Nice trade for both team. Vatanen will probably get more ice-time and it will help him a bit. Both teams have alot of injuries right now so it's a win/win.

Meanwhile MTL traded Holland for Cracknell. It's probably only an AHL level trade but Holland was doing pretty good with Laval. So I don't get how they'll be better with Cracknell. :dunno: In two weeks Bergevin did two AHL level trades. How about trying to improve the NHL club now? :D

I know its a win-win situation for both devils & ducks, but its a lost for devils fans since rico is fan-favourite player. He did a lot in and off ice for fans and organization.

Surely we will miss him so much. Anyway, its a business after all. Hope he success in anaheim.

Well...didn't expect MTL to win 10-1 against Detroit! First career hat-trick for Byron!

Yes. That's a pretty stupid move to do normally. There it's worse since he's on the bench! What was he thinking.

R.I.P. Zarley. I rated him in our 1998/1999 Retro database. :-(
A bit off topic as it's not the current season.

Saw the news but don't remember the guy...I wasn't following hockey back when he was playing. He was young. RIP

One of the great Whalers ever to suit up.

Also one of the greatest hockey names ever.

VGK at home : 17 wins, 2 losses, 1 OT.

How will they handle playoffs ?

Oilers lose 5-0 two home games in a row, meanwhile their PK at home is around 50%. How about that

Their moral is OP right now. I doubt next year they'll be as good. I'm really shocked by their performances this year. :D

Dumbest mistake was when/that Florida sacked Gallant. ](*,)

I'm glad Gallant has success, I knew he could do it. I really liked him in MTL and if it wasn't from that stupid non-written rule that they MUST hire a french-canadian coach/GM, Gallant should've been the guy replacing Therrien IMO. Until MTL gets over their past history, this team will never be on top since competent people coming from Quebec will be increasingly rare.

As for Florida they got what they deserved. They let both Gallant and Marchessault go. (Though it's not the same situation for the both of them) I'm sure they're regretting it now.

TIL Gallant is not French-Canadian.

He has a pretty French-sounding name (I mean, come on), and I knew played in the "Q" as a junior... so I just always assumed he was in fact French-Canadian. I grew up watching him on the Red Wings even, back before they were good, so it's not like I was unfamiliar with the guy. A very young Yzerman, Gallant, Klima, Ogrodnick, Chiassion... those were my favorite guys growing up.

But nope he was born on PEI. Who knew ?!

Ha! I know it can be confusing sometimes. I thought alot of players in the NHL with french sounding names were all from Quebec or France back in the days but I was so wrong. :-p Especially with Ontario close to us were alot of people speak french and english. Like Claude Giroux for example.

Of course MTL beats the best team in the NHL! Gotta admit, I haven't watch alot of games this season but I'm glad I did tonight. Very good offensive games (not in goals scored though) but the intensity and the back and forth were there all game long.
