Haha, nice
483K salary floor fine, that's a shame. Let's extend some contracts...

Wait so we can keep the veterans in season 2? I thought we had to trade them away

It influenced my trades since I only went for 19 or 18 years old, oh well might as well do a real rebuild

I have a lot of 18/19 year old players. After 5 wins in pre-season, I went to a 0-10-0 (and counting) record...

After 1st july 2017 can I trade one 'underage' player already?

Tampa sweeps Hawks and wins Stanley Cup. TAmpa lost 2 games in the entire playoffs. Bishop 1.6 GAA and 4 shutouts. Stamkos led in scoring 12-12-24. Carl Hagelin looks a little awesome in this game. 42 reg season goals and then 12 more in playoffs even though lost in semis, tied for league lead in playoffs. Speed kills I guess.
MOving into the trade season, signed Vladar, Johansson and FOrsbacka Karlsson from my prospects list. Could care less about any of the others, except for the 2015 picks and will wait and see how they do at camp etc. Not signing for all.
Trade strategy...will likely be to get one player of decent quality at each position and will likely only deal with Western Conference teams unless I can fleece the Tampa BAy Lightning. We shall see.
Not doing it yet as have things to do. Likely get to it tomorrow or later today.

I was 3-8-1 in the first month, after 5 months I'm 13-49-5. At least my team is consistent

The new season starts in June when the trade stop ends, so you can trade one underage player every season from June 2017. So in short, yes you can

batdad - Yeah, i think (haven't checked yet in this db) Hagelins technical attributes are still way too high, his passing, wristshot, stickhandling etc should not be in the teens.

Thanks!
I'm thinking that I will trade one of my three right wingers (Toffoli, Pastrnak, Senyshyn) for LW to TOP6. Anyway I have Matús Kovác from 6th place in draft 2017 and he is big talent, so... it is very hard...
Now Bruins have to TOP6 these Fws: Khokhlachev (C/LW), Matthews (C), Toffoli (RW/C), Pastrnak (RW/LW), Fabbri (C/RW) and Senyshyn (RW).
Or I may will trade Torey Krug for a legit second center. Seriously, now I don't know what I will do...

I just finished season 1, 44 points in the standings.
http://i.imgur.com/RCVFbWm.jpg Player stats are crazy
http://i.imgur.com/os9Jg5B.jpg Cervenka is a PPG?
I think I only need a starting goalie (If Evan Fitzpatrick isn't ready yet) and I'll have a decent team, top 4 d-man are Ekblad, Shea Theodore, Krug, Zboril and I have decent prospects like Chad Krys and David Quenneville. LW is kinda weak but should be good enough with Crouse, Khokhlachev, Marchand, Debrusk and Braylon Shmyr. For centers I have weak players but great prospects with Logan Brown, Clayton Keller, Forsbacka Karlsson and Denis Alexeyev (gamble draft). RW is pretty good with Shenyshy, Pastrnak, Karabacek, Hayes and Petrus Palmu.
Has anyone had a goalie who started for their NHL team right after being drafted?

I've some doubts in Stats Upload panel where can i see this info
Powerplays: (is the powerplay opportunities or the percentage of powerplays?)
Payroll ($US Millions): (is the total player salaries?)
here are mine stats :S
League
Team
Trades

Powerplays is the number of power play opportunities. There's also a spot to put your PP goals.
Payroll is the one that says "Averaged Club Salary". That's your cap number.

I'm halfway the 1st season. Started with 11 defeats in a row, but slowly we're picking up points. I'm actually having a win streak at the moment
The C are very, very weak, Joonas Kemppainen is truly a disgrace. Ryan Spooner does well, but he's injured again.

Yeah, C is usually a big problem in these challenges, that's why i focused my trades on getting a couple strong centers, happy with both Kevin Hayes and Mika Zibanejad even though both (especially Zibby) has been a bit inconsistent. I see that the stat upload thing is fixed, so i'll continue onto the 2nd season now
Cool, Pastrnak came in 3rd for Lady Byng.

Theodore and Ekblad are the top pairing of Team Canada for the World Championship

Khokhlachev is also the 2nd C for Russia.
I was watching my ECHL team in the playoff and this happens.
https://i.imgur.com/gD9k1jy.gif I tried turning highlights on, off, changing everything but the game is completely stuck. #1 keeps skating in circles and the game does not advance. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd really like to not lose a month or so of playing because of this

Sped through my trades. I really did not want to get too many guys others had, and did not wnat to sit around working the deals for hours. Took me 20 minutes, and they are not the best I am sure, but I am happy with them
1. Bergeron to Vancouver for Horvat and Shinkaruk
2. McQuaid and Seidenberg to Calgary for Jon GIllies (my future in net I hope)
3. Krecji to Columbus for Bjorkstrand and a 3rd
4. Rask and Chara to LA (to reunite with Lucic) for Toffoli, Jacob Middleton and a 5th.
5. Eriksson to Calgary for Morgan Klimchuk and Ville Pokka
My lineup will look something like this for 2016-17
Marchand-Toffoli-Pastrnak
Beleskey-Horvat-Hayes (Connolly)
Connolly(Hayes)-Spooner-Bjorkstrand
Khoklachev-Kampainnen-Rinaldo
Shinkaruk Klimchuk
Krug-Pokka
Morrow-K Miller
Irwin-C Miller
Cross(Trotman)
Subban
J Smith (McIntryre,Vladar, Gillies)
Yep I have a crapload of goalies and not much on D. LOL
Off to draft some hot garbage.

The trades look fine, i would be worried about your goalie situation if it wasn't you, but i'm sure Subban will be .930+ with your defensive system

Heh. We shall see. Not sure with this defense. Definitely the worst defensive d I have EVER had in a challenge. But that is why it is a challenge.

It's a fun challenge, i like it
I think i'll stick to my usual style of being very patient with my prospects, probably letting Zboril and Senyshyn start in AHL season 2, both are probably NHL ready judging by how they performed last season (and judging by how Zboril has done for others season 1) but i'll take it slow

2nd draft out of the way. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it and creating a draft list for myself.
1st round 2nd pick Matus Kovac
2nd round 31st pick Owen Tippett
2nd round 51st pick Leevi Ruotsalainen
3rd round 80th pick Louis O'Neill
4th round 91st pick Josh Brook
5th round 121st pick Aslan Volkov
6th round 151st pick Jere Huhdanpaa
7th round 181st pick Kyle Maksimovich

I played Zboril a bit when I had an injury on the main roster. He struggled. Maybe he's got to be given a lot of minutes to be good? Or maybe it's the style of play? Whatever it is, he's not ready for me. He must have been drafted by a junior team in the time since I had originally sent him to Providence. I couldn't send him back down. I had to send him back to juniors. I also ended up sending Subban down to Providence. Both he and Pickard were struggling and the team just couldn't get anything going. I brought Ned up and he's got a few wins. He's been a nice improvement. I'm hoping to do better than 5 wins in this next quarter.

I had Zboril in juniors all season, will probably have him in AHL next season. I believe in him in the long run though.

Finished up trades. Took a different tact this time. With hidden attributes, I can't find the type of defenders I like as easily (and in such a short timeframe for scouting), but offensive guys are a bit easier to find just based on stats. Also decided since I can't see a lot for the draft, I'd target 22-24 year olds in order to add short term hope, and pray that we get a couple of decent drafts or future trades to shore up the rest.
Bergeron, Krejci and Rask to COL for Rantanen and Landeskog
McQuaid, Seidenberg and Eriksson to TBY for Vasilevskiy
Chara to PHX for a 2nd rounder.
Rantanen I hope is as good as I hear in this DB (living in Colorado, the fans are excited), Landeskog gives a legit star, and Vasilevskiy was the only 4 or 5 star goalie I could get (and pretty cheap from Tampa all things considered, if my scouts are in the ballpark.) No one wanted Chara for more than another 3rd line type guy, and we have plenty of those!
Here's to hoping the draft goes well.

I'm so glad I won the lottery, I now reunited Braylon Shmyr and Nolan Patrick! Those 2 guys were beastly this year in Brandon
