Nah, they are too good. We'll settle for Aaron Ward, Doug Weight and Wade Dubielewicz

Foster, Ortmeyer and Theodore nominated for the Masterton trophy...

Theodore deserves to win hands down. What that man has been through, he deserves more than a trophy!

Can someone tell me what Ortmeyer did to be there? He didn't get injured and make a good comback.

Edit.....Oh sorry, just read something interesting about him on NHL.

With the news from Brian Murray that he won't be able to sign Anton, I wonder how much should he be making. His salary is currently 3.2M, do you believe he deserves more?

I've heard something about the same as Komisarek, 4.5 or 5 millions per year.

Maybe a bit of a raise. Not much. Not like I don't appreciate player types like Volchenkov, Foote or Stuart but their contribution to anything else but defence is minimal. A defenceman's job is to take care of his own zone first and foremost, but if you wanna something around 5m you better add more than 8 goals and 50 points over 4 years on top of that.
With that being said, I can very well imagine some assclown GM giving him 4.5m+. This has Burke written all over it :D, I'd love it if they got rid of Kaberle and added Volchenkov to their impressive collection of stone hands at the back end. They'd never get out of their zone :D

As much as I love a over 1000 shot blockersince it became a stat, but if I were a GM I would not pay him a cent over 4M. But your right danny some other GM will probably sign him for about 5M.

Trozt, Sacco and Tippet for the Jack Adams. 3 good choices but I would prefer Sacco or Tippet as the winner.

Adams is a tough one to call. Tippet will probably get the nod for the Phoenix turnaround, but it's too bad that a lack of any playoff success keeps Trotz from claiming his rightful prize. He's already been recognized by his peers as coach of the year before, and deserves full accolades for what he continues to do with the Predators year in and year out.

Trotz is a good coach yes. The Preds are always good with an average team, he's making a great job behind the bench.

Nice detail about Blackhawks season: first time in their history they won over 50 games in regular season =D> . At 70-71 and 90-91 they won 49 games.

Sacco-1st season in NHL
Tippett-1st season with team
Trotz-Consistently makes his team outperform anyone's expectations. Does more with less than anyone. Guess who I would vote for?

Crosby, Ovenchicken, Sedin for Hart Trophy

Guess who my vote goes to there? Definitely Ovenchicken for the regular season, the only season he can win awards in. He should go play with Thornton.

I'm guessing you would vote for Trotz but I'd be seriously tempted to give my vote to Sacco. Nobody expected that team to do anything!

Sacco could still be one of those one year wonders. Guys come in with a fresh voice and things happen. I won't be sure about him for another season or two. Trotz...wow. He just makes things happen. OVer and over. Deserves to be rewarded for that.

For the voting of the Norris trophy. Is it based off the regular season and playoffs or just the regualr saeason. If it is based on the regualr season then Mike Green hands down should win it. If it is a combination of the two then I dont think he will win.

Mike Green should not win that award. No way! The reward is given to the defensman who demonstrates the best all-around ability at his position. Mike Green knows little about defending. Sure, he scores points like a monster. He isn't the best defensively in my opinion. (Although it is a playoff game) Last night's game proved it. He was baddddd...

Just regular season. So playoff horribleness does not count. But even if it did, award should not go to him. It should go to Duncan Keith.

He doesn't play any different in the regular season, but they usually manage to outscore the opponent anyway so you won't notice unless you pay attention to it. It just gets exposed when teams play with more intensity defensively and they can't just run wild for a few mins and score a couple of goals just like that. Coincidence that Chara's, Pronger's or Lidstrom's teams are in the next round being the lower seeds ? I think not. Green doesn't have that extra gear to dominate games from the back end...yet.

Jagr not returning to NHL.
He extended for 1 year with Omsk. Personally, I hoped he could go to NHL or Czech league
