Flames will win a Cup before Iggy's retirement

At least i hope so

I haven't discovered hockey the last time the Flames won, back in 1989

Bah! That's nothing! The last time the Bruins won the Stanley Cup was the year I was born but it was right before (they won the Cup in the spring and I was born in the winter). I've seen the other 3 major Boston sports teams win championships (the Red Sox have even won 2... I never expected 1 in my lifetime!) but I still haven't see the Bruins win it all. I think they're due!

I saw my team win the cup twice, I was only just starting out watching hockey regular I thought it was something easy

When was the last time the Canucks won it all?

I didn't even knew they had a Cup someday

they never won the cup.. it was the Vancouver Millionaires down in 1915... in those years they were playing hockey with street apples outside and the goalies had Eaton catalogs as pads

Which is why I cried. Closer than the Habs for the last decade anyway!

I have to admit, I was rooting for the Canucks when they played against the Rangers in the Finals. Nobody wants to see the Rangers win...

I just saw that Spezza re-signed with the Senators, 7 years $49M.

Rangers Suck
So Bieksa and Salo out 2 months minimum...
luongo clearly is being bothered by his knee. Either a deal must be made or Canucks get a shot at Stamkos or 1st overall anyway

Ilya Bryzgalov is on waivers. Many folks expected him to be part of a big trade deadline deal. I don't think anyone expected him to be up for grabs for nothing, especially so early in the season. Can you imagine if Giggy got injured? The Ducks would be hosed!

H,mmm Bryz $1mill...good savings of a few bucks to bring in Teemu or Scott?

Cannot understand this. Surely Burke could have got a pick for Bryzgalov, there must have been some interest in him. Hell, even a 7th rounder or something would be better than losing him for nothing!

Hey, he
will get $15,000 (I think?).

So Bryzgalov has been claimed off waivers by the Coyotes. First game with the Yotes, and he shutout the Kings. Nice start
During this time, Martin Brodeur became only the 2nd goalie to reach 500 NHL wins in a 6-2 win over the Flyers. Congrats Mr. Brodeur

Congrats to Brodeur,=D>, that is some feat, took him a while this year with the strugglin Devils, but now its there, he'll be better.
In other (better) news,
THE DUCKS SIGN GETZLAF FOR 5 YEARS,, good stuff by the Ducks, he's the future of the franchise and Burkey wants to stop "The Penner" situation to happen here. Well Done Burkey!
The Ducks also acquire Brian Sutherby from the Caps, i'm thinkin he might fit onto the Getzlaf and Perry line,:dunno:,... any thoughts?

All I know is that Sutherby hasn't had that much of ice time this season with the Caps. Who knows maybe he's straight off to the farm?
(If he can't make it at Caps, he darn sure ain't making it anywhere else either!

)

Yeah, maybe he will center Bobby Ryan in Portland, but won't he have to go through waivers, being his age and experience? I know that he has played in 5 games this year, with just the 1 points.

Hmm... good point...
Maybe they'll give him a chance, and if it doesn't work out, he's off to farm (or back to Caps thru waivers

) ...

..and again....
Another dirty hit from a Flyer!!!! This time it was Scott Hartnell who rammed Andrew Alberts head to the boards, causing him to leave the game...
Man, whats happening to the Flyers this season???
Lucky we dont have them in our own division, because if we would play them 8 times this season it would mean 8 injured players...
When will Bettman and the league do something??? This is getting ridiculous!!!

Yeah and Hartnell gave some

response about how it wasn't intentional. He says he always finishes his checks and he figured Alberts would've gotten up by then. The thing that really bothers me is that the Bruins didn't take revenge for what happened to Bergeron. I think they should've gooned it up in this game. They need to show the Flyers that they're not going to tolerate these type of hits.

No Lucic.
Yeah that head shot from Hartnell was bad bad bad. Clear intent to drive his head into the boards. Finish his checks...yeah okay..cept the guy was already down. Nothing to finish if a guy is basically on his knees already.

For those (like me) who hadn't see it yet,
here is the video. Indeed no excuse for Hartnell.

Yeah, Lucic was already out with a concussion I believe. Still, I'm thinking that every guy a B on his chest should be making it known that they're not going to stand for that. If not every guy, at least every guy over 6' and 200 lbs. Reich fought. I'm thinking Chara, Stuart, and Ward for starters. Sure, Murray is NOT a fighter but I'm betting a couple of our forwards could've paired off with Flyers of similar stature.

Ah..but the fines and suspensions would have been insane. So I think good on the Bruins for just playing hockey and beaten em where it counts..and beaten em silly at that.

Sure! Be logical! Fat lot of good that does for my thirst for vengence!
Of course, Lucic is out and Shawn Thornton is still out, so we had no designated goon.
