Tasku wrote:I understand the amount of work you must've put on that list, and respect you for it, it is much appreciated, but the fact remains that up to this point this update was solely for the NHL and there was no time or energy to start sliding from there to a whole another league.
You can rest assured that if we'll take AHL into this update (and I'm pretty sure eventually we will), this info you provided us with, will be looked upon and applied to the update.
Thanks.
That's actually a refreshing amount of maturity. If you need help with it lemme know, I've been part of the community since they days of that weird finnish website, and Smetana would make the only updates.

Hey Zeppelin--so you know...we are doing some AHL work, and your points have been taken into consideration...They are just not in the file yet. We will get there I think though, just not sure when. Tasku has not mentioned it because he has not worked on it. I think he wanted me to mention it..so there you go.
Unfortunately, we will not be creating Tsimikalis because we are not creating players at this time. However...I have a list of AHL players I compiled that signed with every team, and when we move to that league..we will get there.
So you know..Smetana will not likely have done AHL anyway..he has said several times he is sticking to NHL. But one never knows, and different strokes for different folks. His update will be just as valued..and yes he has done excellent work in the past.

We've been here since 2004, so we're no newcomers either
Anyways, I'll keep your offer in mind, you clearly have good knowledge of the AHL, perhaps you'll help will come useful at some point.

Great with the new version
But Ive notised that Joel Lundqvist isnt in Dallas Stars. How come? And Nick Folingo and Lee isnt in Ottawa Senators, and Nicklas Bäckström isnt contracted witch Washington Capitals...

Gottschlich--This has been said 1000 times, and I will say it again. Players who are young and have junior eligibility left, are not getting contracts, because when the 2007-08 rosters are in play for EHM....the season is still 2006-07..so we did not give young guys contracts in almost every case...because we are concerned it may affect development. INdividual GMs who wish to sign these prospects can do so.
I am not sure why we have to answer this question so often...the answer is all over the place. We made the call to not have the 2007 draft done, and not have young players with junior eligibility contracted to their NHL teams...because of the concern over proper development.
And finally...the answer to this question is also in the readme file for the download of the rosters.
The answers are there for the most part.

When I start a game with the database I get this message "V3.0.2 db_files. cpp 1809"
What should I do about that?

Only with this database or with any database?
Don't know what to do about that, mine works fine...

I was just wondering if you are going to add the new Colorado Avalanche AHL affiliate the Lake Erie Monsters? By the way I just wanted to thank you guys for all your hard work on this game if you guys didn't do this the game wouldn't even be playable so I just want to say Thanks.

I cannot fathom the hours you all must put in to complete the projects you set forth for yourselves. It's amazing and as a fan, I would like to insure you that I greatly appreciate your efforts. I sincerely thank you all.
I do have a couple of requests that I'm hoping can be filled out. With the recent TBL Roster update released, there are some outdated titlepanels for the Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets. I was hoping that we could get the updated titlepanels completed for these two teams.
I replied:
By "outdated titlepanels" I assume you're talking about team colours?
The scene was getting impatient waiting, so I decided to release the rosters ASAP, and some of them might've left unupdated.
If I'm not completely in the woods, thought, I think Washington's colours are just right in the file: blue, red and white, right?
Not sure about Columbus, can't recall what their new colours are...

Thanks! Good to hear you enjoy it.
Since Lake Erie doesn't exist in the game, it would have to be created and added to the AHL, and that is possible only if there's room in the league - if another team has folded. It is also uncertain how the game reacts to this - it might crash, burn and explode, god forbid.
But we'll definately look into this, test it, see if works etc. later on, as we move to updating other leagues.
So far we've only changed affiliates to teams that already exist in the game database, as you might've noticed.
Only with this Database.
Hmm... you've isntalled it correctly, yes?
Version 1.1 should be coming out in a matter of couple of weeks - we're waiting for users to find mistakes in this one, and then we'll correct them for the next release. Maybe you should wait for the new version, and see if it will work better on your computer?

Okay, I re-installed it and when I go to start a new game it doesn't give me an option to chose which database to use.

by Tasku
If you only have one database at ehm/data/database then it doesn't give you the option, it will automatically load the only one you have.
Looks like to me, that you overwrote your previous database, or you put it completely in the wrong place.
Does it work now? Go look at your roster, see if they're up to date.

Do I extract the TBL NHL Roster Update in the database folder?

Yes...

Minor issues about the Red wings:
1. Grigorenko isnt signed. He has a 1Y, 858K contract. Currently in Grand Rapid Griffins.
2. Koopmans and Stafford are not loaned out. They are both in Grand Rapid Griffins.
Just started a game with the wings
Thanks for releasing in time

Should it look like this?

Thanks, Lidas, I'll fix that right out.
Here's the changelist so far done for upcoming version 1.1. Few things I noticed myself aswell, right after release...
• Fixed Lyle Odelein’s retirement - error in Config File.
• Fixed Tampa Bay’s affiliation with Mississippi Sea Wolves - Sea Wolves exist in the game, but were not playing in any league.
• Updated Mississippi Sea Wolves roster to give team some players, because roster was empty
(Players signed to Mississippi: Mark Hurtubise from Long Beach Ice Dogs, Torry Gajda from Cincinnati Cyclones, Bill Kinkel from Florida Everblades, Jon Booras from Bloomington Prairie Thunder, Mark Rooneem, Travis Lisabeth from Phoenix Roadrunners, Chase Trull from Muskegon Fury, Justin Cross from Kalamazoo Wings, Lance Monych, Mike Folk from New Mexico Scorpions, Chris Cava from Trenton Titans, Jason Slusher from Pee Dee Cyclones, Matthew Deschamps from Charlotte Checkers and Michael Couch from All Stars Piemonte.)
• Signed Igor Grigorenko from Lada Togliatti to Detroit Red Wings

Yes, Mo9. Now you should have the option of either choosing default database, or the updated rosters database.
Posted: Mon Oct 08, 2007 2:48 am
by Mo9
Yeah, but it still doesn't give me that option, it just loads the old default roster.

by Tasku
In that case, if you like, you may overwrite your default with the updated roster, by moving all files from the roster update folder ontop of the default roster in the database folder.
You can get the default back by re-applying the latest patch.
You do have the latest patch, don't you? Should be version 3.0.4, file name is 469.

• Teams that had affiliation changes had their players left in their former affiliation teams as loan, fixed.
I'll be carrying this list along as new stuff come to light.
Just noticed the reason why Detroit had two players loaned out - they were accidentally left to Detroit's original affiliate team. This is no biggy. The computer seems to handle this well, while playing the two most affected teams: Tampa and Edmonton, who had their AHL affiliate changed, and human players can call them back from loan without any problem (I hope).

by Lidas
Yep, thats why.
Ive seen some other players too with same problems. Would be good if it could be fixed for v1.1.
Im at work right now, so I can't check which players that are effected, but it happens for one of the two following reasons:
1. Team affiliate has changed, but the affiliate the player is in hasnt been updated.
2. Player playing in affiliates in the old DB, has been signed by other NHL team, but affiliate left un-updated.
Easy to check though... just go through all NHL teams, check the
blue players, and confirm what team they are in
- they could be loaned out too...
Ill do it when I get home unless someone does it before me.

I already went thru all the teams that had their affiliates changed and fixed them, so that'll be all good in version 1.1.
Not sure about theory numbet two though. To my knowledge, if you change the players contract by clickin on the "Club Contracted" field, the editor will also change the "Club Playing For" field at the same time, even if the player was playing in farm team previously.
