, omissions, tweaks e

Seattle has some good young talent, but they couldn't put everything together to get the final wins they needed to get in the playoffs. As for the WHL Challenge.. Seattle is perfect.. They just lost the best goalie in WHL history.. Calvin Pickard and they have the #1 overall pick in the Bantam Draft...

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

While, I'm really pleased with the acquisition of Ladd, I'm really missing what Umberger brought to the team. He was a physical and defensive element while also adding offense to my third line. I supposed Ladd could do that as well but I just don't feel right now having his on one of my top 2 lines...

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

I have finally found some time to play.. Rick Nash went down before the seasons started, but it didn't matter.. my team has gone 13-3-4 through the first 20 games. My tactics are near flawless at this point with my goal differential being +24 goals where it was barely +3 goals at this point last sea...

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

As far as drafting goes. I almost always draft BPA, for the simple reason that I don't intend to rush players into the NHL, unless they can handle it. Second season draft is always atrocious, and I'll be lucky if I get any nhlers out of it. First season was ok, I might end up with a couple kids. Th...

I've notice in my game that Calvert plays better with more minutes and my team couldn't give him the 22+ minutes like he is playing in the AHL.

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

I made my trade in the offseason, I picked up Steve Ott for some added grit and two-way play.. I believe I got a steal as I really didn't like Cam Atkinson. In past games, he has never developed to his full potential, and I won't miss him. I couldn't get an adequate free agent so I will test the wai...

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

I finally finished season one and I can say even though we were bounced by the Kings in 5, we had a very successful season having two separate injuries to Mason during the season. We ended up with the 16th pick in the NHL Entry Draft and I was pretty happy with this year's class. And now for my favo...

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

Well season 2 is in the books, and we finished first overall with a Stanley Cup. Rick Nash was pure beast this year. He posted 122 points and 63 goals. Jack Johnson made first team all star. Steve Mason took home the Crozier sv. pct award as well as the Vezina. The draft this year was horrid. I'll ...

I finished my first ten games of season one 4-6. Not horrible, but I've got some serious problems. I have six players hurt right now: Umberger, Bass, Brassard, Gillies, A. Johnson, and Martinek. Jack Johnson is playing horribly and has been suspended twice for misconduct. (I gave him an official wa...

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

Well I made my trade for the season. I started making offers on July 1st, trying to get a deal done before the July 15th cutoff. One of my offers was accepted immediately and I took it. We sent Fedor Tyutin to the New Jersey Devils for Travis Zajac. Tyutin was a pretty good 2-way defenseman for us ...

Re: Challenge 23 : The Columbus Blue Jackets

On the bright side atleast with the fail you have a chance for Nail. Though I'm rather curious in my game Grigorienko(sp) went 1st overall. This is the first time I've ever seen that happen. Normally he doesn't crack the top 5. I once was able to steal him at 12th. I guess it is more realistic to h...
