I'm guessing he'll be getting the second biggest "BOO" from the crowd tonight.

Lol Certainly. :-D

For the hit on Seabrook McQwak maybe you're right that it's equal for both side now. But I don't know if a charge like this is valuable for a suspension. Personnaly he hit him like face to face not from behind, it make a huge difference to me.

Not equal. Seabrook hit on Perry was bad, yes. But the hit on Seabrook by Wisniewski was disgusting. Arms up to the head.. no puck anywhere near the play. Pure revenge motivation..every hallmark of a cheap shot, save the blind side. Brutal. Both should be suspended. Seabrook likely won't be since he is going to be out a bit anyway due to the likely concussion (since he was out cold). Wisniewski definitely will be. He has been in the past, and he will again.

Face to face makes this hit different from OVechkin, Cooke, Richards yes...but the arms up to the head and the puck is not even playable by Seabrook makes this a horrid hit.

Guys--You need to realize that there are different types of bad hits. Not just blind side not just hits from shoulder to head...this is basically a BRUTAL intereference or roughing or charging...brutal hit.

Well not OR, it is interference AND charging AND roughing :D
Yeah it's a dirty cheapshot and worthy of a suspension but a part of me understands Wisniewski's reaction. I don't think I'd be too upset if one of my team's players did the same under those circumstances.

Quote of the day. I'm all for a revenge hit. But not purposely trying to hit someone like that. I don't like Wizniewski.

I would not be upset if Wiz went after him man to man. He did not. He blatantly ran out of position (no way a dman should be running in from the blue line behind the net like that) and jumped up at full speed with arms up into Seabrook's head. That is Steve Downie, Matt Cooke territory.

Surprised to see it from Wiz..especially against the Hawks. I would have expected to see Wiz skate in and have a little chat with Seabrook and then go at it man to man. But no...Wiz knows Seabs is one of the toughest SOB's in the NHL, so he cheap shots him. Lame.

Lamer still--The fact that Nick Boynton and Duncan Keith. The new guy and your star defensemen are the guys who go and scrap Wiz during the game. Boynton? Jesus its his first game as a Hawk...and he was last in Anaheim. Ugh.

And Keith? With Buffy and Brouwer both on the ice? What? Where are those guys...that is part of their job..not Duncan's.

The Hawks are now down to this as Campbell, Seabrook and Johnsson are all hurt.

Keith-Hjalmarsson
Hendry-Sopel
Byfuglien (going to have to move back)-Boynton
Cullimore (still in Rockford)

That is bad bad news for Hawk fans. Hopefully Seabrook is not too serious. (Ie somehow managed to avoid concussion--highly doubt it)

Didn't he come back and finish the game ?
Maybe someone claims Cullimore off re-entry just out of spite heh

Whoops..it was Eager on the ice not Fluffuglien. Even worse. That is what Eager is paid to do, and Keith has to?

Hawks are playing it out waiting for playoffs. Going to cost them They go bye bye 1st round if they do not smarten up soon.

I just see the hit one time on TV, I didn't saw that Wiz got the hands right on the head. Then it deserve a suspension for sure. It was really the first time since I watch hockey that I see a defencemen make something like that. Full speed from the blue line right on somebody like that ouch! Yes, the puck wasn't near of him, even if he got the puck, it wouldn't make a difference to me.

The Flyers to are in trouble for the playoff.....if they able to make it there. :-D Leighton is out for the rest of the season, the Flyers who got already issues in the net are worst then ever now, Boucher will have to do miracles to keep the team in the playoff race.

Don't get me wrong, i'm all for the suspension. But how can Wizniewski get suspended for 8 games, where-as many before have gone totally unpunished.

I can imagine the league having a random generator that makes up the suspensions random for every player in the league! It's a bit stupid!

We've talk about this earlier and as I said, this conversation could be endless! We will always have questions or doubts. All of this is weird but what could we do about it. :dunno:

I'd be willing to bet that with all the bad publicity from the no suspension hits that should have had suspensions, the NHL will be really throwing the suspensions around at least until the playoffs so they can say..... well, look- we really are trying to control violence.

Man, they need the 2000 Brian Boucher! Maybe he'll turn back into that at the start of another new century! :-p

They definitely should have gotten another goalie at the deadline. Bad luck for Leighton though. I was hoping he could carry the Flyers and have an opportunity to be the number 1 goalie of an NHL team next season. Hope someone gives him a chance (like Craig Anderson and Kipper).

I wish there was a bit more fights with Cooke though, but of course, Campbell was there and they couldn't do much.

There was no revenge. This was expected anyway, the Bruins didn't show much of a reaction after the Jones-Bergeron incident either. I'm gonna stop at this point, most of the words I'd have used are censored anyway.

Yeah, what a disappointment. A small scrap between Thornton and Cooke and that was it for action against Cooke. Chara finally dropped the gloves later and that still wasn't enough to inspire this team. I had such high hopes for them after last season but this season has been nothing but disappointment.

Ryan Kesler sign a contract of 6 years with the Canucks. Great news for them, after signing Sedin's brother and Burrows, they keep the core with all of them.

It looks like any chance for the Hurricanes to make it into the playoffs are over. Manny Legace got hurt in the game today against Pittsburg. He was bowled over by Fedetenko crashing the net well after the whistle. Legace played for about 42 more seconds before leaving at the next stoppage in play. Too bad for the Cane's but Peters is looking pretty good in his starts especially against my Capitals on Thursday.
