Yeah, I added Hobey Baker and Mike Ricther for official release.
I'll add more awards for the next releases.

BKarchitect wrote:But I was a little worried about the Hobey Baker and the Richter attached to the Frozen Four...was it going to simply choose the best player from the 6 teams in that tournament/playoff? Well...turns out no. It chooses the MVP and Best Goalie out of all 6 conferences - the player doesn't have to be appearing in the Frozen Four. Which is awesome...because I think now you can also setup First-, Second- and Third- All-NCAA teams at the end of the season as well as the All-Conference teams.
I was going to post something on this earlier, that I noticed the Hobey Baker winner wasn't attached to the Frozen Four (which is definitely good). I've had 1 or 2 winners so far that didn't even make the Frozen Four. I've been on vacation though and was distracted for a few days before being then gone to North Carolina for a week on the ocean.

I also agree, additional awards will add a lot to the experience. Baby steps though, of course. Playable NCAA is still kinda' amazing and I didn't think I'd ever see it. Glad to hear they'll eventually come.

Is there no other way to download TBL Rosters v9.4, other than by STEAM?

Yes but after you subscribe to it on steam go to steamapps in your steam folder then workshop then content. Search the folders for the database file and 3 other config files. You can then copy it into another folder and unsubscribe to it on steam.

My game is not original, some problem?

First of all, this is the wrong thread. This is for reporting issues with the database relating to NCAA League settings. Secondly, if by "not original" you mean it's pirated, that is not tolerated here and using a pirated game is a bannable offense.

2 Things i found when i simmed with the 9.4 rosters

- The Federal Hockey League games in Play-off are Best of 3, so number of legs should be put to 2 (first team hitting 2 wins), actually it's set to 3 which mean extra games played for nothing.

- For both the ECAC and WCHA, Play-off games dates are 3rd March and 5th March but their draw date are 16 and 18 March, this mean the semis are played 3rd March as expected but the final are played around 20th March. Should be 2nd March and 4th March as Draw dates.

None of these errors are game breaking, just reporting them in case :)

I can't sign players to NCAA in the new update. Something wrong with the database?

Are you sure you are using 9.4?

Yes. As an example, I use "early start date" to directly sign Casey Mittelstadt from Green Bay Gamblers to my college team, but in this update he's not interested to sign.

Update. I can sign players, but not this particular player (Mittelstadt), even though he wants to play college hockey. Why can't I sign some player, even though it says that they want to play college hockey?

Maybe he wants to play for some other college?

Ah ok. Yes, there are some weird cases. Mostly with european players, though. Yes, I never managed to sign Mittelstadt in my sims (not that I tried too much, but I remember trying with him), maybe he has a high reputation and would rather play in the CHL, dunno.

Before 9.4 update I was able to sign Mittelstadt as an example using "Devin Weston" method in the database. I still couldn't sign Svechnikov from Muskegon in that one, who wanted to go to college but it was much more tricky to sign Europeans. But now with 9.4, I can't sign Mittelstadt at all.

What is the Devin Weston method?

Devin Weston posted this a few pages back:

"None taken. It's quite simple, really.

1. I open up the database in the database editor.

2. Then went into Finance Info under competitions

3. Copied the financial info for Canada and named it United States with the league set to none.

4. Then I copied the info for the Canadian Hockey League Memorial Cup, named it NCAA Frozen Four with the league set to NCAA Frozen Four.

Of course this is only a template, but it really helps. ;)

If you have any further concerns, feel free to let me know."

I think I've figured it out now. The player reputation was "too" high for college it seems. I tested with the database and it worked by lowering their reputation.

I just ran into a little problem that is probably not solveable

i would have been able to sign 20year old free agents that played in WHL last season. According to the NCAA rules that would be forbidden i think. I did not sign those player although they would have been a considerable improvement.

If you offer a "contract" to a junior player so he commits to your team in the rules it says entry level contract: yes.

Does this have any bearing in the NCAA?

Read through some of the stuff here. I'm on the latest TBL v9.6 rosters and just wondering if we're able to sign USHL/NAHL/etc players as of yet? IIRC a few pages back, I had read that had been fixed and was in for 9.4, or am I wrong here and it's still not possible?

My guess would be it has no bearing on the NCAA but would likely have bearing on ECHL/AHL/NHL future contracts, in the fact that, the player would likely no longer be "protected" or RFA status and instead be granted UFA.
