Just woke up and saw the contract Marleau signed with the Leafs.. Wow. I'm not sure how you can justify paying a 37 year-old player $6 million for the next 3 years. Surely he'll have to be traded/put on LTIR on the third year of this contract?

They stay on until after the first day of the season, at which point they actually then go onto LTIR.
DET is in the same boat with Franzen.

And CHI will do the same with Hossa, which is why they needed to trade Kruger in order to lower their cap and squeeze under the limit.

Babcock loves him some old dudes though. Expect more of this as time goes on.

Radulov goes to Dallas. 5 years worth 6.25 millions per year. Gotta say I'm disappointed that MTL lost him. It seems they offered him the same deal too. Maybe he realised he will never win a Cup with MTL!

Radulov was exciting to watch. Now they have Drouin instead who is also spectacular but I keep telling myself that with Radu on top of Drouin they would have a real offense. Now it's mostly back to case 1.

The Avalanche gave a chance to Yakupov. Even if I don't have faith in that signing it would be fun if he could have success with either Mac, Landy or Duch.

There it is! The super McDavid contract is not that bad to be honest. Now I'm just wondering how they will give to Draisaitl...he could be a good pick as an hostile offer now.

Very excited for the new season to start and I can't wait to see how the Flyers do this season! Time for a new season thread, possibly?

				Time to rename the thread?
Anyways, I recently translated an interesting interview with Nikita Kucherov, he's always a great read.
