Finally got enough free time to do this. I love my forwards, kinda iffy on the D so I picked up a butt-load of D-prospects I like.

Hehehe, according to the bums who do the season preview, I'm gonna finish 29th. Will be fun proving them wrong.

I was supposed to finish 27th.
I think they forgot how much of a tactical genius you are.

I haven't even played enough to get any team past December, so I wouldn't call myself a genius just yet.

So I finally started to go searching around see if I can find a fill to my teams hole.
I noticed I was loosing alot of faceoffs and alot of goals were unassisted. So off I went for a good faceoff/passing center who I could trade for or sign. High on the list of people to hit the bricks was Cheechoo because he just wasn't doing anything except putting alot of pucks on net.
So who do I find, but good old Mr. Hodge. So with his 80+ passing and faceoff skill, he's manned center on my 4th line and must have told Cheechoo he'd sleep with his wife if Hodge ended up with more goals, because a couple games after that Cheechoo has started on a tear. He's even moved into the lead as my goal scorer. I should get a better idea of the overall improvement, because the next batch of 20 games is almost up.
Only bad news for the team is Andy Delmore was claimed off waivers when I was trying to move him to the minors for a bit. ''

It seems the game just plain hates me. Carolina is top of the league with a record of 5-0-1.
My lines, just for the record...
Nash - Briere - Heatly (You better beilieve their clicking)
Vanek - Derek Roy - Recchi (Recchi is teaching the young guys a few tricks, 15 points in 6 games between them)
Sturm - Arnason - Hunter
OR Hunter - Sturm - Williams (I haven't decided what to do just yet, Sturm has 7 points in 6 games, whilst Williams and Arnason have 2 each and Hunter started the season with an injury.

)
Mair - Gaustad - Andre Roy (Their role should be clear)
Witt - Stuart (playing average)
Vaananen - Brewer (playing great)
Tanabe - Pratt (T's been good, Pratt hasn't.)
Raycroft - Caron

Games 21-40
Major Transactions, Events and other Observations
- Traded Justin Mapletoft, Radek Martinek, and 2nd Rounder in 2007 for Michael Ryder at the Deadline. Dunno if this will help me or hurt me.
- Got Glen Metropolit off of waivers... He is just under a ppg.
- Nabokov continues to start almost every game. He was injured for a week and Bryzgalov filled in... winning all of his games.
- Jagr and Forsberg are one and two in the overall points standings... Jagr has 24 more points than Kovalchuk, the third place guy.
- Curtin + Hodge = Brilliant!
- NOBODY IS INJURED!!!!!!!!????!!?!??!??!

Good point! I wonder if Minstrel was wondering if people might be wondering this when he made his last post to the Announce thread about the Fantasy Draft Challenge and
thats why he mentioned it there in his message last Friday and then changed the topic to include (New Info!) in the title

Nah, we better wait to see what he wants us to do.

These words are coming back to haunt me.
I have this overly-powerful offensive team, but I just can't put the biscuit in the basket. The team is playing great defensivly, and while thats fun and all, and is working greats, its not the type of style that wins these challenges.
I'm fearing a first in TBL history... a challenge I finsh that I won't place in the top 3.

It's ok Tom.
Jagr is on pace to have 125 points for me.

Oh and Tom, on your front office page it's the number after the $44 million number.
Player Budget I think it is...
It's the one that looks like it would be your salary.

I was 1 goal to push a game into overtime away from winning the President's Trophy.
All 3 teams in contention lost so we all have 111 points in the standings, but the Lightning have 3 more wins than I do.

Aww mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Went from 1 goal away from winning the Presidents Trophy to dropping 4 straight games in the Eastern Semifinals.
Won the first 3 against the Flyers and then lost the next 4 by the scores of 6-2, 5-1, 5-2 and 7-4.
Talk about a playoff collapse!
Jagr finished the season with 113 points which was good for the Hart Trophy while Forsberg finished with 101 for third overall in the points standings.
The Marlies are on their way to a Calder Cup.
My prospect pool is awful. None of them will make it to the NHL, I guarantee it.
At the deadline I traded for Ryder and he played great.
After the offseason I will give another update on who I could resign and who I drafted and stuff.

Glad I checked, forgot to post my stats for 21-40 last week when I got them done for season 2.
Oh, and my power play...still sucks.
Just before trade deadline...Steve Sullivan for Trent Hunter, Sean Bergenheim (my new Sabres)
Orpik off waivers. Clemmenson sometime off reentry waivers I believe.
Oh and picked up Jody Shelley and George Parros...have them on the farm right now (both on reentry) and then passed em back down. Just there in case THE BOOGIE MAN gets suspended AGAIN!
Just picked up Maltby at the deadline..Think Hagman was involved and I got a draft pick too. 2nd round I think. I hate Hagman and so did my board. They asked me to rid ourselves of him. 3 goals in game 1 for Maltby playing with Forsberg and Modin.
