I noticed you have a Historic option, is this just a 1 season mode or can you build a dynasty? And does it generate real NHL players in the draft if the years do go by?
Thanks
First of all: the historical mode is not as deep as the normal modern mode. That said, you can start any year from 1931 to now and play the NHL (+WHA). You can decide if you want to recalc ratings from year to year or use the FHM development engine. You can also choose to import all player with age 17 or the year they played first in the NHL. I know some modder did (and do at the moment) some fantastic jobs with real historical logos and jerseys and we added the feature this year to switch both automatically in the right year.
In a nutshell: it is not as deep as the modern mode but you get 80+ years of historical NHL/WHA seasons out of the box.
If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Very cool, I've been a freeware EHM'er for life so I'm not too concerned about how deep the mode is.
So if I choose to import real players they will be available every year in their respective draft? and there will be no computer-made players?

Also, can you get fired from your team, change teams, forced to retire after so many years? Etc.
and are there any screenshots of Historical mode?

If you play with the option "generate player at age 17" they will be available in the first draft that fits the min/max age rule of that year. If you play without that option, they will show up on the team they first played for. Fictional player are only generated when the game needs someone to continue, they are really bad and should not have an impact.

I think you can set an option if you can be fired or not. You could also resign from a team and (using commish mode) sign with any other team if you wish. In theory you can play from 1931 to now and then continue with fictional player. I don´t have any specific screenshots but when you buy the game make sure to get the historical logo/jersey packs, they are really outstanding (just check our board).

I may have missed this, but is there a Commissioner Mode in this version? I didn't see it in the Path to Glory mode when beginning a new game. I liked the commish mode in FHM2 where I could edit players as well.

Only in Sandbox mode. With the PtG mode (career mode) we want to have a mode that is heavily inspired by games like FM or old German football manager games.

Well I started a sandbox game but there is still no option for commissioner mode. Is this a bug or will it be implemented in a later version?

Sandbox Mode has Commissioner Mode (sorry, FHM3 is on a computer that I'm not in front of right now and I can't remember where, but it's there)

How comprehensive is the Historical mode in the off-season, dealing with expansion drafts, salary cap changes, budget changes, even the lock-out?

It's located under MANAGER tab > MANAGER OPTIONS > Checkbox for COMMISSIONER MODE

Been enjoying it for the most part but the issue is a LOT of crashing with the beta. Also be careful. Sometimes players go play INT and they 'come back' but nto for your roster. INT stays next to their name and you cannot dress them. They also get unhappy because of ice time because of this.
I had to abandon a game because I could not sim a day at all. I hope all this gets fixed.

The problem with the INT is already fixed. Regarding random crashes, if they are repeatable, please upload the save for us, that would help a lot!

Alright Ill do that. A friend of mine had the same issue. I do have a question though. Have the injuries been fixed yet? When I take off the check for ENABLE INJURIES I still have injuries. Even took it to 0 and had them. I would usually leave them on, but Me and others have people going out for a year-2years at a time. At one point I simmed 5 days and every day someone in the league was getting hurt for over a year. Was crazy.
I dont think I can upload the save here? Anywhere in particular you want me to send that?

It is not in the store at the moment. You can buy a Steam key on our page or just wait until it is "released" to the pre-orderer next week.
Wasn't it supposed to be on Steam this week or did I understand it wrong? My main point is that I want to use Skrill to buy it, but I can only do it on Steam.

What Leagues are in this version of FHM3? Any that don't appear in EHM?
And what's the UK landscape like/what level is playable?
From what I've seen I like the tactics screen. Selectable 'Player roles' is a step in the right direction over tactical-sliders I think, same as the path Football Manager has gone down.

UK-wise it's the EIHL and EPL only.
Leagues that are playable in FHM but not EHM are (sorry if this is not 100% complete, but I think it is correct): French Magnus League, Russian VHL and the Federal Hockey League.

We decided to put the official release back to end of October (thats when it is officially available through Steam). Instead we went with an extended beta phase to get as many bugs fixed as possible. It is always hard to do testing. Our testing crew (all volunteers) do a fantastic job but of course everyone does it in his free time and it is just not possible to find everything. Now a few hundred people play/test the game and reported bugs (like the injury thing or different crashes related to PO´s). This process will give us a very stable release version.

Just wondering if there is a proper working windows mode for this game like in OOTP.
Ive been a long time player of EHM but got frustrated with always having to hit the continue button and watch the percentages slowly creep along,
Id love to be able to reduce the game so I can do some other things while waiting for the simulation to run.
Thanks

FHM should work perfectly fine in window mode (I always use it and have it open on a second monitor while doing other stuff but you can just have it open on one monitor and do whatever you want to do while waiting). Please just make sure that your screen resolution is above the minimum of 1280*768 (+ whatever your windows taskbar + window border take away), otherwise it will switch to fullscreen. If you want to make sure, let me know your screen resolution and I can tell you if you are safe or not.

It will run on both. But your screen hight on the PC (the 768) is to low for windowed mode I´m afraid. The Window border and the windows taskbar need space as well so fullscreen is the only option.
