If I'm looking in the correct place, I think its 1980x1080.

Can I also ask, are there any firewalls which do not clash with the game?

Thanks. :-)

With a 1980x1080 there shouldn't be any problem with running windowed mode. Have you tried using the shortcut without the -windowed -small_screen command and instead using the "Windowed Mode" setting in the Game Preferences screen?

Do you have any external monitors connected to your computer? I have seen in the past other users having difficulty with getting the game running simply because an external/second monitor was connected to the computer (unplugging the external monitor and rebooting Windows seemed to fix it). Another thing that has worked before is to ensure you have the latest video drivers installed. It sounds a bit unusual seeing as the game is so old, but it has fixed other users' problems before.

With regards to a firewall, I simply use the standard Windows 7 firewall in conjunction with MS Security Essentials (because it uses little memory/CPU resources) - neither seem to cause any problem. Alternatively, you can always add EHM to your list of exceptions in your firewall settings.

Ive tried using the game minus the windowed and it instantly goes to 1280x720. Because of this, I cant get to the Game Preferences screen as it ends up being too big for my screen and resolution. I've also tried using compatibility modes as well, with no luck.

I have no external monitors connected and all drivers are up to date.

I have also put EHM into the list of exceptions and it still doesnt work unless I completely uninstall the Firewall.

What graphics card do you have?

It almost sounds like the software that comes with your graphics card might be trying to auto-select the wrong resolution.

It appears to be an Intel HD Graphics Card.

Just bought ehm again in last week (have any idea where my license key is and i am too lazy to search it or contact)

So i did fresh ehm 2007 install to my computer, no any previous ehm2007 was installed.

It ran smoothly and asked for license so i bought it. But when i activated my license and tried to ran lisenced ehm for first time i go appcrash!

Well i not a big problem... i shutted down all firewalls, anti virus, anti spyware etc programs, but still no luck. Also removed unnecessary components from memory, played with compability mode, run as administrator, installed .dll's (game didn't complaing about them) and so on, but got appcrash every time.
So it is a big problem.

Soo any idea what could help?

Right now i think to setup virtual windows XP just for EHM, but i am afraid my laptop with cheapest i7 (august 2010) wouldnt run it very smooth. Also the usability would be :\

Have you installed the final v3.0.4 patch?

Btw, so long as you have a decent amount of ram (I'd say 4gb+), you should be fine running a virtual machine on an i7.

Yes i have installed 3.0.4 but i also tried without it, so was the default version 3.0.1 or something like that? Well anyway both of them gives APPCRASH.

Mm.. i have 8gb so maybe it could be playable. Never used virtual machine for gaming (Except dosbox) so how high performance drop should i expect?

Some drop, but an i7 with 8gb should be plenty of power.

Took 1hour+ to build proper Xp virtual machine for ehm and it seems to be very fast. + i have another copy of ehm simulating season in win7 =P~

SO! If you have good computer and spare XP license key this is most easiest way to run ehm 3.0.4 under w7

The -small_screen -windowed command should fix this (you shouldn't get an app crash)... :-k

Can you copy and paste the exact text from the Target section of your EHM Shortcut (right click on your Shortcut -> click Properties -> click on the Shortcut tab -> you'll see a box titled "Target")?

What file size is your ehm2007.exe file?

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\ehm2007.exe" -windowed -small_screen

and I've tried:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\ehm2007.exe" -small_screen -windowed

Neither work. I either get the loading sign then nothing, or just goes to massive screen and I cant change it.

Size of file is 9.08mb

Hmm I'm struggling with this one. My guess is that it might be a video card issue - but this really is just a guess.

If you're competent with computers, you could try updating your graphics drivers: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default ... ng&ProdId=

I wonder if you have dual video cards. You can check by going to Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters. For example, I have an Intel HD Graphics Card and a NVidia card - my laptop switches card according to what it's doing (e.g. if I load a game, it switches to the NVidia).

My Graphics Card is up to date. When I go down the route you suggest, it just has the Intel HD and nothing else.

Im at a complete loss as to what to do.

Thanks for all the help so far. Its much appreciated.

I'm really stumped with this one. ](*,) I doubt it's an issue, but I guess it is worth checking that you have the latest DirectX - but I doubt this is an issue seeing as how old EHM is...

We have had in the past issues caused by anti-virus software, firewalls and monitors (i.e. the actual hardware). Perhaps it doesn't like your monitor - but it is really hard to say.

I don't really have any other solutions to suggest, but if you have an old copy of Windows XP, you could install a virtual machine with XP on it. I have used VirtualBox before and it is pretty easy to setup and run. I don't whether you know anything about virtual machines, but it lets you install an operating system (such as XP) as a simple file within your existing operating system (i.e. it is completely self-contained and cannot harm/damage your main operating system or your computer). You could then install EHM within your virtual XP machine. This is what Mazello did quite recently: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 74#p145274

If you download the demo (click here), you can unlock it to the full version by entering your license key. When you run it for the first time, it will ask for your license number.

It changes the resolution and has black fields on the sides of the game. I can play it like that but it is annoying

It has black spaces because the game is fixed at 1024x768 which means that it doesn't fill the full width on a widescreen display (my widescreen display does the same). It is actually better to have the black bars than for the display to stretch it out to fill the width because the whole display will be distorted.
