Would absolutely HATE to see Toronto beat Boston. Thank god they won't.

canucks losing their jobsL

1. Vigneault
2. Edler
3. Luongo
4. Burrows
5. Raymond
6. Ballard
7. Alberts
8. Booth--I think he is UFA but did not check,..if not they dump him for nothing.
9 Roy UFA wants too much money

Some of those are UFA and will be gone. Others are going to be traded. Maybe by Gillis...maybe by a replacement for Gillis. Buy out for Ballard.

--Sedin twins--Are UFA after next season. There is no team that can take them on at the start of the season. Should the Canucks be showing nothing and have no chance to be winning at the trade deadline...they will be moved then.

REBUILD time..but with the assets they have the rebuild could be really quick. Burr will get a player and a good pick, Edler will get a very strong top 6 forward, and a high pick (See what all point producing dmen get), Luongo will get 2nd rounders, Raymond 3rd rounder or bottom 6 forward with potential,

So the Canucks with those moves could totally retool their team for another shot at things, or could go young and take picks and prospects for the guys and go total rebuild. IF they go total rebuild (either under Gillis or new GM if Mike and ownership have any more issues--Owner wanted AV canned last year....if their are issues again this summer, then Mike will resign and a new GM will come in. No idea who though. Cough Burke Cough

I could see a Canucks line up look like this

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
playmaker from Burr or Edler trade -Kesler- power forward type guy from Edler Trade or Burrows trade
Higgins-Schroeder or guy from Raymond or Luongo deals-Hansen
Sestito-Lapierre-Anybody

Hamhuis-Garrison
Guy from Raymond deal (or Burrows or Edler)-Bieksa
Someone they sign-Tanev

Schneider
Lack

There is a chance that the guys they get in Edler and Burrows deals allows the Canucks to make Sedin line the 2nd line. However...that is not that likely. would likely have to package the two together to make that happen....and even then would only get one top 3 forward with tons of playmaking and scoring ability.

I think most of your prediction could be right and while you didn't put Gillis on your list you did mention him.... I think he's gone too. Edler... hmmmm not so sure on him, might be Bieksa instead. Booth will probably be a buy out as he's got 2 more years? I also think its 50-50 as to which goalie goes but I'm thinking Schneider as he's more tradeable and Lou's deal alone isn't a killer. Burrows might also stay but much depends on who is the GM. I'd add Higgins to the list as well as Schroeder but it will be an interesting off season. If it's not interesting next year will be a writeoff as well as many years to come IMHO. This team cannot win and will never win anything but regular season as it is currently built. Sedins might be the biggest stumbling block but are they even tradeable? And by the way, I trhink Kesler should be the captain if he's still here next year.

Will not be Bieksa..right hand shot issue. Edler brings more as well.

Booth will not be bought out until next season, so guess stuck with him one more year.

Scheider will stay. It is 100% Roberto going. Absolutely. You ask for a trade you are gone. Window is closed, and have to rebuild with Cory in net.

Burrows is one who has to go...value is higher than it will be after another poor season. Should have been dealt last season (I hate to say it...but it should have happened)
Higgins just resigned...not trading him. No way no how...at least not til deadline if out of it.

Sedins are UFA after next year...so either deal em at deadline, or lose em as UFA. They are tradeable...very tradeable just not til deadline with contracts.

Kesler is not necessarily well liked by some of the guys. That is why he did not get the C last time. Need to have a change but not in captain at this point. Kesler will not go anywhere I do not think...he will not fetch on the market what the Canucks would ask for. BEcause he is a solo artist. He has a bit of a me first attitude that otehr teams see, but the Canucks will still expect too much for him in a deal. SO like Booth...he will be here.

Ballard will get the no penalty buyout this season. Booth next season.

Is Edler now that bad? I thought he was a decent d-men for the Nucks and probably the best of the team. :-?

Since his back injury Edler has not been the same. He had a few good games this year but the rest were to put it nicely, not very good. Maybe he will bounce back, maybe not. Hard to predict injury rehabs and results. Took Raymond 2 years and then he's fizzled anyway after a pretty good regular season.

YOu mean after a pretty good start to the season. Raymond has done ZERO for over a month now. Maybe two.

Edler is inconsistent. IMHO he has not ever and never should have been considered a top 2 dman. He is a decent #3 but is not a top 2 guy...Canucks have pretended or incorrectly believe he is. But he is a guy who around the league has a ton of value. Lots overrate him.

Edit: Albe....Abelka...that dude from Detroit will probably get suspended for his hit on Lydman.
The Wings/Ducks series is ugly. The Wings are a young, horribly-inconsistent team with no experienced puck-movers on their back end. The Ducks just seem to play very flat and even disinterested most of the time. It's kinda' a boring series to watch even when your team is in it. 3 of 4 games have been pretty close but... the play is just not good. Even if the Ducks can win this series, they seem to have no killer instinct at all or else they'd have rolled right over the Wings and I don't expect they'd do anything other than get mauled in the next round. DET is incredibly inexperienced and I really have no idea how they're hanging in there. Watching LA/STL and CHI/MIN I think both of those series' have much better pace, flow, and control.

Abdelkader deserved a suspension. I called 2 games and that's what it ended up being. Wings fans are outraged that Brown and the guy on the Habs whom I'm drawing a blank on now get nothing for throwing blatant elbows, and White gets nothing for a vicious two-handed slash... but I'm a realist and just because the NHL blows some of the calls doesn't mean they need to or should just blow them all.

BTW, DET fans call him "Abby", or now "Piano" because Datsyuk has said Abdelkader "moves the piano" so the virtuosos can do their work on it.

Well at least the period I watched was good haha Especially after the hit, the Ducks woke up. Arbitration sucks? Nothing new unfortunately. Habs/Sens series is full of dirty hits, I'm not surprised that White got nothing since the Sens were beating the hell out of the Habs in all situation, maybe the ref let that one go for that. As for the elbow from an Habs players I probably missed that part of the game that doesn't come to my mind.

The Islanders are holding the Pens 5-4 with 8 minutes left to the third! This series isn't for goalies, good Fleury sucks.

I've been watching, and for me the Penguins/Islanders series has been by far the most enjoyable

I didn't watched any game but Fleury seemed to be really mad after the game, that guy is so over rated IMO. He never did THAT well in playoffs.

Price as been pulled out for the OT against Ottawa, he's injured. They lost Prust too.

Edit: Lost in OT. Ottawa leads 3-1, good bye MTL in 6 maybe, I expect them to win at home....ohhh what the hell, they're gonna lose in 5. My prediction was way off the chart. :-D

Vokoun starting next game for Penguins.

And in the most interesting thing of the day...... Eddie Lack will start the next game for the Canucks. :-D

Daniel Sedin finally hits someone...and it ends the series. LOL

Phagoof is such an ass. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Who the hell pinches like that in OT with the hottest line your opponent has to offer on the ice ?!
And the Rags have actually tied it.

That call was BS

But whatever, with the way this team was playing throughout the series, it wasn't going to make it out alive. Even if the officiating was consistent and wasn't one sided for the majority of the series.

My #1 team, the Habs, look to be out in a game or two.
My #2 team, the Canucks, are out (glad they got swept - bring on the house cleaning!)
My #3 team, the Red Wings, just lost, and I don't have much hope for them.

All I have left to care about now is to hope the Leafs manage to beat the Booins, and that the Islanders can beat the Pens. After those two, the only ones I wouldn't mind seeing win the Cup is the Sharks.

The Sharks won't win the cup. Most of their production comes from the powerplay, which will be the primary focus of their second round opponent. If the opposition can stop their powerplay, the Sharks are done in four or five.

I didn't say they would, just that I wouldn't mind if they did. I'm not a fan of theirs but I do have a bit of a soft spot for them, having been at their very first reg season game at Pacific Coliseum (ex-Canuck Craig Coxe scored their first-ever goal).

Sharks are a good team. It just did not show last series because Vancouver was soooooo bad. Penalty was a call the officials have made all year. Not saying right call..just saying it was a call Daniel should have expected.

Sharks likely won't win cup...but they are a lot better team than Vancouver fans are giving them credit for. Logan Couture is a stud right now.

La-stl -will anyone be alive after this series ends?

Never ever write off the Dead Things until they have actually lost 4 playoff games in a round.

Rangers going to win series and then ...oh vay ...the Cup.

Yeah the young defense got exposed again last night, despite Howard playing ridiculous. Quincey is consistently terrible, Kindl is up and down, Smith is up and down, Lahsoff is just in over his head and shouldn't be having to play in the playoffs (Wings fans are bashing him but the act is he's done quite well for having no business playing this time of year). However, once again only 2 goals for DET.

3 goals is the magic number for DET. They very, very rarely lose if they score 3. If they don't, they basically always lose. I know that's not an unusual thing necessarily, but DET has statistically taken it to an extreme this year. So last night they had 2 or 3 hit pipes, a Brunner breakaway that didn't get converted, Zetterberg missing an open net... any of that would have made OT unnecessary.

DET fans are really down today because they have to win the next two, but the way ANA is playing (kinda' lazy to be honest, and careless with the puck as well as penalty-wise) I wouldn't count DET out just yet with Game 6 in Detroit. The entire series has been one period at a time, with a different feel and flow to each one.

For all the talk about Vancouver's window closing, I can't believe more aren't talking about about San Jose's window closing. They have had so many chances and they're about to be out...

Habs season will be over tonight they don't even have Price in the starting line-up and half of their offense is injured. Galchenyuk is already one of the best player of the Habs and Therrien made him play barely 10-12 minutes last game.

I hate to see the Kings coming back, hope the Blues will win the next one.

Rags taking the Cup? Doubt so, especially if it's against Chicago.

I've barely watched any NHL this year :o, I have seen a few games but not a whole load to shout about, most of my viewing has been on NHL tonight, will try catch as much of the play-off games as I can though.

Think the Bruins have a decent shout at the Cup again this year, hopefully we will win tomorrow night to run out comfortably series winners, as if we lose, Toronto could easily go on to win the next two, so hopefully I'll not have that worry. Luckily I don't have anything to get up for on Saturday so I'll be able to watch game 5 on Premier Sports.

Yeah, the Sharks obviously were a much better team than the Canucks. However 5 on 5, I thought both teams were evenly matched. Special Teams was the deciding factor and the Sharks' Special Teams unit was far better. But I don't see the Sharks making it passed the second round, especially if they run into STL or CHI.

And as expected the Habs are out, I think the Sens will make it to the Conference finals.
