What do they do? I did a search and Stinson said the Director of Personnel is just for flavor, wondered if it was the same for Chariman, Managing Director and President. If I was to leave them empty, would anything change about the teams?

Any help is appreciated.

I think some of them have an affect on how much money the organization has...im not sure though

That might make sense given the business stat silly me.

You cannot hire any of these positions. If one of these people retire or quit, they are replaced by the AI.

I recommend setting DEBUG MODE for nhlehm07 to see chairman ''skills''. Like how rich he is.

Actually you can hire a new Director of personnel, you will notice that he is the only one of these people that you can click on, at the beginning of the game you can't do anything to the current dir. of personnel, but when he leaves and a new one is brought in, if you don't like his attributes you can fire him then another one will be hired, and you can do that until one is hired that you like.

I can see that in the higher lvl league (NHL) every team have a chairman at the begining. I can see that they have multiple effects on the team depending on their stat. But they are all old (Because we all know that only old man are rich).

If a chairman of a team retired in the NHL, will a new chairman will be put in place or some team will live without them for many years?

It's not a position that really matters in the game. Lidas goes through and puts these in to the database to match the real life NHL. I don't think the game replaces these chairmen when they leave the team.

Actually the position does matter, each chairman/owner has a different ability to make money, also some are more likely to fire you than others.

Once the chairman is gone, shouldn't the team get a new owner then?

Thanks to Lidas, well you always could if you changed something in the config files, you can now see for example how patient the chairman are.

In the Oilers' challenge my Director of Personnel resigned and was replaced the next day, or even the same day, maybe it's the same thing with the chairman?

Yeah.. You will get new one. But when the new chairman is in you can fire him.. after you have fired regen chairman there wont come new chairman anymore. In my case I didn't feel the difference between those two chairmans or being without chairman.. mostly 'cos I won cup every year. Basicly after first chairman retirement and after second chairman is fired you are the chairman.

Also some teams lose too much money and a new owner will buy the team.

Nah.. Im currently playing with Red Wings, and finished the second season with cup.
After first season my chariman, Mike Illitch(something like that) retired.
There came new chairman with same attributes.
Now im making team for third season, and boom! I dont have chairman anymore!
Now its pretty hard to get some star players from UFA, because my board will cancell every almost every deal!

So does this ''no chairman'' thing effect on my team?

what do any of them do? what are the differences between the first 4, if any?
