New York Islanders[sup]TM[/sup] team colour should use NHL Blue 1 instead of NHL blue 2.

Just letting u guys know u guys forgot a defenseman on the Houston Aeros team by the name of Jon Awe... He is on contract with Houston Aeros

Jon Awe was not on Houston until November of 2007. The database is set for the start of the 2007 season over a month before that. So yes, Awe is not on Houston. And he will not be .... until next season...if he is still there.

There's no Jon Awe in the database, and as stated, we will not be creating any players.
Batdad, I'm actually updating the AHL to their current rosters, not of the deadline, because it's very hard to find a list of AHL teams at that particular time.
But, nonetheless, he's not in the game, problem solved.

Just wanted to let you know that in the new database. When you offer someone over $10 million for one year, their contract jumps down to $50,000 for the years that you have them signed.
Then on top of that, the other players that were added back into the game. Such as Brett Hull in your database is sort of weird to me, but whatever. He has a contract of around $50,000 for the first 4 years.
It just takes away the realism of the game now, because you can offer anybody and everybody $10 million dollar contracts and get them without a doubt.
Didn't know if this was just a big problem with the current database you guys created or not.
I know it isn't my patch update, because if I don't use your database and go to any NHL player in that default database and offer them contracts that are up to $10 million for a year, then you are paying them $10 million a year.

To my knowledge this is a somewhat rare bug in the game, nothing to do with any particular database.
As far as I'm aware.
Edit: I'm assuming this was related to our latest update, not the TBL: DB, so posts moved to correct thread.

Tis because you cannot offer 10 million. You are only allowed a top salary of a percentage of the cap. I think it is 15%. SO unless you have offered $10 mill in an edited cap situation, where the cap is at least 67 million, you have an illegal contract the game will not allow.
For example I beleive the top deal for one player allowed right now is $8 mill on the 50.3 cap.
Who put Brett Hull in the TBL DB? I did not think he was there.
Not sure if this 10 mill thing is to do with TBL or overall, since well...I have not played with TBL DB with 2007-08 rosters

If I remember right.. Hull is retiret player and he is set to non-player in TBL update and he also has all player attributes.
So in TBL:DB he is player who has contract in Dallas Stars to non-player.

Hello
Could someone send me these rosters to EHM07:
La-Z 2007-08 Roster update v1.3 and TBL Rosters 2007-08 v1.4 (NHL, Sweden, Russia, Czech Rep, Canada & UK)?
It doesn't work to download it from the ehmtheblueline-site so I would be very happy if someone could send me these rosters
Send the rosters to my e-mail:

The problem doesn't occur when I am not using the database from the game by default. I recently got the version that you guys just released awhile back. The cap is changed in that one due to the cap changing in the NHL, where it is no longer $44 million or whatever it was after the lockout.
Aside from that, I assume the reason you can offer them $10 million dollar contracts is because of the fact that you have changed the cap to be higher.
As for the whole Brett Hull thing, as of right now, when you start the game with the database downloaded from here and you either do a draft or do the game with direct rosters.
Hull is on the Stars team or he is there for you to pick in the draft. So from what I can tell or see, you can use him as a player or a player/coach and so forth.
If you need pictures for proof, I have no problem showing.

Nope..the cap is 50.3...so it should not allow $10 mill anyway. Just $8 mill approx. 15% of the total cap is max for one player.
No sweat on Hull..just did not know he was listed in any way as a player. He was retired, but since he has a job with the Stars I guess someone brought him back in that role...but since still has player attributes is an issue.
I am wondering what happened to cut off of September 29th on this...since Hull was not hired by the Stars until Oct/Nov..he should have remained retired?
Tasku..I am gonna get you!!!!

Well it is allowing me to do the $10 million dollar contract offer. I'll take a picture of this tonight and show you to let you know about it.
But then again, what if you are way below the cap?
Will that allow you to give higher contracts? The reason I say this or ask is because I am sometimes $20 to $25 million under the cap.

No...it should not make a difference where you are in the cap. Should be a max set at what I believe in real life is 15%...so if the cap is high enough than a $10 mill would be allowable...but if not it should not be. I dunno.

The max should be 20% IRL, if my memory is still working. With the 50 Mil cap, it makes the max salary for a player to be around 10 Mil. This is how Ovechkin gets his 9.5 / year.

Brett Hull is still retired Non-Player / Scout of Dallas Stars in the database. Wether or not he can be brought back as a player, I don't think that is for us database editors to decide - what ever happens after you pick your team and start playing is between you and the game, we've put him where he belongs, me thinks. If he still has player attributes, then he's just being Brett Hull in the world of Eastside Hockey Manager. Give him a player contract if you want.
Anyways, I'm not very good with cap issues, so when you guys are done discussing it, let me know what needs to be done to the database, if anything.
Edit: After re-read, I understand what you meant about the deadline. Some players were moved after / despite the deadline for reasons unknown. Wether or not this is a big deal is a matter of opinion. I don't think it is.

I really was not that concerned about Brett. I was just funning with you. But yeah, he would still be in the dbase if he was not hired to Dallas I guess as an UFA.

I wasn't really directing my comment to you either, just quoted you cause you said my name, that's all. My comment about Mr. Hull was directed at JPool.
Not that it really matters anyway...

After having the file for good five weeks now, I've so far managed to update only SM-liiga and Mestis, and I am now half way thru the AHL. I've decided to drop the ECHL out of my list, because to go thru another 30-ish teams is just not possible right now, as some personal issues are slowing my progress too much.
In short:
TBL Update version 1.5 will be available in about a week, with Finnish SM-liiga and Mestis, plus the AHL, all updated to their current rosters. Also some 450 missing DOB will be corrected to the database, to the addition of the earlier fix, as provided by Jackknife77.
End of transmission.
