I just began my second season with the Stars, and Washington just put Nicklas Bäckström on the block. He finished last season with 101 points, and won the Art Ross, the Lady Bing, the Clancy, the Hart, and also finished with the best +/- award. Huge season.
I was curious so I made an offer, Tyler Seguin (who made an average season, but not really good) for Bäckström plus the rights of Rantanen and Lazarev. They accepted right away, no questions asked...
I didn't seal the deal as it would have kill the fun of my game, just wanted to see if this dumb trade would work. Well, it would.

Im having trouble making trades. I would offer a sweet package to a team and really they love it but when it time to finalize the deal they don't accept.
I've only made one deal so far which was Conacher for Petan.

Trading has a problem with the latest patch. Teams will make me an offer when I offer to all but when I accept their offer they refuse the deal saying it will upset team chemistry. In some cases the player is already on the block so it makes no sense.

Trades leading up to draft day are incredible.
JUne 5 Nasville sends Kevin Fiala and rights to Aaron Irving to Minnesota for Jason Pomminville. Yeah right
June 18 Vancouver sends Radim Vrbata and his 5 mill, yep...to LA for Tyler Toffoli and his upcoming 1.72 mill. Toffoli was 34-24-58 and Vrbata was 45-32-77. WIth the 11 year age difference and the cap difference what is LA doing?
June 19 Montreal sends Gallagher to Buffalo for Moulson and a scrub. Yeah sure.
Tons of unaccepted ridiculous deals like that Hornquist for 1st, 2nd and a 3rd liner that were out there at trade deadling. Basically Pens repeated their errors.
But not a ton of trades only...7 or so, and the others were not horrible.

Think the first one is fine since Fialas PA seems lowish in this DB...

It was not a value trade to me. It is one that would this type of trade ever happen? No way...For a guy like Pommi you are going to get a pick, plus a good established player. Neither of those guys is that.
So for a newish player I need a tip

Hey so I am familiar with sports sims, played the old ehm but always felt disconnected with the game.
I was never able to trade, draft or stay committed to ehm very long.
If anyone is familiar with OOTp and FHM in that title you can manage to make some trades even if you mess with with roser balance and cap problems as long as the value going to the team is equivalent.
That all said I cant trade for anyone is EHM I mean Detroit wants to get rid of Nyquist and they want a defender. I offer a Veteran Defender with a reasonable cap hit and even throw in a pick. Tim Erixon and a 3rd is like I'm offering them a handful of dirt. Throw in another pick and its close plus the rights to a solid prospect and OH im sorry this may cause issues with our roster.
Offer a clearly unfair trade in their favor and 10/10 they take it. I no joke and not just 1/10 but 0/10.
Give some some examples or tips on how to trade please...It's the only thing keeping me from enjoying this game.

I wouldn't trade Nyquist for a 2nd and Erixon. I don't think that is any where near a fair trade.
In my game Nyquist has scored. 42 goals,50 goals and has 19 mid way through season 3 with detroit. Erixon is a 5-6 defencmen

I've been noticing lately that a team will put a player on the trading block and when you try and make a deal with them they always come back with something like "this trade will unbalance our roster" or something to that degree. Even if you're only offering them picks. It's clearly some kind of bug.

I agree with Krownroyal, a player is put on the block, you make an offer or inquire and then they reject everything because of some reason. It could be a bug, though you never know with sports management games.

Ya its not game breaking but still cant manage a trade.
With Nyquist the only trade they had been willing to accept was morgan rielly, percy and a 2nd. Even after that and you offer? I cant seem to just accept the trade I can respond to it or offer and in both cases they come back with our roster would be unbalanced. Even if they agreed to that trade or thought it was beneficial at the trade screen.
Should I reinstall or is this happening with other users?

I think trading was an issue when they released EHM:EA and the issues have changed following the latest patch. I've opened a thread over at the si forums to discuss the issue I was seeing (regarding picks). I'm aware that krownroyal and another have logged a bug report regarding the "unbalance our roster" response.
So in short, I'm pretty sure you're not the only one experiencing trade issues. I've not been able to trade very much at all.

I'm guessing the unbalancing roster thing is a bug, either that or it needs clarifying. I haven't completed a trade yet!

Trading is a bit out or whack ATM. I'm hoping it will improve in the next update

I have started new game for Toronto, just to try Maple Leafs rebuild, 2014-15 TBL Rosters v7.3 P-SoS:
I have made two trades in September so far:
T. Bozak + D. Clarkson to Buffalo for Sam Reinhart
S. Robidas to Sharks for 2015/2nd Round Pick
Both seem to me quite fair (Robidas done through "Offer to All" option).

Quite fair? I'm sure you would think so being Toronto. That first one is atrocious for Buffalo.

Yeah, how is that first one fair

Sabres get 2x 3rdliners on awful contracts and give up a blue chip prospect, a future #1C... "fair"

Hey man, as a Leafs fan, Bozak is a solid 2nd to 3rd line forward, thank you very much

LOL if anyone thinks trade #1 from Toronto guy was fair...may be one of the biggest rip offs in history short of Cam Neely, Glen Wesley for Barry Pederson.
And yeah from A Leafs view (which is similar to an ECHL view) Bozak is a great #3 centre in the ECHL.
Sam Reinhart is one of the smartest hockey players in history. Period. ONce that boy turns into a man, he is going to be freaking awesome.

I agree, that SR will be a Gem and his potential upside is 1st line franchise centre. But in the GAME, Bozak is not so bad. And now there is no better center in Toronto. Even compared to Kadri almost all his attributes are higher. Is Kadri better? No. In the future? Maybe.. And considering TBL challenge rules, it was two B tier players for one A, so clearly within the law.
Of course in real life such trade would be a rip off.

Just cause you are a 2nd line or 1st line centre on a specific team, does not really mean you are a first line centre. Then there is the opposite of that....Evgeni Malkin would be a 1st line centre on almost any other team in the NHL.
ANd yeah totally within the rules of EHM CHallenges....BUT...I play even harder than the rules actually suggest. I mean look at my deals that I have made in just the Flyer one...not trading Schenn and Lecavalier for a pick etc.
