Does Turco's contract end to this season? Maybe Dallas is good choice

Yeah both Turco and Aulds' contracts are up in the summer. Turco hasn't had a good year and Auld is outplaying him lately.

He's been in alot of rumors since last year trade deadline, with Pavelec making a decent job i wouldn't be surprise if he is trade. but if he is staying healty with is new team, i think maybe the Thrashers will regret it.

How badly does a player want out? When he turns down a 12 year $101 million contract!

I begin to wonder What the Dickens is going on there, if Kovalchuk does not want to play with Atlanta anymore, just say it and you will be trade instead of always negociating.

Yeah, it's obvious that he wanted out of Atlanta and into a bigger hockey market. I just don't see why he strung them along. He should have just told them that he didn't want to re-sign there.

I despise greedy players. Is he negotiating to squeeze out every single penny the Thrash will offer him. Cut him lose and no1 sign him during Free Agency. He'll soon regret turning that down...

If only in real life that could actually happen.

I'm wondering if Waddell and the Thrashers are hurting themselves in their Kovalchuk trade negotiations. They're making pretty steep demands. They had a lot of teams interested but they're asking for an awful lot for a rental player and now a lot of teams are backing off and cooling their interest. If some other deals get made before a Kovalchuk deal, I wonder if there will be less interest in Kovalchuk and then maybe Atlanta might not get as much out of the deal as they would have before.

Waddell has been hurting the Thrashers for years.

That's a fact.

I'm a past STH of the Thrashers and we've felt that way for years. He should have been bounced for the Zhitnik-Coburn deal back in '06-'07.

Waddell is as big a moron as Phaneuf. Of course he is screwing himself. "Hey guys, Kovalchuk rejected my blank cheque....now someone give me 6 top players, 2 draft picks for him. What is that you say? You want to talk contract with him? Um....no cannot let you do that"

Correction...he is as big a moron as Phaneuf. Oh, and rumour has it he will get Coburn back from Philly if he makes the Kovi deal with them.

As for Kovalchuk being greedy---No he is not. He is just working the market for what he can get. And he won't get quite as much from a championship calibre team. He cannot do it alone, he knows it...and if he says yes to a deal like that in Atlanta...he will never win.

I've got maybe the name of ONE player involved in the trade....Oduya.....ehhh, this already looking like a dump Waddell trade to me. :-D Poor Thrashers.

Cant beleive he is going to the devils. Still waiting to see what Atlanta got in return.

Oduya, Bergfors, Tedenby and a first is the latest out there. I guess Waddell will draft a Swede with that pick :-D

Bergfors it's ok, that sweden guy i don't know him and the pick not bad, but nothing to rebuild the team, i hope they will finish last a couple of times to get good players for the upcoming drafts. If the concession survive......

It may be Palmieri or Cormier instead of Tedenby

Cormier indeed, along with Oduya, Bergfors, and the 1st round pick.

Yes the trade as been confirm and it's Cormier who's been added to the trade. Well, another trade that prove that Waddell is the worst GM in the league, the trade so far doesn't look better than the Hossa trade to me, maybe of the exception of Bergfors, who's more talented than Armstrong or Esposiwho.

Too much to give up for a rental IMO. Bad deal for both teams.

I'm not sure he will be a rental. He has to sign for someone. Why not New Jersey? It looks like he wanted to leave Atlanta as they weren't contenders (Why else wud he turn down a monster contract). Now he's in a team that can challenge for cups...
