I hope so! It's so boring seeing the same 4 or 5 teams every year at the playoff finals weekend.

Yeah I was very pleased with that result too! It's nice to see the likes of Nottingham, Cardiff and Coventry not in the finals weekend for once.

I think it'll be a really interesting weekend. I'd put my money on Belfast or possibly Sheffield, but I think there's every chance Braehead or Fife could cause an upset (as they have during much of the season).

Haha I thought you'd be in a good mood! :-D

Of all the playoff weekends I've attended, this one was by far the best. All three games were highly entertaining and any team could have won any of the games. Braehead were particularly unfortunate not to make it through. Usually the games are very cautious and relatively uneventful (especially the final), but this year the teams played entertaining, aggressive hockey. The final was thoroughly entertaining. Doyle probably won the Steelers the game as he made some really incredible saves.

The 3rd/4th place playoff game was better than last year's, but it was still pretty dull. It was non-contact end-to-end hockey. Most of the players were hungover from drinking after the semi finals (seeing as they don't have a final to play in, they all go out and get drunk after the semis). Apparently last year the players were throwing up behind the benches during the game! I didn't notice any of that yesterday, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was going on.

Anyhow, what a way to finish the season. Thrilling stuff!

£360 for a season ticket for next season might get one depends on how busy I'am with work in the run up to september

That's a bargain. I'm paying £200 per week for the Guildford Flames (who completely bombed in the EPL playoff weekend).

Btw, did you hear about the London Raiders' semi-final game last Saturday? The backup netminder (Frankie Sabine) attacked one of the spectators during the game. The spectator turned out to be Rupert Quiney who was watching his old team (Streatham) take on the Raiders. I don't know how many other players were involved, but Sabine has been sacked and the Raiders thrown out of the playoffs. My brother has been to a few Raiders games this season and tells me that Sabine has frequently been involved in fights (despite being on the bench). [-X

The Slough Jets are no more (well they'll still have a team in the NIHL-2; just not the EPL). So we're down to 9 teams in the EPL as of next season.

The rumours have been rife all season. The team has been running off the owner's deep pockets for a number of years. The attendances have been really poor for a long time. It's a real shame - I have always enjoyed seeing the Jets play (especially in the Hangar).
