About Duchene, O'Reilly both have a nice rookie season.
This season Duchene is Avs leader in points, and O'Reilly developed his skills as as defense (SH).
As for Shattenkirk since his got a call up, has been a good defense in ofensive skills.
I'am new here so i dont know the criterium ti update the players.
(Sorry for english mistakes, i from Brazil).

Players like Duchene, O'Reilly,Shattenkirk and Galiardi they are much better.
Fear not, all those guys will be updated with the other prospects I'm working on. Duchene, o'Reilly and Galiardi all got significant CA boasts based on last years stats.
Hmm, Duchene and O'Reilly were rookies last year. Lidas has already put in their CA from that year before I got the db. Seems strange, but I will check it out when I get the research from you
Just double checked, and I must have still been looking at the older database. The CAs I have for the graduated players are very close to the ones in the newest database. The discrepancies must come from either me not using the CA calculator properly, me and Lidas using slightly different stats, or Lidas doing some adjustments from the calculation. I'll keep the CAs I got from the calculator and leave it up to you whether to keep Lidas' ones.
I always encourage checking any research I send you.

Lidas and I have calculated CA slightly different this year. We have taken the last three years into account for the NHL players. The most recent years are given more weight though. This should not affect the rookies from last year.

Just need to say that Dustin Byfuglien is a joke in the game...
But i have done 3 years in the databas and i like it a lot!
Thanks!
P.S Have been playing the Islanders 2 times, first time i did some big mistakes so i did restart and both times crazy Wang like me to trade Tavares, so i don´t know but in real life Wang should love Tavares i guess even if he is not perfect player???
So in 2 times of 2 Tavares is gone from the Island...

I was just wondering what is used to determin CA for the prospects? I was thinking of starting a new save, and was curious to see how Jeff Skinner (Hurricanes) was because they are my home team, and I noticed most of his attributes were pretty poor (especially his stickhandling and shooting which are two of his big upsides). I simmed a season with NHL set on enhanced, and I noticed a few problems. 1) He was sent down to the AHL, but under 18 with junior rights shouldn't he go there? 2) He was only played 11 games in the AHL where he got 1 assist and a sub-6 average rating. I went to the pre-game editor to look at him, and noticed his CA was only 82, which seems a bit low for a first round guy playing in the NHL, and putting up quite some good points. I can understand if his PA is randomized as he is still a young prospect and how good he may or may not get is yet to be seen obviously, but shouldn't his CA be a bit higher than that?

We have an excel sheet that calculates the CA based on their stats from last year. It weighs the league the player played in and how many games that league plays the takes the player's position, games played, points, plus-minus, and penalty minutes. I think it's a decent system but the CA isn't always a great match for the current season.

As empach explained, his CA is based on last years stats, as is all players in the db. What they have done this season has not affected their abilities or attributes in the game.
The sending to AHL despite having CHL rights is a glitch in the game

Thank you for your creative criticism...
But to be honest he was at least good in Chicago last year and this season he is a killer in Atlanta (back as a defender)...
And when i look at CA i could say i don´t want him in my NHL team but in IRL i should love to have him as a top 4 at least in all NHL team...
Sorry for bad criticism and i love the Lidas db and i could say that this db is good but could be just great!
Thanks for all hard work but some players are just little little wrong and Byfuglien is one of them...
Also a friend of me is Islanders whit Your DB and he got the massage in season 3 that Tavares should leave the team from the board...

Alright Tavares makes good points but less then 7 as a rate in the game but something is fishy with his profile?
Anyway BIG THANKS for all hard work!!!

Ok, I wasn't sure but that makes complete sense, and thanks for the explanation empach and Manimal. I actually downloaded the prospect sheet to have a look at it, pretty cool the way it works and the way you (or Lidas?) set all that up. I may go ahead and bump up Skinner's CA just a bit on my own then for my game. I may actually use the prospect guide on my own to do some updates to a few guys as I see fit

Thanks for all your hard work and to everyone who contributed, these roster updates really have been the big thing that has kept me playing this game more than any other since i got it like 3 years ago. I love that I can sit down and play it for 5 min or 5 hrs, and it can be different every time. I'm having so much fun with my other Hurricanes game on 2.3 that it might be a while before I play a game on 3.0 (currently in 2013-2014 season, my second longest save to date).

Hi Manimal,
Great work, thanks for doing this.
Norfolk Admirals are listed as an ECHL team. Noticed that when creating a new Lightning Franchise.

Because of an issue with the teams in minors, some AHL teams had to be put in the ECHL. Norfolk and Lake Erie are the two I know off the top of my head

Ah, alright. Thanks.

No prob. Does make for those teams dominating, and maybe some roster issues. I suggest adding yourself as the Norfolk GM so you can make sure you have roster space

Yeah, that was the plan. Although I'm concerned about getting my development for players at the AHL level.
Is this something I can edit in the pre-game editor?

Yes, you can make another AHL team your affiliate. That might lead to that particular AHL team will have two NHL teams who sends players to it.

The issue I had here is that once I got to a certain limit of players, I couldn't send any more down and I was stuck with over 30 players on my roster

Or swap Norfolk with another AHL team

Yes, the ECHL has a roster limit, whereas the AHL does not. You will have to loan them out to different teams

Just something quick.
Why is Nail Yakupov missing from the game? He is a potential top pick in 2012 and is 7th in scoring in the OHL in his rookie season.

Honestly, I don't know. I usually make sure the Euros in CHL is made but I must have missed him. There might be other guys missing. I will take a look and I promise he'll be in the next update

I'm sort of a CHL Import and NHL Draft nut. I can help out with some of this year's draft prospects because there are about half of the ISS's top 150 Euros missing from the game. If I can eventually figure out the best way to do the research I will definitely help you out.
As for another quick mistake I noticed. Vladislav Namestnikov is still on his Russia team, but he made the move to North America at the beginning of this season and is playing full time minutes with the London Knights.

The draft is an area where I would love to add info. Feel free to do some research

There are countless players set as UFAs that have long since retired; some of them last played in real life over 5 or 6 years ago! Most of them were career minor leaguers, and when playing EHM as a British Elite League or EPL team the vast majority of teams' import players are these old, now retired players. Really spoils things, they need to be removed from the DB. Plenty of problems with accuracy in the British leagues though, lots of players with random ratings etc... not moaning, just providing info! I'd offer to research but I don't have time I'm afraid
