Season summary

It's a disappointing season that Columbus Blue Jackets leaves behind them. We showed our intentions early with acquisition the of Sidney Crosby. The season started fairly well and we were in a playoff spot a few weeks into the season. Something happened to the team mid-season. Our top goalscorer, Kevin Fiala who had almost a goal per game the first 25 games of the season, suddenly disappeared. This is where we showed our lack of depth on the roster. Before the season, we changed our bottom 6 in a more offensive minded. We brought in depth centers Patrick Shea and Joseph Gareffa to help us get more production out of the 3rd and 4th line but it obviously did not work as well as we wanted. When we were out of the playoff race, GM William Karlsson decide to make a few changes after a meeting with the board. Mitch Marner got acquired from Toronto Maple Leafs and head coach John Tortorella changed his tactics. This changes had a positive effect on the roster and we ended the season in a great way.

Best goalscorer: Kevin Fiala, 42 goals
Most assists: Nolan Patrick, 48 assists
Most points: Kevin Fiala, 84 points (42+42)
Most goals by a rookie: Joseph Gareffa, 15 goals
Most assists by a rookie: Patrick Shea, 17 assists
Most points by a rookie: Joseph Gareffa, 31 points (16+15)
