Eastern Conference Team Analysis

Post by aussiehabit » Wed Feb 10, 2016 1:44 am

Well it's time for Vic's skewed reviews. Here's my take on the Eastern teams and how are they doing so far this season. Debate away...

[th]Current Standing[/th][th]Team[/th][th]Goaltending[/th][th]Defence[/th][th]Offence[/th][th]GM Rating[/th][th]Key to Winning[/th][th]Analysis[/th]

14ImageB-B-C+**Beat your opponents upA ruggged team with emphasis on physicality over finess. The team is in rebuilding mode so look for them to further trade what assets they have left. A few years of rebuilding.

8ImageB+B+B****Grind you down and win tight gamesGM Greg has this middle of the pack team performing well. Team focused on their 2way play and pick their spot to score. PP is effective to give them the edge on their opponents. PK needs a bit of work but that could be to the Goaltending.

1ImageA+B+A-****Balanced attack with great GoaltendingGoaltending is the key to the Habs' success so far. Their offensive output is balanced throughout the 4 lines. Getting optimal performances from unlikely players. Great depth.

9ImageABA***Many offensive game changers to beat youTheir record so far is not reflective of this team's true power. Offensively blessed with many options, they can take over a game at any time. Whether their GM have them playing at their best is the other question.

5ImageB+BB+***Key players to perform betterA good team in transition. Aging key veterans are slowing down so the young core will need to step up to take over the identity of the team. Consistency is their biggest challenge.

11ImageB+BB-***Need to find elite player to carry the team.A team trying to find their identity. Many young promising players but you can't win on potential. They need to improve their development potential to live up to their GM's expectation or this team will continues to be inconsistent.

6ImageA-B+A-****Enough talents to beat anyoneA good offensively gifted team but struggled early on in the season. Have improved a lot lately and the record shows their strengths in the 2nd half. Very dangerous team.

2ImageAA-B+****A hardworking team that can beat you many waysBlessed with stellar goaltending from Lundqvist and a strong D corp. This team can battle it out with anyone in the East come PO time.

3ImageAB+A-*****Balanced attack with good goaltendingThey are not the most talented group but they perform exceptionally well. Offensive contribution up and down the 4 lines. Can they continue this in the PO?

13ImageA-BA-**Need to be more consistentA strong team hiding behind a mediocre record. They can't seem to find the right tactics to take advantage of the key players. Need to keep trying and find that magic formula

12ImageA-B+B+***Need the Blue-chippers to start playingThis team is built for the future, their GM has a plan and though they are inconsistent now. Look out in the next few years for them to start taking revenge on the rest of the East.

10ImageB+BB+***ConsistencyIsles are a strong team with JT carrying the team as he should. Need more consistency and stronger presence on the bottom lines.

16ImageC+B-B-*Winning game is far and fewThe team is not very good and lack of direction from their GM is really showing through. This team will be in for a long rebuild.

15ImageC-CCno ratingLottery WinningThe arrival of a their new GM will be a positive step for this franchise. Careful drafting and development will be needed for this team to be competitive in a few season.

7ImageA-B+B+****Competitive and consistentTheir GM has found a way for this hardworking team to be able to compete every night. They are probably the most consistent performing team in all facets of the game. PK is very impressive.

4ImageA-BB****Offensively focusedThis team is focused on capitalizing on offensive opportunities. Their shoot first defense later is what makes them dangerous. If you can neutralize their attack then they are not as scary.

Hej , just because the old Devisl GM was an Wayne-Gretzky-hole doesnt mean he was that bad, Devils have some good pieces (2 great picks and many more , some nice prospects, some very useful vets in Read, Dubinsky, Dawes,Callahan, Stemp, Howard can onyl improve too) in place and will be fine sooner than expected. Good luck.

No rating - For the Devil meaning that they have a new GM so we don't know how the team will perform yet. The assessment for the team is the current roster. Darft picks and future prospects were not taken into account.
