6 weeks without Price for MTL. You can add Gallagher to that too. It's going to be interesting to see if they can keep it up with Condon. He does a good job but he ain't a real #1.

Pascal Dupuis announced his retirement. Sucks even if he was 36 years old. I'm sure he had a couple of good seasons to give still.

Johnston fired in the Triangle City. My fan rage gets slightly higher as once again there's talk about making trades to keep in the Crosby Malkin window. 28/29/31 (Crosby/Malkin/Fleury) is not yet a closed window. But of course, we'll have another GM mortgage the future.

Let the rant complete: When you can only claim Maata and Bennett as the good drafting you've done (still waiting to see on Sprong) since you had #1, #3, #2 picks... and then you trade away every so so pick or prospect when the stars were 22... there's nothing left to mortgage.

Oh well, hopefully it turns around. Feel bad for Johnston, wasn't a great coach for us, but was set up to fail from the start.

The Al-Star game has been a joke my entire lifetime, so it seems a little fitting to me HaHa

Another example of the effect of social media, and how the influence of it isn't always good/thoughtful :-D

When the NHL didn't learn that the voting system is a bad idea after last years Girgensons debacle, they deserve to have John Scott as a captain at this years All-Star game.

Ill admit, I voted for him several times because this voting for All-Stars rubbish has to stop. At some point the NHL at minimum has to do what the NFL does and have fan vote only count for 1/3rd instead of all. I have to believe that if this doesn't teach them to reduce the fan's impact, nothing will.

If they really want fans to vote then they should have the fans vote but limit the players they can vote on to the top players of each teams according to the NHL.

I've never really payed any attention to the All Star Game. It's an exhibition game. A get together. Back when it was NA vs World it had some curiosity factor to it. Not that I cared much back then either.

After been sent to the AHL it seems that Jonathan Drouin asked to be traded. (or maybe his agent) I'm very surprised to hear that, maybe he could join MacKinnon in Colorado? :D

Worth noting is that both are 50% retained and that Vinny has declared that he will retire after the season.

Wow, Ryan Johansen to Preds for Seth Jones. I think Seth Jones will be a stud but i still think Kekeläinen got fleeced there, should have been Jones + something for RyJo who is a young proven 1C, no matter his "issues"

Yeah I'm really surprised it's a one on one trade. Was expecting the Jackets to get more for Ryan honestly. Good for the Preds though since they are lacking a bit of offense.

I think this move makes Preds a legit contender for aslong as Rinne and Weber are still worth their money (atleast 2 cup runs, possibly a few more). Forsberg-Johansen-Smith, Wilson-Ribeiro-Neal with Josi-Weber, Ekholm-Ellis is really scary, their depth is solid aswell.

I think, it's a fair deal. Ryan Johansen comes with a lot of issues and demonstrated some toxic attitude, there are some question marks here.
