I'm used to watch Souray who is in the same league when it comes to slapshots, but he never hits the crossbar so you just won't hear the loud *PLIIIIIIIIING* =D>

That will take out most of the gas Norway had at the start of the game.

Second goal, oh boy here it comes. Hopefully both teams stays competitive or else I will fall asleep due to complete boredom.... :-(

Wow chemistry was huge last night. That Bergeron-Crosby chemistry lasted a LONG LONG time. Like 3 shifts. Who knew Nash-Crosby-Iginla would have so much chemistry. Hmm..... :-D And yes..it was Norway, but it sure looked to me like those two QUICKLY-like their first shift together figured out chemistry. Man those star players are incapable. We should have left Bergeron with Crosby and brought in Kunitz and Dupuis to play with him.

Oh and Ice time...is not a stat you can find but it came up several times during the game. IF anyone can find those stats it would be appreciated. I am sure Niedermeyer and Keith played their normal amounts.

The TV coverage in Poland is outrageous where it comes to hockey. ](*,) Eurosport broadcasts only the last of the games each day, and here it's at 6am. That means I hardly get to watch any hockey at all. Figure-skating, mind you, gets full coverage. No words are strong enough to describe how p***** I am.

There you go. Like I said..ice time way down for all the guys save maybe Weber down 4 min.

Game 1 vs Norway-------NHL season

Dan Boyle 20:14 - 26:04
Shea Weber 19:40 - 23:17
Chris Pronger 19:08 - 26:02
S Niedermeyer 19:05 - 26:14
Duncan Keith 16:25 - 26:47
Drew Doughty 15:21 - 24:47
Brent Seabrook 08:45 - 23:51

Clearly a huge drop off, and should not come as a shock to anyone. But for some it may be. Pronger will not play 26 minutes in this tournament, neither will any of the other guys. The limited ice time allows them to play to a higher level than in the reg season or NHL playoffs. They do not have to hold anything back.

The same should be true for the other teams, save that they do not have as much depth as Canada.

Now Icetimer..I know it is just the one game but...as I said with the exception of possibly the semi final and final..this is the way it will be. There is not as much of a difference between Niedermayer and Seabrook as their is between say Niedermayer and Mikkelson...the ice time will be way more balanced so that each and every shift you get the best of the top notch player. It just cannot be any other way but.

You asked me how I knew
How do you know that players will play just 20 minutes in the Olympics, the top D pairings could still get 25-30 minutes.
And the above is the proof. It won't change for some time. Again, maybe 1 or 2 games at the most. It would be absolutely dumb to play Niedermayer or any of the others for 26 minutes when then you have to sit the others for longer. I get it with a Mikkelson but not with the quality Team Canada has. Most of the time if they get more than 20 minutes, it will be because they got stuck in their own zone too long on one shift.

Teemu ties the record for Most Points by an Olympian! Is there anything this man can't do! :-D

Círyatan. I know what you mean, England hasn't shown any of the games this tournament. If you want to watch the hockey. Check out: http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/olympics/

Go to "EBU Channels Live" down the left hand side and select one of the 6 that are live at the moment. There's no commentary, but it's a good site to know. Finland vs Belarus is currently live on channel 2. :-D

Lucky you, batdad. I just watched the CZE-SVK game on TV (it started at 6AM here) and I'm certainly satisfied with the final score.
But I was surprised that there were just a little real hits. I know, I know, you're gonna tell us that they're not canadiens and play like ladies. I expected them to play harder because they must be used to such style of play.
Another surprise was Gabby. He was injured during Rangers practise by Lundqvist (cut in arm) and he played really well, with no attention to the injury.
On the other side, Jagr played his standard. Registered 2 poinst (1+1) and 2 shots, not bad. I would swap Cervenka on his line with Michalek or someone from NHL.

What do you think about Jagr now?

Can't stand that Lydman played in 3rd defense-line and he played only 13 minutes :-o He is the best finnish stay-at-home defenseman. He should play in 2nd line with Pitkänen. Pitkänen isn't very good defensive. Then we have extremity line, with very good offensive d-man and very good defensive d-man. :-k

Good thing was that Pitkänen didn't make any hazards on offensive zone against Belarus.

JAgr was outstanding. Would still be an NHL star if he played the way he did in the first two periods. He was very quiet in P3. But again...I have never siad he was done. I said I needed to see what he could do. Last night he looked good for the first half, and then looked tired. Conditioning (by the looks of him) appeared to be a bit of an issue. But he still has the skill set. Defensively..horrid. But he always was.

Hits? not the style of those two teams. Only Chara, and he was not moving his feet last night...struggled alot actually. Looked like Sleepy Chara last night. B72 will know what I mean. Some days he is the best player ever, others not so much.

Gaborik looked good at times-his goal was a wicked release. But he was real lazy in his own zone, and almost cost his team.

same as always ... certain players (Elias, gabby, Jagr, Demitra even, Hossa) were brilliant offensively. Then (with Hossa exception and sometimes Elias) they disappear when they are not on an offensive thrust.

Halak-Made some brilliant saves right in front of me, then let in a softy at end of 2nd to Plekanec. Both D on that one were horrid.

ANyway, the first two periods was good fast paced offensive minded hockey. Then as I thought...Czech got up two goals and it became a snoozefest in P3. Cezchs dump it in, line 5 up in neutral zone. Slovaks cannot break through. Repeat process. Blech...horrid hockey.

sitting in the 2nd row behind the net...wow the speed was tremendous. I sometimes forget how fast it really is out there. Oh..and I saw Demitra backcheck ONCE and throw what I would think he thought was a hit. :-D
