Lidas, I didn't forgot about you. I only am hugely busy and could not compile anything yet for you. I will try to get you something in the next couple of weeks

Thanks archibalduk...I've been around the various Eastside boards for the last three or four years. As I am based in London, Ontario (outside Toronto), I am more than happy to provide my support and assistance with the various projects on the go. Let me know if there is anything more I can do.

Hi Hartmans, I'm updating the OHL right now. How well do you follow it? I could need some help assessing player attributes since I haven't seen them play other than those in the National Junior team and they are already in the game.
With the Knights (I figure you follow them) I'm creating Jared Knight,Colin Martin,Christian Thomas,Michael Zador and Barron Smith.

Anyone heard of Pascal Perron? Reporting to Peoria training camp, David Perron's brother. Didn't play major junior so I am not sure if he is in the game.

He is not in the game. I don't think anyone is going to create him unless he makes a major junior or minor pro team.

Sorry for being a bugger, but are you going to update player attributes for the top european leagues too?

Long time user of your resources, finally registered and just thought I'd start by saying you guys are kicking a$$ right now! I've been playing Eastside since it's freeware days and am glad that a dedicated group like yourselves is taking time to keep the spirit of the game alive!

If you guys need any help, let me know!

Thanks for the kind compliments. Lidas should take 99% of the praise as he's the one spending hours each day editing the database. We just provide him with the research.

Welcome to TBL! It's nice to see a veteran freeware player join the community

I have read the thread post-by-post, before asking the question, and re-read it afterwards and i could find no specific answear to my question. Would it have hurt to just say "yes" or "no"?thanks

The answer is that Euro rosters are being updated. Attributes will be updated for some leagues (Sweden, Finland and possibly UK - there might be others too). Lidas will be able to provide a more detailed answer.

Dear nightmare,

Nice to have you aboard here at TBL. Although archi gave you the answer already...the reason it is not simpler to post just yes or no to answer your question is because well....then this thread would get extremelely repetitive and dull and boring with every new person asking "Are ya updating the ratings for Joe shmo and per olav eldebrink? Cause they should at least be good enough to play with Tony Hand." Now...just for the record, around here we actually like people to read for the answers before asking questions. That is why we have general threads and not specific question threads so much...

Anyway I am sure you won't read this far since you had an issue reading the 2nd post in this thread even though you say you read "post by post". So I can say what I want without offending you. Good for me.

Anyway...here is the 2nd post in this very thread...which you said is not a specific answer apparently. But then again, maybe you just missed this post:

Lidas wrote:Yep, Im working on a 2008/2009 update. I think Ive mentioned it somewhere before, Ive talked a little with Tasku about it too.

I started working on it March 1st - with the Updated Unfaking (TBN)as a base. As I was weighing pros and cons with that one against the exisiting TBL one, I finally decided to go with the TBN DB. The reason for this is the updated attributes.

Since March 1st, Ive spent hundreds of hours updating the rosters from scratch, and also editing the attributes from SEL and Allsvenskan. Updated rosters so far are:

NHL (including staff)
SEL
Allsvenskan
SM-Liiga
Norwegian league
Danish league
Russian league
Czech league
German league
Swiss league
Most transfers from eurohockey.net's archive from 1 year back (A-T finished).

They will all need a re-check once silly season calms down though.

Since its not based on the TBL-DB, it would be unethical to call it a TBL DB, and therefore I will keep working on it alone, but Id gladly share information with you guys! :-D

BTW, did you get an answer to your question whether it was possible for Neil (or anyone else) to create a tool aging all staff and players simultaneously?

It states using the TBN database (unfaking) and that it has updated attributes, and it states a whole ton of Euro Leagues, including the top ones in SEL, Russia, SM Liga, etc are being updated. So when you read post by post do you miss the entire beginning? :dunno: :-D Looks as though it answers the question you asked pretty thoroughly...what exactly was not specific about that answer?

And yeah, when the answer is there it is annoying to give it again. So next time, even if the thread is 20 pages long do us a favor. Read it.

What you have quoted just mentions having updated attributes for SEL and Allsvenskan. Then it mentions updating rosters for a number of leagues. As i told you, i read and re-read the thread hoping for a specific answear, but could not find one, and only then decided to ask. Furthermore, as i previousely told you, i do not see the point of this argument, a simple answear would have sufficed, and i do not whish to drag this off-topic by discussing what is and is not specific any further.

Settle down now children! :-p

1. Yes, (I think) SM-liiga is updated, but only to season 2007-08, as that is the case with the database to which this database will be built on, the TBN unfaking.

2. Wether or not Lidas is planning to update SM-liiga to 2008-09 remains unanswered. He may need some help with it?

3. You always need three pointers, so here it, the third.

Just to be clear...not pointing fingers or anything...The Unfaking database is the basis of this new one Lidas and a few others are working on for 2008-09 as is stated in the 2nd post of this thread a the very top.

With the ufaking..comes updated attributes for many many players ...regardless of league. If you did not know that nightmare, sorry...I figure everyone does! Because it is talked about here in many threads, at HF, at TBN (where unfaking is always being worked on) and at Si forums.

No problem, just a little missunderstanding :-D By the way, I forgot to mention that if anyone needs help with editing, I would be glad to help, also, i could give you some insight on Romanian hockey, if it is needed(player rosters, junior leagues, new leagues just formed)

I just registered to say thanks to lidas and everyone involved in this project! I love the ehm and have been playing since freeware and the ONLY reason I still play the game is because of updated rosters.

I can't wait, thanks guys!

P.S. Just to confirm, all 2008 draftee's will be included with their respective teams correct?

Posted: Tue Sep 23, 2008 9:28 pm
by archibalduk
Thanks for your kind words and welcome to TBL!

So long as Lidas finds the time, the 2008 draftees will be on the right rosters. We're trying to update as much as we can to make it as realistic as possible for the 08/09 season. Obviously this is a big task!

It sure is a big update. Is everyone kinda working together on this project now, in which Lidas does the editing? The reasons I ask is because on the first page, there seems to be two different projects even though everyone shares and helps each other.

Posted: Tue Sep 23, 2008 9:54 pm
by batdad
Yeah the two projects merged into the one Lidas is working on, and everyone who was involved in the first one is helping out Lidas now with research. Lidas has taken on one hell of a task, and congrats for doing so bud.
