Just posted my stats for the first twenty games of season two.
I had some injury troubles on RW with Fischer and Vrbata both missing nine games (and counting, for Fischer). I started out using Murley as filler and later called up new arrival Ferriero who has done ok and managed a 0 +/- rating in 13 games playing on the third and fourth line. When Vrbata returned I waived Murley and kept Ferriero as Fischers temp.
Lisin got the opportunity to play on the second line and he wasn't all bad but I don't think he's ready for regular duty in that spot yet.
Other than that I discovered that Ballard and Michalek make a terrible D-pairing. I'm going with Yandle-Michalek and Ballard-Boynton for the next 20 to see if that works better. I have also made some experimental adjustments to my second PP unit.

I've played only 10 games so far, and it's a pretty brutal start! 2-6-2. Of course, with only 21 players on the roster, i have a lack of backups added to the lack of depth, which make injuries horrible, especially when York goes down for 2 weeks. I ended playing with Roche (RD) on the left wing. Surprisingly, he did a decent job there. Anyhow, i can't wait to see York back, as neither Murley or Gratton can really fill the 2nd line LW spot. Sjöström is doing well. Very well. So well that he even stole the 1st line spot to York in pre-season and still racks up the points. As long as he does, he keeps the first line.
Jovo and Boynton are deceptions so far, while Morris is doing great. Of course, Jovo and Boynton are in my core, while Morris is not

I put Jovo down on the second pair for a game, just to see how he would react after a bunch of 7's matches. Result: a 10! Welcome back to the top pair... for now...
Aebisher is doing well. Slightly over .900 despite facing about 35 shots per game. Auld let 11 pucks in in just 2 games.
Offense is average, defense sucks, special units suck... Hmm... I'm looking for the draft

oh yeah...and Jovo was an all-star, that;s it. York was 3rd in scoring at the time fo selection...and nothing....just Jovo.

Yeah, the All-Star selections are a joke. I had Jovo as my lone representative at the All-Star Game too... even though Reinprecht was leading the league by a decent margin at the time of the selections and York wasn't too far behind him. Yet somehow they were still overlooked.

Season 1 finished here. I surprisingly defeated Sharks in the first playoff round, and lost against Flames in SD in the 7th game.
Brought home alot of individual trophies though.
- Doan took Art Ross, Hart, and Maurice 'Rocket' Richards.
(67G, 63A, 130P, 9.11AVG)
- Jovocop took Norris.
(17G, 36A, 53P, 8.39AVG)
- York took Lady Byng (and Art Ross runner up)
(52G, 73A, 125P, 18PIM)
- Doan, Jovocop, and Morris were in First All Star Team
- Kaigorodov became Rookie of the year in AHL. First all star team
Not satisfied at all with the draft though... I had 18th and 19th pick. All the goodies were taken already

I got very lucky with the draft..Won the lottery and got 1st pick..Anaheim kinda sucked in my game
In playoffs I had Jovo and Boynton injured,so didn't have any chance against Sharks in SF,handled Oilers in 7 though..

Hey guys...
When posting screenshots for injured players, please be sure to post these with your end of season stats. That is when we're checking to see if your core players have played their required number of games (or minutes for goalies). That's when we would look for your screenshot as proof of injury, excusing not meeting the requirements.
Thanks!
Yes, I posted that same thing in a few threads but I wanted to make sure everyone saw it.

Yes please makes it easier to find the shots. At first I Thought SJSharkz had messed up with his core...and had to go hunting for an Auld screenie.
Oh...and yes we do check things. I check the whole dang roster. Anything I see that is odd I look into. so don't bother trying to cheat...I catch it.
Even goalie minutes are easy to figure out from the stats roster. So just don't bother.

So I wrapped up the regular season for 06-07. I snuck my way into 1st place in the conference with 104 points, beating out both the Flames and the Oilers by 1 point. The Devils won the President's Trophy though. They had 106 points over in the East. Auld was my starter for most of the season but he started faltering in second half, so Aebischer started getting more chances to start. They ended up with almost identical GAAs and SV%'s but Auld had more starts and a better record. Reinprecht just missed out on leading the league in points for the season. He had 126 but Marleau had 127. York came in 4th with 118. York lead the team with 52 goals and Reinprecht followed with 50. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the results I got out of this team in the first season.
Now I've just got to play my playoffs game so I can post my stats. I've got the Kings in the first round.

Okay..quick note for OLD SCHOOLERS:
Not sure if it is in the major rules or not, but please post your PLAYERS IN AND OUT at
1. 20 game stats reporting
2. end of season stats reporting.
We need it at both points in order to verify your rosters for scoring in the challenge.
Thanks

I had thought that Auld was struggling towards the end of the season (I think I overplayed him and now he's junk until next season), so I went with Aebischer in net for the playoffs. 3 games and 3 wins in and I think I made the right choice. He's allowed 4 goals in those 3 games.

Well... for a brief moment, I thought I was going to dominate in the playoffs. I swept my first round opponents, the Kings. I started with a shutout in my first game and only allowed 1 goal in the second game. I won the other two by a nice margin.
Next up was the San Jose Sharks. I've had some battles with these guys all season long. They acquired Shanahan early in the season and were tearing it up ever since. Shanny teamed up with Marleau and the two of them terrorized the NHL. Marleau ended up beating my man Reinprecht out for the league scoring title by just a point and Shanny was just 2 points behind Reinprecht. They even had Joe Thornton with over 100 points too. These guys were dangerous! We won the first two games at home. Then we lost the next 2 games in San Jose. Afer that I decided to go back to Auld figuring that maybe Aebischer had lost his touch. We won that next game at home. Then it was back to San Jose with Auld in net again but this time he couldn't save us. So with the series tied 3-3, we headed back home to Phoenix. Auld got the start again. The game went back and forth but unfortunately, in the end it was 4-3... in favor of the Sharks. They just had a little more scoring working for them than us and that was the difference. So we ended our first season with 7 playoff wins and plenty to build off of.

Well done B72,
Just a quick note about screenshots. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not take down any screenshots from this challenge. I ask you to please leave them up linked to the stats section. We can't guarantee we will get to them right away. I have noticed that some people are taking them down. SO honestly, I have no idea what they are B72, and I (and whoever else helps out) need them to confirm that you are playing by the rules. Without them, we will not necessarily be able to.
Thanks

So York's challenge of the Scoring title is over, being tied with Kovolchuk with games in hand no less....and he's out for about 10 days, and now Kovolchuk has a 13 point lead...on the other hand Reinprecht is only 3 points behind York for the team lead now. Playoffs at this point are a possibility, it's very tight race so I probably won't know until the last few days of the season.
As of right now we're in 8th one point beind 7th, there are 5 points seperating 7th from 12th.

I got to the halfway point of season two yesterday and if Sjöström was the pleasant surprise last season he has been the disappointment so far for this one. He has only picked up 7+18 in 41 games with a -1 rating.
Reinprecht (13+24) was out for five games and Kaigorodov (14+23) stepped in to center the first line. Mueller was called up to center the third line and second PP as Zigomanis was moved to second. Mueller picked up 1+4 in the five games he played.
Kaigorodov for first line center next season? Not impossible, right now Reinprecht does not want to discuss an extension.
Overall my first line has been good (Reinprecht may tie Kaigorodov in points but he is +23 and Kaigorodov is -8) while the rest of the team have been so-so. Neither Auld (10 wins, 9 losses, 3.22 gaa) or Aebischer (11 wins, 7 losses, 3.25 gaa) have convinced me that they deserve starter duty over the other... And now my scouts think LeNeveu is ready to be a NHL starter as well.
As if that wasn't enough of goaltending headaches Aebischer just went down with a two week injury and LeNeveu has turned waiver eligible. If I call up Tellqvist and he gets claimed when I send him back down I won't have an AHL goalie for next season unless I keep LeNeveu down there. If I call upp LeNeveu there's no way I can waive him... What to do, what to do?
I'll probably call up Tellqvist and keep him on the big club, he doesn't play enough i the AHL this season to be in game shape anyway so he might as well sit out of shape with the Yotes I guess.

Well Reinprecht passed York for the points lead on the 'Yotes, and ended up 2 behind Kovolchuk for the league lead...darn.
WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS! Wooo...third last game. 7th place. Kaigorodov is out for two weeks from that game though. Let's see if I can be the first to win the Cup

I can't really answer that but maybe one of the other mods or somebody can?
To be honest with you, I never put anything up in the image gallery here. IMO, there really isn't any need to. If you sign up for a free photobucket account, you can put your pictures there. I've been hosting my challenge screenshots there for a while now. As a matter of fact, I just went and looked. I've still got screenshots there from Challenge 2, my first challenge at TBL. They can still be checked out. It doesn't cost me a penny and it's easy to use. They've even made it easier to upload multiple files.
