Yeah, I remember that there was a Nigerian player in NHL and Aliu is much too young because I saw Ndur in EA Sports' NHL 99 or something. :-D

I remember Ndur from NHL 2003. He was the worst player of Thrashers with an overall of 58. (Those who aren't familiar with EA's hockey games, overall is between 99 and 50.)

It would be interesting to see some stats or figures to show that this venture into Europe is paying off for the league. Maybe it is, since they're upped it to six teams this time. But it would be interesting to see what this is doing for not only those franchises involved, but the league as a whole.

On the AHL front, Carolina's farm team in Albany is relocating to become the Charlotte Checkers for next season. Maybe the ECHL's Checkers can move to Georgia and become the Macon Bacon.

Edmonton's farm team will be in Oklahoma City, and I do hope they bring back the Blazers nickname.

Anyway, speaking of those exotic countries, North Korea, Mongolia, Armenia, Turkey, Mexico all have national teams. Oh boy, I would love to see an exhibiton between those. Talk about quality. And maybe a Canada - Mongolia match up :-D

Did someone see what happen to Gorges yesterday? I was watching the game and was pretty shock by it, i was thinking of the worst, but guess what.....he was back on skate today for practice! :-D Not so bad finally.....

Another thing i want to had is the way the players of the Capitals act during this, they were really classy i think. They stay near him to watch and everyone was looking worried, i really never saw this before. Just 2-3 seconds after he get shot Brendan Morrison was already calling the medic....usually i never see somebody on the other team do that. :-D When he get up we can see some players of the Caps at the bench smiling and knock their sticks on the ice. Anyway, that was cool from the Caps i think. =D>

Great block Josh Gorges. Being hit in the head from a stray slapshot of the boards is one thing. Taking a Mike Green slapper full on is another. I was dazed by being hit off the boards.

Players should be made to wear some sort of facial protection! (I know batdad will argue me on this but...)

No Getz not going to argue...they should.

However..they are adults...their choice.

He got the slap behind the head, near the left ear. They should have more something around the neck, but it's hard to find something enough confortable to play.

Meh...the kids have no problem with the neckguards. You get used to them. Still although they are good...they are not perfect.

Good man! :-D

I understand they are adults. But it should be a league rule. It's only a matter of time before a puck seriously injures someone and destroys their career, or even kills them.

Anyone know the outcome to Gorges?

Nothing will be enough perfect, but at least if it can prevent something like this, why not.

He was back at the training today as i said earlier. It was looking more bad than it was, still, when i was watching the game, i was really shocked when it happen, especially when i see the blood on the ice, i was expecting so much more than that.

Any incident is bad when the opponents stop play and call for the trainer.

What's up with the Red Wings. They can't buy a win. Totally dominated the Sharks today. But still lose in a SO. :-?
