By accident, while working on this, I noticed that for some reason Maxim Kondratiev's transfer to Anaheim had completely gone under our radar, so he'll be with the Ducks in the upcoming update.

I'm now all done with released player rights. Only one little thing to do, and then this file will be ready for release.

If you have noticed anything that needs to be fixed on the NHL aspects of this database, say it now, so we can make corrections before, not after the release.

Next week Lidas will start working on the Swedish update, and during this time he will also take the responsibilty of watching this thread for any mistakes our users may spot and report.

Changelist from version 1.0 to 1.1 up to this point:

• Removed rights on players that had been dropped by their team
• Assigned players to their farm teams according to the situation on 29th September 2007
• Fixed AHL teams affiliations with ECHL teams
• Teams that had affiliation changes had their players left in their former affiliation teams as loan, fixed
• Fixed Tampa Bay’s affiliation with Mississippi Sea Wolves - Sea Wolves exist in the game, but were not playing in any league
• Updated Mississippi Sea Wolves roster to give team some players, because roster was empty
• Moved ECHL teams to their correct season 2007-08 divisions
• Added a number of missing DoB's to database - info provided by Jackknife77
• Fixed Sidney Crosby's contract value
• Fixed Lyle Odelein’s retirement - error in Config File
• Removed Chris Chelios' retirement
• Signed Igor Grigorenko from Lada Togliatti to Detroit Red Wings
• Signed Maxim Kondratiev from Lada Togliatti to Anaheim Ducks
• Signed Josef Boumedienne to Washington Capitals
• Signed Janne Niskala from Färjestad to Nashville Predators
• Other minor adjustments

I've founded little little bugs on TBLDB1.1 when i was checking it out for my Czech Pics:

2 Hansen, Mads - one correct and one from 1/2/1900
2 Laumann-Ylvén, Martin ; the other one is Laumann Ylvén, Martin
Lorentzen, Peter - I believe that his name is Lorentsen (from Elite Site) probably a old error.
Bellemare, Pierre-Edouard. I'm not sure if his name is Bellamare or Bellemare.

Thanks for coming up with tips to improve the DB.

As for Hansen and Laumann Ylven, the clones are set as retired and invalid, so they won't interfere with the game. For some reason, the creator of the editor didnt implement the delete function, so they just have to stay.

Peter Lorentzen is spelled with "Z" on Rogle BK's HOMEPAGE.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare is spelled with "E" on Leksands IF's HOMEPAGE.

Thanks! Lidas

So, there´s no point hunting 1900 guys down (founded 2 more).

I've founded some error on Czech pics:

Marek Cernasek (22_7_1976) on ehm is (21_7_1976)
M. Altrichter (16_11_1972) on ehm (16_1_1972)
Milan Kraft (20_10_1980) on ehm (7_1_1980)
Milan Prochazka (17_4_1977) ehm (16_4_1977)

I'll rename these files since i couldn't check this out from a reliable source.

I was unable to find anything on the top two players on your list, but on Milan Kraft's case the error seems to be not in EHM database, but on the picture file (according to Wikipedia), where as in the case of Milan Pro... umm... P... Proczhazhzahka (or something like that :-D ) the error is infact in EHM database: correct date of birth is 17.4.1977 according to these two sources:

http://www.hokejkv.cz/hrac.asp?id=557
and
http://www.hcorli.cz/hrac.asp?ID=21

Thanks Tasku! but i'm still wondering about...
...a little mistery: What´s the real birth date of Milan Kraft? ':dunno:'

Legends of hockey says it's October 20 ?!
Wikipedia says it's January 7 ?!

Legends of Hockey Milan Kraft

And according to ESPN and TSN he's born January 17th :dunno:

Robert Reichel (24-6-1971 on ehm) correct is 25-6-1971
Pavel Patera (5-9-1971) correct is 6-9-1971

Milan Kraft ':-?' who know... (only his mom, maybe)':-D'

montreal canadiens still have the rights on Aleksei Emelin. He has been removed from the prospect list in the last update.

Not according to Montreal's Prospects list they don't :dunno:

If you can point us to a source that would show us otherwise, then we can return Montreal's rights to Emelin.

Edit: Whoops... he is "Yemelin" in the list, not "Emelin"...

This is what happens when you have to go thru a list of hundreds of players as fast as possible...

Lidas, fix this for the next database will you? :-)

Thanks for the roster but the one thing I'm noticing is that all the teams are grossly over the cap and dumping star players at the beginning of the season and some of the names are unrealistic.

Hmm? I wonder what roster are you using? :-?

In TBL's Roster Update version 1.1 all teams are within the cap, as far as I'm aware, and all names are "unfaked" because it is based on the TBL Database.

Edit: correction - some teams are over the cap, but if this is the case, they are were most likely over the cap before the league start in real life as well, because all contracts are updated according to real situation on 29th September.

The biggest cap issue is with the Ducks I believe because of Niedermeyer contract. Also not sure about Rangers...

Not sure what we ended up doing with Niedermeyer contract now, and too lazy to look. I think we left him which yes...gives the Ducks an issue.

I've simulated the start of the season to get an idea of how / or if this is a serious problem, (although, I didn't see this in my own game with the same database), and I only saw two teams waiving their key / core players: Marek Malik from the Rangers, and Denis Gauthier from Flyers.

This is not very serious, but just to give the AI some help on maintaining their roster, we could do something, that was already pointed out by Batdad earlier, but forgotten in the midst of everything else: we could edit such contracts, where the players first year has a smaller prize tag than the next year, so that the player will only have one year contract with the first year value, this way not affecting the salary cap as much on the first season. Good example on this is Sidney Crosby's contract.

Not sure how much this will help, and how many teams, but it's worth a try.

Lidas? :-D

I know I had 4 teams putting a star player on the block as it came up on my news. Schneider was on the block in Anaheim, Jason Smith in Philly, Brendan Shanahan for the Rangers. I can't recall who the other team was. But anyway they were showing salary totals at 54+ so it's fairly significant, I wouldn't want to be in that position anyway.

On a sidenote I thought Anaheim had enough cap space for Niedermayer to come back so wouldn't this reflect in EHM? I only say that because I remember talks about how Nieds could come back but if Selanne wanted to the contract would have to be for maybe $1 mill (dirt cheap).

Nevertheless thanks again for your hard work on this.

I only mentioned players that actually changed team, not the ones who were put on block / waivers, but never went to another team.

All other salaries should be the same way as they are in real life, except for those players, who were given an extension for later years, that was significantly higher payed than this year, as I already mentioned. So once this has been changed, this should no longer be an issue on any team, or if it is, then that issue was with the real NHL team aswell.

Anaheim was either right at the cap or over with Nieds in real life if he came back once they signed Schneider and Bert. Cannot recall exactly where, but dang close.

And Philly is near the cap in real life too. Not over, but real close which in this game, with the budget settings maybe the cause of the waivers/trade block. Is an issue for them in real life even more so, thanks to Nolan Bombgartner and someone else they are paying 1/2 a contract for in real life I believe.

Rangers bringing in Drury/Gomez...may be close to cap as well. Game may be reacting this way re budget reasons. The jettison to the farm of Darius Kasparitis in real life solved their issue. In EHM they may not be doing this...but trying other things first.

Tasku--Check the budgets on Phi. NYR and Ana...are they lower than the cap? Would be odd if they were, since those teams are all pretty high revenue.

Anaheim is at 48 mil, Philadelphia 49 mil and Rangers 51 mil. Team budgets were set at a little higher than what the teams' total player salaries were at the time when version 1.0 came out, based on numbers from NHLSCap. I decided to do this, because I couldn't find any info on their real budgets, and I didn't want to leave them unchanged from the original database, because that might've made some AI teams drop players, if they were over budget.

What do you think, should we remove the extencions on contracts like Crosby, where the average affects cap on first year?

Posted: Mon Nov 12, 2007 5:05 am
by batdad
Nope. The reason this is happening in the game is the same reason the teams do stuff in real life..too close to the cap to survive for injuries, or in the Rags case...OVER IT with Kaparitis. To solve their problem you could send Darius down to the farm.

The only way to solve the Ducks problem is to suspend Nieds. I think we wait until we know what is happening with him IRL before we do anything ,because no matter what we do it will cause issues for people. Suspend him..he comes back. Where is Nieds? He retires...Why is Nieds on the roster? Tis no win unless we guess right. If I guess, he is coming back Jan 15th or so..so could suspend him til then. But what if it is Jan 1? Are people gonna be widdled? Will the cap be affected if we suspend him in game? Do we have to give him half the salary for this season to make it right? I dunno, who does know? So just leave it.

The only way to solve the Flyer problem is to do something they did not do? Not sure but maybe there is someone they sent down before the season that hurt the cap issue. Maybe Stinson knows?

Since the Rags are the only team over the cap in the game at the start...send Kasparitis down, or to Russia on loan where he is now. Leave the others alone, unless we know for sure what to do..which right now we do not.

Okay then... not sure if Kaspy to farm would make any difference though, he has more than 3 mil contract, so they'll have to pay it full anyways... :-k

Edit: And besides, he is in farm already - since v1.1 :-D

Yep, but on the farm team does not count against cap. And rubbish if in the farm already. Bummer. Hmmm... anyone get an extension with them that is in the game?

Ah yes, the cap, silly me...

Nope, not anyone from the Rangers :dunno:
