Eastern Conference Playoffs
Tampa Bay Lightning V Montreal Canadiens - Habs in 6 (because of Price)
Boston Bruins V Florida Panthers - Panthers in 6 (they've been a strong team from start to finish this year)
Red Wings V Rangers - Rangers in 5 (because of Lundqvist, and I think it took to much out of the Wings just to make the playoffs)
Columbus Blue Jackets V Washington Capitals - Capitals in 7 (could go either way)

Western Conference Playoffs
Anaheim Ducks V St. Louis Blues - Blues in 5 (Blues have been strong all year)
Chicago Blackhawks V Nashville Predators - Blackhawks in 6 (playoff experience)
Minnesota Wild V Los Angeles Kings - Wild in 5 (nothing against the Kings, just the Wild have been the hottest team down the stretch!)
Arizona Coyotes V Edmonton Oilers - Oilers in 7 (I hope so! need Nilsson to play well, and the PK to be strong)

Those are my guesses predictions

Eastern Conference Playoffs
Tampa Bay Lightning V Montreal Canadiens - Bolts have a chance, but Price will probably be too much for them. MTL in 6
Boston Bruins V Florida Panthers - I wont say who will win, think it should be a long series.
Red Wings V Rangers - Rangers have been a great team through the season (and they have Lundqvist), meanwhile DET has been inconsistent. NYR in 6.
Columbus Blue Jackets V Washington Capitals - CBJ is a good team but the Caps have been great as of late and have a better goal differential. WSH in 5

Western Conference Playoffs
Anaheim Ducks V St. Louis Blues - Blues are so good, Ducks have a chance (if everything goes perfect for them). STL in 6
Chicago Blackhawks V Nashville Predators - Anything could happen here. NSH has been doing better lately. NSH in 7
Minnesota Wild V Los Angeles Kings - Wild are one of the hottest team in the league, but Kings' playoff performance should be great. LAK in 5
Arizona Coyotes V Edmonton Oilers - Tough call. I'll give a slight edge to Edmonton (Duclair injury might be the difference). EDM in 7.

STL v ANA - Anaheim has the goods for an upset, but the Blues are a powerhouse for a reason. STL in 6
LAK v MIN - I haven't seen a lot of moves from either team this season. Minnesota is good enough to steal a game or two. LAK in 5
NAS v CHI - Can Nashville score goals? No, probably not. But they do basically everything else. CHI in 7
EDM v ARI - Edmonton's forwards versus Arizona's defense (and goaltending). ARI in 6

MTL v TB - The fact that Tampa Bay is even here is miraculous. I think they surprise... and last longer. MTL in 7
NYR v DET - New York is good and has been kind of forgotten in all the Atlantic-hype. NYR in 5
FLA v BOS - This shouldn't be a contest as Florida is deeper in most spots, but Boston's special teams are better and they have had a crazy 2nd half. BOS in 7
WAS v CBJ - Columbus has a deep roster, but Washington's key players are some of the world's best. Holtby and Ovie make the difference here. WAS in 6

Eastern Conference Playoffs

#8 Tampa Bay Lightning V #1 Montreal Canadiens

The season series between these two was remarkably close but came out slightly in favor of the Habs. Price is the best goalie in the league and this could prove the difference in what I'm guessing is going to be a long series. While both teams are pretty close on the road, the Habs have a much bigger home ice advantage. I'll go with the stronger goalie. Habs in 6

#4 Boston Bruins V #3 Florida Panthers

Bruins are the best team in the East on the road and they'll need to be if they want to take this series from the surprisingly strong Cats. Who'd have thought that Bruin Stalwart Lucic would be back to terrorize his old pals after a brief stint in the Western conference. Another long series but I'm going to pick the upset as Bruins roster is more playoff tested than the young Panthers who may be a year or two ahead of schedule. Plus... we've all seen how Luongo fairs in the big games! Bruins in 7

#7 Red Wings V #2 Rangers

After a mid season swoon the Wings are just happy to be in the playoffs but it'll be a short stint vs. a strong and experienced Ranger squad. Lundqvist vs. Mrazek may be one of the bigger mismatches this postseason. Rangers in 5

#6 Columbus Blue Jackets V #5 Washington Capitals

Possibly the most balanced series in the East. Caps have a strong advantage on special teams though and this could be the big difference. Will be interesting to watch how AO and Holtby respond in the playoffs. Caps in 7

Western Conference Playoffs

#8 Anaheim Ducks V #1 St. Louis Blues

Ducks succeeded in backdooring their way into the playoffs and will be an easy out for a Blues squad who's only achilles heal may be their goaltending. Blues in 4

#4 Chicago Blackhawks V #3 Nashville Predators

Yowszers, two very strong teams. Neither team seems to have much of an advantage in any area home vs. road, PP vs. PK, it's all pretty balanced. So I'm going to go with the Hawks scoring depth. Hawks in 7

Minnesota Wild V Los Angeles Kings

Luka has come on board right as the playoffs begin and he faces an insurmountable task as he figures his way around the new tactics. Kings are too strong an opponent to try and jump in with. Kings in 5

#6 Arizona Coyotes V #5 Edmonton Oilers

Two teams that are ahead of schedule. Not sure that I trust either beyond this round but this was about the best matchup either team could ask for which will help their young teams earn valuable playoff experience. Yotes have been hot recently. I'll give them the nod clinching at home. Yotes in 6

Eastern Conference Playoffs:
Lightning vs Canadiens: Upstart Lightning will try to solve Price. Won't be easy. Habs in 5 Games
Bruins vs Panthers: Great series. Going out on a limb and bet on the underdog. Bruins in 7 Games
Red Wings vs Rangers: Wings are playing well so it will be a good series but goaltending will be key. Rangers in 5 Games
Blue Jackets vs Capitals: Another good series. Capitals in 7 Games

Western Conference Playoffs:
Ducks vs Blues: Should be a good series with Blues edging ahead. Blues in 5 Games
Blackhawks vs Predators: Hawks should win this one but it will depends on how well their GM set them up. Blackhawks in 6 Games
Wild vs Kings: Kings are too experienced for the Wild. Kings in 5 Games
Coyotes vs Oilers: I like the Yotes experience a little better. Great learnings for the young Oils though. Coyotes in 7 Games

Eastern Conference Semi-finals:

Canadiens vs. Bruins

Possibly the two best goaltenders meet up in round 2 after both teams looked impressive in their first round matchups. Montreal had a great regular season but I am concerned how their smaller more fragile team is going to hold up against the bashing Bruins. Rask and Price battle to a draw and the Bruins stronger on ice play carries them to a win. Bruins in 6

Rangers vs. Capitals

Another two excellent goalies, Holtby has been absolutely on fire! Both teams have the pedigree though neither has been capable of claiming the cup. Caps have a minor injury that could affect their secondary scoring, but AO's playing like a Conn Smythe winner and he's not even putting pucks in the net yet. Capitals in 6

Western Conference Playoffs:

Blues vs. Blackhawks

Blackhawks are just too deep with talent. Getting Statsny back certainly helps the Blues but too many questions remain about their goaltending to favor them against a juggernaut Hawks squad. Blackhawks in 5

Wild vs. Coyotes

Yotes took the season series pretty handily but that was before Luka took over at the start of the playoffs. I'll choose to believe in the magic for one more round. Yotes in 7

Eastern Conference Semi-Final Predictions:

Canadiens vs. Bruins: Habs in 4
Someone's luck is going to run out.

Rangers vs. Capitals: Caps in 6
Rangers showed some weaknesses that the Capitals can exploit.

Western Conference Semi-Final Predictions
Blues vs. Blackhawks: Hawks in 6
Playoff experience is just too much for the Blues to handle.

Wild vs. Coyotes: Wild in 5
Minnesota Wild are just too much of a complete team that is getting it done and upset the Cup Contending Kings.

What weakness ?
Solid team effort lead to me sweeping the Caps with most players producing something

Stanley Cup predictions...

it's gotta be Boston, right? Like, it actually *has* to be... right?

Screw it, I'm going Minnesota in 6. If they can beat St Louis, they can beat Boston.
