Halifax is based on this concept from Sparky Chewbarky which I rather love...the goal is to have high quality logos and graphics to use and not just a cool name. If there are other team name ideas that also have top notch graphics work existing (and approved for use) then I would certainly consider them. And retro logos are always a good source. The Scouts already have a simple modern update of their logo and for the Thrashers, I'll simply use the original primary mark (and the dark blue sweaters, probably).

I will definitely listen to actual residents of these expansion cities the most so...that said, if you want classic...this would be the winner (obviously I'd use the version without the white outline on the road white jerseys):

Ukko - go for it! Can you make sure to use the fleur-de-lis in it?

Ok, new NHL36 database update as of 12/8/17 - includes the Dowd/Subban trade, general housekeeping updates as usual with depth charts and draft prospects plus some clean-up, re-ratings and contract updates in the Czech, DEL and NAHL.

Bigger news in this update is that I've (by popular request) reverted the Nordiques back to their original look. Logos (standard format) below. If you don't want to change the look, just don't use the logos below.

Classic Nordiques logos:

Classic Nordiques background (ice style to match the rest of the NHL36 backgrounds):

Also I've adjusted Seattle to use their maroon color as primary - I've done this mainly because when I start to look at some other NHL36 options (Portland is green and Hartford is going to use their green jerseys), there's going to be too many green teams. This gives Seattle more of a unique look.

You're just talking about the 1.2 database ZIP file? There should be a DB file and a CFG file in there and that's it. Not sure why it would be attempting to use an excel format. I just tried to download it and it is a normal ZIP file? Can you explain a little more and I will try to help you...?

Explain more please. You want to add more teams as in like 37 or 38 or 40? Or you just want to swap out teams so your 36 teams are different than mine?

The first one is extremely difficult because you have to create schedules.

The second one I can show you how to do pretty easily if that is what you mean.

First page with the downloads. There are also a few logo updates throughout the thread, you just have to go through it.

I've been playing this database for a while now, currently in the 2033-34 season.

I was lucky enough to draft Svechnikov and Lafreniere and it's pretty safe to say they have both carried my team, with some pretty crazy stats too.

Not had any player anywhere close to those two's ability but I my 2nd Overall Pick in 2028, David Cotter, is definitely the best I've had since those two.

Well I had the idea to extand it to 42 team with using team from the top Quebec Senior league ( where Mirasty/Bosse played 6-8 years ago )

but if you said that you need to create a new schedule .. im not going furthermore with that im gonna make a mess

The schedule for 42 teams should be relatively straight forward in that everyone plays everyone else twice to make 82 games.

I haven't downloaded the editor yet as I'm hoping the official one that Riz has been working on won't be too far away, does anyone have an update on when that might be? How easy is it to edit league structures in terms of number of divisions, playoff format etc? Could you also change the number of games if you wanted to?

Schedule is by far the hardest part - the rest is relatively straight-froward in archi's editor. You simply need to make sure you cross your t's and dot you i's. Most crashes from editing are relatively minor mistakes - you just have to be very thorough. You can easily change the number of games played as long as your schedule dates/templates sync up.

I'd contend a 42-team schedule is not that easy if you want to make it realistic in terms of divisional and conference rivalries. Simply playing every other team twice will result in a less rivalries, less conference intrigue, etc. At that point divisions cease to matter except as an organizing tool for playoff seeding, and where's the fun in that?

MAJOR UPDATE

NHL36 v2.0 Released
Find all the files on the TBL NHL36 Thread Downloads Section:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=18491#p230353

- All the usual updates and tweaks.
- Most importantly, the new NHL36 alternate databases are all LIVE.
- All database ZIP files now include the appropriate Expansion Draft quick start...for example if you are playing as the Toronto Toros in the "City Lights" database, run the Expansion Draft file that is in the City Lights ZIP and you will be good to go. The Expansion Draft files will from now on always be in the ZIP file of each database.
- When the Original database gets updated, I will also always post fresh alternate databases...they will all always include the same real life updates.

Don't forget to grab logos and backgrounds for the alternate databases on the first post download section as well. There is an update file for both logos and backgrounds.

Enjoy and let me know if there are any issues (aside from the known ones) - it's a lot of files for me to keep straight!
