I am SCREWED. Since SAm got hurt, and after the Olympics I have gone 2-7.
Goals for: 18
Goals against: 29
I have been shutout 3 times.
Now have dropped to 6th place and only 10 points out of 9th. I Want to beat all my guys to death.
Jacobson has not scored since game 57. 10 games only 2 points. SAm went down game 59. Think he had some chemistry?
Berthet is ranked as my #1 too. Attributes. Then Carrier, then Riekkiwhackadoo, then Severson. Severson is by far the best of the 4.
Severson 7.91
Carrier 7.53
Riekawhack 7.21
Chauvel 7.04
Berthet 6.93 plus 7
Rouleau 6.93 plus 24

Where is Gormley? Didn't you keep him? I found him to be reliable for what he was. He's not a superstar but he's solid.
EDIT:
Grrrrr! Right after I post this, I lose Gormley for 3 weeks. He pulled a hamstring in practice.

I'm keeping Berthet, his rating is low because of his size but his other numbers are good for me... +/-, blocked shots, interceptions. Also Carrier plays alot better with Berthet then he does with any other partner i tried. I don't use him on the PP right now, might try him there though, PP time might help his morale from going down. I also like Gormley, he's really solid.

I let Gormley go UFA. He was the weakest of the 8. 6.45 avg rating in year one, -20 on 2nd and 3rd pair. Ticked me off. Plus his name is stupid. he is in TB a team that is 2nd overall now, and is doing better there, but only playing 12 min per night. I could not stand him. Next up on hit list is Berthet. But Vandersteen may be the trade bait. Too small and inconsistent. Actually right now very consistent. Consistently naff.
I use Carrier-Berthet alot as well. It does not work so well for me. THey are both clowns

Wow, so different from me. Gormley was excellent for me in the first season and Vsteen got 87 pts for me and is my 1st line C.

Gormley had 36 points, a -6, and a 7.37 average rating for me in season 1. As far as +/- goes, that's one of the better ones for defensemen on my team last year.
Vandersteen plays RW for my team because I like Owens and Schenn as my top 2 centers. Vandersteen did fairly well for us in season 1. He had 72 points and was a +8. I think he trailed only Owens in points.

SChenn is my 3rd line guy some of the time. Now with Rhino out he is 2nd line. V-steen plays RW most of time for me too. But he has been horrible in year 2 since got hurt.
Here is his line:
44 games 13-15-28 -26 (yes -26 on a winning team) 6.68 avg rating, 15:21 avg ice time.

I've started to focus less on the rating aspect when judging my players because of the apparent size-bug. I look more at all the other stats when deciding if a player is good enough or not. Not sure if thats the right way to go though, time will tell i guess. Not sure what to do with Zakharov though, he had a great first half of the first season with alot of points and a rating arond 7.50, second half of the season he did less points and his rating dropped slightly over 7 and his +/- also dropped alot. Now that i have Skoda in the team i'm not sure what to do with Zakharov. Skoda basically does everything Zakharov does but hes not tiny and hes good defensively aswell.

Nope. ratings is be all and end all. If they cannot perform at 7 avg rating they are not good enough. Morale goes down, development goes down. etc.
So off they go from my roster as soon as I can get rid of them. 6.5 for young guys, and 4th liners is fine. That is often due to ice time. But if top 2 line or top 2 pair not at least a 7...I hate em. (and only like low 7 if they are scoring)

I know there is a limit to how bad the rating can be because of morale mostly, but i think some stare blindly on the rating of someone even though all the other stats are good.

If I understand rules right, I can't trade for trade rights or trade rights for player or pick? Also, rules doesn't offer me a chance to make 2 1 per 1 trades, I guess, only one per one, plus one per pick, or pick per one. Am I right?
I only played one season, hopefully I'll be in same season with you guys soon.

That's correct. Trading for player rights or trading away player rights is NOT allowed. You must have a player under contract for 12 months before you're allowed to trade him. You are allowed one player for player deal and one player for pick/pick for player deal.

Even drafted players need to be in team 12 months? Ok, after first season I don't need to think about it, heh. Thanks.
@ batdad - I guess you'll enjoy in PO, something like mine after first season, lol.

Yes. Need to have been signed to a deal for 12 months. Must be under contract for 12 months before moving them.
So Boston plays Tampa round 1. Thought I would get hammered. Played Reinhart on 3rd line and 2nd PP for first 4 games even though still only 90% after missing 2 months with broken ankle.
Game 1: went the way I thought. Boston 3 Tampa 4 (Reinhart 1-0)
Game 2: What the Dickens? Boston 10 Tampa 6 (Reinhart 1-2-3, Bennett and Aberg 2-2-4) Yanked Bernier after 2 when leading 8-4.

Game 3: Double huh. Boston 4 Tampa 1 (Haas was awesome in net) Reinhart 0-1-1
Game 4: Triple What the? Boston 6 Tampa 4. Yanked Haas after 12 minutes down 3-0. (Reinhart 0-1-1) BEnnett 3-0-3
Game 5: I dont believe it. Boston 5 Tampa 3. Bernier in net. (Reinhart 0-2-2, Bennett 1-1-2)
And .... I may not get the amazing Leafs. They are down 3-2 to the 8th seeded Pens somehow. GO PENS GO
Scoring in playoffs so far.
5 games played
Bennett 7-4-11
Owens 3-7-10
Jacobson 5-3-8
Reinhart 2-6-8
Aberg 5-2-7
Schenn 1-5-6
Ridiculous. Reinhart makes such a difference to this team. From bottom feeder to top level.
I went 34.6% on the PP in the round.

Stanley Cup Winner in my game is New York Rangers. They won 4-2 against Colorado. Price > Varlamov.
Finally sign Škoda... let's see which Škoda is he, Superb or Fabia.
Draft 2025, Bruins pick 17th:
17th Albin Nordstrom LD/RD 6' 189 lbs
47th Bobby Robidoux LD 6'3 171 lbs
77th Stephane Gill RW 5'9 154 lbs
107th Emeric Courtney C/LW 6'2 171 lbs
134th Michael Heming C/LW 5'10 169 lbs
137th John Paul Kessel LD 6'4 189 lbs
167th Michal Simek LW/RW 5'11 176 lbs
197th Vadim Bykov LD 5'11 187 lbs
I'm pretty satisfied, because draft wasn't really good, but I think we pick solid amount of defenders and maybe some of them will play for Bruins in future.
Resign both Brouwer and Eriksson, we'll see their role later. Now need to sign my UFA Left Winger.

For the second consecutive season the NHL will have an all Canadian Stanley Cup final. The Leafs defeated the Islanders 4 games to 1. Calgary and Vancouver are facing off in the other semi.
2024 Toronto defeat Winnipeg
previous to that the last all Canadian final was Calgary-Montreal in 1989

In my game, 2024 - Jets win against Rangers, 2025 - Rangers win against Avalanche.
Contract expire: Richards, Chauvel, Stoughton, Reijasalo, Tsvetkov, Tichy, Serebryakov, Paltamaa, Karkins, Pettersson.
Looks like my Bruins are nice destination for players. I offer a contract to Virtanen, Karlsson and Bennett, all of them accept my offer and I pick Karlsson.
Now I offer Voučko head coach contract... greedy fool, he want 10 times more wage. At least he understand Croatian jokes. Waugh kicked, assign Shane Briggs and Gennady Ilminsky.
Straight to training camp.
EDIT: batdad, you'll like this. Virtanen sign with Leafs.
Bennett sign with Kings.

I have a question about founding players for trade. How you do that? I alway go to player search and with mark on "ask assistant to filter unrealistic targets" and then go on list and try to find players to trade. Something better maybe?

Not doing the challenge but over the years I have a system that usually works for me. If I'm looking to trade a player I shop the player and see who offers what. From that I can usually see who's making the best offer so I'll take the best 5 or 10 and go through each teams rosters looking for what I need. Then I'll start making offers to those teams and see where it goes. On rare occasions I get a message that so and so is either being put on the trading block or that team X made an offer for a certain player that I thought wasn't available and that I'd really like. Then I'll jump in on the situation and try to outbid the team thats made an offer and sometimes it works. I mostly try to build through the draft but sometimes either through injuries, unforseen retirement or some other such event a trade is necessary so thats what usually works for me.

Ok, thanks, I did it right then, also follow other offers and try to negotiate from "offer to all". Works pretty solid, but still thought there's some kind of magic button.
