Yeah, now if ever is the time for team Finland to overcome the obstacle named team Russia. And yes, its like a derby match up, there's so much rivalry between finnish and swedish hockey. And besides, what would be a tournament without finland vs sweden anyway? ;>

I'm kind of glad to hear other people don't get why he seems to be the building block/foundation of USA hockey... he had this reputation and personna in the US as built up by the Stars and Team USA that I've never quite felt is deserved. Let's face it, the guy is no Steve Yzerman but you'd be amazed at the way the Dallas media and Team USA talk about him.
I hear someone on one of the latenight "wrap up" shows for the Olympics say that the Olympics are amazing mainly because of that "human condition" element, which isn't really a new observation. What I thought was very fitting was the they went on to say that the Olympic experience/pressure often make people be what they are to exaggerated degrees. It's an amplifier of your personailty and conduct.
If you're kind of a jerk the Olypmics will make you a monster. If you are a positive person and things go south for you you'll try even harder to not let it get you down and find those positives. If you are an excuse maker or a braggart the excuses and bragging will just get bigge. People that are know to be a leader and inspiration you will shine even more brightly in both roles.
It's not always true of course but I think this year especially it seems to be true more often than not. Welcome to the club Mikey!

Yeah, espacially if you remember Sweden's 6-5 victory against Finland a couple of years ago.

Well, its gonna be Sweden - Finnland in the goldmedal game!!!
Great game and I think its also fair, they have been by far the two best teams in the olympics!!!
I also liked Slovakia...and of course my old buddies from SWITZERLAND!!!

One of them is a childhood friend of mine, we lived in the same little city!!!
Good luck for both teams and may the best win!!!

Thats something long forgotten (and for a good reason too, don't want to see that again).
And yea, great game by Finland. They totally eliminated the great individuals, and above all, scored enough to get the motivation off from the Russians. GO FINLAND!

My money is on Finland. The hockey gods will punish the Swedes for tanking against Slovakia. Just you watch.

That's right!
Sweden will win. Sure the match against Slovakia was embarrasing, but it actually lead to the final.

Russia have great individuals, like Ovechkin, Kovalchuk etc., but Sweden is playing more like a team.

Hehe, thats true. It'll be a great match no doubt.
It's kinda cool, that atm they're setting up huge screens and a stage downtown Helsinki, so everyone can go out and see the match from these screens. And, regardless of the outcome, team finland will fly right after the game to helsinki, and will arrive to finland around 00:30, and after that they'll be on the stage to celebrate, hopefully a gold medal

I hope they're going to celebrate a silver medal.
If Sweden wins I would like to go to Stockholm to celebrate, too bad that I live 150 kilometres from Stockholm.

Great game by Finland, I thought Finland would win the game. They were the best team in the tournament.

Congrats to the Swedes on the Forums! It's a shame the Finns didn't win but it sounds like they went out fighting
I had planned to watch the game but ended up playing golf in the freezing cold and rain.

I'll have to watch the highlights later on today.
