Well last season I was 29th but finished 20th. Hopefully I can move up from 22nd to around 15th/16th.

To be honest, you don't really need a file to run your practices. It's really easy to change and rename them in the game. Most of us that have been playing a long time have modified Malhotra's practice system to one that fits our needs. It is a great place to start though.

Well take over the team and get your roster thinned down. You don't really need more than 40 contracted players in the NHL and ECHL.

I'm pretty sure you're guys will still develop well, so if you are otherwise happy with the team, I'd just stick with them.

It has to be done with the pregame editor. The AHL expanded to 30 teams, one for each NHL team. In order to keep them all, they decided to put several teams in the ECHL instead.
