Okay, so the 2010 playoffs ended, with me winning another cup. Shocking.
Anyway, will be some changes in Chi town as Horcoff and Gleason will be leaving as UFA's.
My Stanley Cup final roster vs Philly is a preview of things to come in some ways.
Heatley-Richards-Hossa
Toews-Horcoff- Marcel Hossa
Arkhipov-Bolland-Dustin Brown
Boogieman-empty slot-Blunden
Barker-Seabrook
Gleason-Jason Smith
Beauchemin-Ryan Wilson
Jeff Schultz
Budaj
Price
Budaj was a god in the playoffs. An absolute god. As you can see
Here
THis should put to rest all this garbage about not winning the cup without an elite goalie. Of course, now Budaj and Emery are included among the list of elite goalies, with Lalime. All of whom have one at least one Stanley Cup for me in this challenge.
A 1.39 GAA with .944 save percentage? Brutal I tells ya. 5 Shutouts in the playoffs..christ he only had 3 all season! Wow! Talk about stepping up.
Anyway, big changes a coming...my roster will look something like this next season
Heatley-Richards-Marian Hossa
????---Toews-----Dustin Brown
McArdle-Bolland-Blunden
Boogie-Gaustad (trade from Buffalo for his rights some time ago, Buffalo let him go to Europe, I have him dirt cheap)???
Barker-Seabrook
Beauchemin-R Wilson
Schultz--Jason Smith
???
Budaj
???
Hmm...I guess not that many changes. I thought it was going to be bigger than that. McArdle has inside track on Homegrown, but it could also be Skille, or Istomin, or someone else who goes nutso at camp.
I can now deal Carey Price, since Budaj is a dirt cheap god. With $8 mill off the books to Horcoff and Gleason, I should be able to have some fun. Although Seabrook is going to cost me $3 mill now.
It likely won't be UFA's filling those slots at all. I am looking at dealing some of my older prospects to make room for guys like Tavares, and a few other draft picks I have to sign.
Norfolk had a brilliant reg season, but died in the 1st round of the playoffs. I am not impressed with that. So changes down there are a coming.
