Since the "toondate", there's no more shrink-to-fit for the photos

Awesome! It only took one day to learn Basic Detective

The downside is that I caught a cold off my master and so my fitness has taken a big hit
The toons design hasn't ruined it too much for me but I still don't like it. The poor borderless design is what really get me. The page looks half-finished now. I hope they realise and do something about that. That's is why TBL always has borders. When designing the current TBL site design, I originally had it without borders and it looked awful!
It only took one update for Palmer to learn Showmanship from April. You've got to love it when you catch on quickly! Unfortunately, I don't gain stars that quickly.
I totally agree on the borderless look. I'm a freak with Excel (I use it constantly), so I'm all about borders and such.

Call me Negative Nancy, but I don't like the new look, and direction, at all.
All the fun in this game came from the "simulation" of being a rising musician. Now it's... it's... it's the Flintstones or something. I even took pride(and had fun) in creating real graphics for my band to add to the simulation... now I just feel like an idiot for having real-world pictures representing cartoon stuff.
Plus, the design is just really... bad... and open. - The lack of borders is gonna kill me, unless I boot-up Excel and go on a border spree(maybe you can join me, bruins

)

I don't like the way women are represented, it's all about breast and sexy outfit. I miss the old generic picture for female characters, way more class than this.
Too much caricaturalistic to me, same for the gangsta rapper (just add Jar-Jar voice

)...
Finally, i'm not sceptic about the new look, I DO NOT like it at all..
EDIT: B.Stinson. Negative Nancy is sexy

keep on ranting

I'm waiting for them to inform us if this is a bug or a knee-jerk reaction to never testing any of their ideas before they unleash them. They don't have a great history of thinking things through before instituting them. I also have absolutely zero respect for any member of this dev team quite frankly.
Jonas came into the thread in development to say:
Jonas Holtenerberg wrote:As much as people hate this implementation/change they'll love part two of it... so we're not listening to the pointless whining. We do listen to all constructive criticism though.
Nice... then don't ask for people's opinion. Come out and declare it's your way or the highway but you can't have it both ways. We'll only listen to what we want to and declare the rest pointless whining is not the tact I'd take here. IT's the gods on a mountaintop approach I dislike so much, you are all just to the nameless insignifigant peasants that are there for us to toy with. Now bow down to our great new innovations!!

Whoa... wait... did they honestly say that?
...They're gleefully dismissing the 99% negative feedback as "pointless whinning"? This is a public game, isn't it?

That is a direct quote.
And also the two biggest proponents of the 'new look' are not surprisingly both editors of It's Popo so they have vested interests in people not trashing the game

They've said brilliant things like:
"It's just the people that don't like it that are posting, it doesn't matter how many people have said they don't like it, it's a skewed sample as people who like it haven't come on to complain"
"It's (the 500+ messages now) just the same 10 people that don't like it saying the same thing over and over..."

(Interesting spin and complete untruth there, there's easisly 250
different users that have posted that they don't like it.)
and my favorite to date:
"If you can't offer any ideas of what you would do differently then your post is pointless" because you know, it's not like they asked for our opinion or anything. Nice way to go about coming up with a reason that people that don't agree with you should shut up. I'm not a site designer or game designer so I can't nor can anyone really suggest how they'd redesign the game, we're just not qualified to do so. Also, it's not our job... it's theirs and they have obviously made a giant screw up by not asking and/or listening to what the community (ya know the people that are PAYING to play?) might want or think about a redesign.

Just because we can't put forth a different and/or better idea doesn't make our opinions pointless, we know we play this game and can say we dislike changes that have been made.

Feh, you guys care to much. You get what you pay for, and it most peoples cases, thats nothing. Sure the dev's sound like dicks, but you don't have to pay em again when your VIP expires.

Just look at this picture at Stockholm:
Stockholm picture
I can tell you, this is not how it is in Sweden, maybe at some weird parties, but NOT in general. I hate it.
Go back to the old design.

I don't particularly care for the style, but at the same time I don't think it will take away anything in the game from me.
As for the forums, I do believe that only the people upset are posting. Take a few minutes to look at the Worldofwarcraft forums, 8 million subscribers, and i'd wager 100,000 of them post on the forums, and when they do it's usually attacking the devs, the product, etc, it's REAL ugly. So, I never read forums for games anymore becuase you really really do get a one sided feedback.

No matter how one-sided the complaints are, or how many people may actually like the new style...
everyone must concede that this is nothing but a terrible design:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/bs ... design.jpg
... Light colors on light colors with no borders to distinguish them... text-boxes are only a quarter occupied, with the other three-quarters being empty space... the picture is smaller than the space given to it, creating huge gaps right in the middle of the page... no designs or enhancements of any kind... Personally, I look at it and just wonder how something that messy made it through to the final stage.
Oh well, enough ranting for me I guess. Clearly they're madly in love with what they've done, so all I can do is hope they don't mess it up further, or start messing with the game itself.

Messing with the game itself? I think they've already started doing that. There has been more focus on politics and city management rather than music over the past few months. They're trying to turn it into a virtual world that just happens to have a lot of musicians. The music doesn't seem to be the focus anymore. And as "interesting" as all these new mysterious gates and such have been, it really doesn't have much do with what the game is supposed to be about.

Unbelievable! Guess what happened to my new job this time?
I got a raise! from 1700$ to 2400$ per week.
Un-friggin-believable!!

Is it just me or does thecoolstuff's character look like he's going to die?!
Oh, and here's a great example of how god-awful the new design looks:

Have you hit your head? Or did you change your money to pesos or something maybe?
I see this on you character page right now:
Unbelievable, my boss actually gave me a salary raise to 1 200 US$.
Also in a related note, I offered you a job and even a skill book for that job... I guess it wasn't good enough for you though so you never even bothered to respond?

Yeah that's how I'll be responding the next time you ask me for something.

Boy, I bet you feel silly now, thecoolstuff. Want to clear this up for the rest of us? How did you wind up with a salary of $2400 when your character page clearly shows you make HALF that amount. Not trying to be rude, just curious like Minty.
Cheers.

Hey...Calv: The Canadian $ is now 90 cents to a US dollar...so double? I thought you were taking math.
