I have administrator rights and the program is free to do whatever it wants - e.g. in my antivirus software and firewall it is set as safe program.

Also tried rebooting, with no luck.

I enjoy having this tool, but I just don't understand how to make the attribute adjustments stay on the player. I have a player that I changed to 200 CA and 200 PA and then I changed all of his attributes to 20 except for injury, which I left at 1. I cannot get those attributes to stay. At random points during the simulation the player's attributes will all change down to a 16 or 17. Is there something I can do to make the attributes not change? The players CA and PA both will continue to read 200/200 so that doesn't change..

I suspect you're running into the new Player Role system...the new Player Role system is intended to better represent individual hockey playing styles realistically (such as defensive D or pointman, or grinder or playmaker or sniper), not represent a sandlot/fantasy style "superplayer"

As for how to best keep as many Attributes as you can as the highest possible ratings, I suspect "trial & error" is your only option
(keep in mind Player Role is likely affecting the Attributes as well, and maybe age too, and there may be other influencers).....I don't think EHM is intended to have the "all 20s for Attributes, 200 CA/PA" player

Also, perhaps the EHM:EA Assistant isn't showing something correctly? Maybe something like CA is being adjusted but not shown by the Assistant?
With some recent testing I did with players age 13-26 at start-up, I found the EHM:EA Assistant was not showing any height/weight growth but when I checked in-game growth was happening (and it seemed like maybe the Assistant was showing the future/eventual size and not current...as I recall the really young players weighed less than the Assistant said at start-up, but weighed what the assistant said after a few years; I didn't spend long looking into it); I decided not to stress about it or try to figure it out and just carried on with other tasks

EHM is now similar to Football Manager in that regard. CA and attributes now go hand-in-hand, whilst in EHM 2007 one could set the CA to something like 50 and still have all attributes in 20. The only thing you can do is to give the emphasis on the attributes you value most in the player, and then edit and test how high you can set the others.

Ok, I'm using a Windows 7 home. Don't know if it matters but it was bought from the states three years ago.

I'll send the log to you later tonight, if I can get it out in csv or html. The export didn't seem to work somehow or I've turned into a complete fumble with computers over the last week.

Have you tried disabling your antivirus software? I know you can make a program a whitelisted/safe program for firewalls, but I wasn't aware this was possible for antivirus software (as it defeats the purpose).

No that won't make a difference.

No, haven't done that. Yes, you can set "safe programs" for the antivirus. It won't check it when you run it, but it will stop it/ask what's is going on , if anything out of the ordinary happens. So far it hasn't done anything.

Disabling the antivirus didn't change anything.

Hi there!

First of all thanks for the amazing work and content available on this site. Had I known this site at the time, and I probably would have played EHM2007 for more than a couple of years!

Now, I have two questions and I'm not exactly sure where to ask them so I'll give it a try here.

I bought the game recently and have been busy on the improving the extras of my game (DL facepacks, real name rosters, etc). Now that I'm going to start the actual play time, I'm wondering what is the best to edit saved games (like stats, maybe remove injuries and improve the CA/PA values), is it this one or the updater? Do they perform similar actions or do they have completely different uses?

Another question, not exactly related to the EHM Assistant, is regarding the pre-game editor. I used to use the EHM 2007 pre-game editor. As the updated rosters seem to be a 2007 DB that the game will convert into an EHM:EA DB, should I use that same pre-game editor before converting the DB? If I want to create a new player from scratch, is that old editor fine (as I understand there are new variables for players like game style orientation, not exactly sure if that's how it is called)? Or is there a better tool for the job?

Thank you very much in advance and keep up the amazing work guys :)

Currently the Assistant is the only saved game editor for EHM:EA. The Updater only edits EHM 2007 saved games (and even then the editing capabilities are limited).

Garfild, any chance you had an opportunity to look into the structure of of an EHM:EA shortlist file so we could hopefully create shortlists with your program to import into EHM:EA?

If you read the thread at all you'll notice he makes a new version of the scout when a new version of EHM:EA comes out. Be patient. It may take a day or two.

I suspect I'm being rather stupid but I am struggling with the new shortlist option. Have imported a shortlist into the assistant (and it has said 'Importing x/xx') but once its finished it just tells me that the list is empty?

Before save you need add players to shortlist. Find players then mouse right click and add to shortlis. To see added players to shortlist press view buton.

Did you have question - Shortlist (shortlist.pls) ID (x) do not match current shortlist game ID (y)

So it saves in a .pls file, can EHM:EA read this? When I go to import my shortlist into the game, it can't find it.
