Same here.
Any idea of what could cause this ?

Sounds like too many teams in the KHL. We'll need to check which team we changed and how to fix it. It should be an easy fix.

When will the "Too many teams in the KHL," error be fixed. You mentioned above that it was a simple fix to remove the additional KHL team, but that was roughly 1 month ago?

When we next release a roster update.

I know this is a question that is generally frowned upon but, do you have any idea when that might be? Because at the moment we are still having to run on last year's rosters.

1) Press Home.
2) Read the red text.

I appreciate your interest in my question, however being a <SNIP> doesn't help anyone.
I was very polite in my question because I empathise 100% with how many times the random question of "when are we getting an update" is asked.
That being said I believe this current situation is fairly unique in that "archibalduk's" original comment of "should be an easy fix" intimate's that it will be addressed immediately to fix the issue and fact that the latest v8.0 update does not work at all. This is a troubleshooting issue, not an update issue. That is very different from a regular update with updated player information, and creates the issue that if another roster update isn't due until the trade deadline or when the playoffs start then the game is unplayable for this community for 3-6 months or must be played with season old data.

Please don't swear at other users on the forums. We don't tolerate that kind of behaviour here.
I didn't mean to suggest that the issue would be addressed immediately. All I said was that it was likely to be a league size issue and it should be an easy fix. As with all issues, we fix them when the next version of the rosters are released. We do all of this work in our spare time in between the day job and so we cannot give ETAs for roster releases - hence the large pink box at the top of the forum explaining that. We do the best we can with the limited time we have. I appreciate it is inconvenient for you and obviously we don't like having issues like this in the DB, but I can't say I agree that the game is unplayable for the community and I haven't seen anybody else say that they have been "forced" to use last season's rosters as a result (but you mention that "we" are still having to run on last year's rosters - who are "we"?).

Archibalduk - Thank you for your response, I apologise for my language but I felt it appropriate and apt for that potential user who felt the need to be rude and condescending without reason.
Judging by your response i fear I may have made a couple of assumptions upon posting. I did not know that there is a history of making all fixes with each consequential roster release, I apologise. I think there may also be a related fact that I assumed you knew as I was not the first person to bring up this issue. The error occurs at the "import database" stage, says there are 11 KHL teams and the league will only allow for 10, declares the database corrupt and crashes the game. It does not allow you to import update 8.0a at all, meaning that the latest roster update that can be run is 7.4 which I believe is the information from last Spring. Hopefully that explains some of my comments further and the "we" refers to the group who get roster updates from this site as I noticed 2-3 other users voice the same problem above and I assume that this error in the database would effect everyone at the same time.
I do appreciate all the hard work that must go into compiling all the information and updating it, even more so for the fact that it is done voluntarily in people's spare time.

The claim that the 8.0a rosters wouldn't import hasn't made sense to me as since its release I've read the writings of dozens of users posting about their games using 8.0a (including the current TBL Challenge)
With all the editing I've been doing I haven't actually played EHM since before the "full release"
Just now I logged into Steam, selected EHM and saw (for the first time) the Steam Workshop, with the 8.0a rosters prominently displayed...I clicked Subscribe, then opened EHM and started a new game using the 8.0a rosters - everything worked as expected, no issues at all (even easier now as with Steam Workshop I didn't even need to import the roster...just clicked the Subscribe button and that was it! when I started a new game 8.0a was available to select)

I'm not sure what is going on then, I get the exact error as quoted at the top of this page (10) and reading the few replies, looks like I am the 4th commenter to experience this issue. I follow the readme guide when importing and I had no trouble with 7.4c.

Have you tried just clicking Subscribe on the 8.0a Rosters in the Steam Workshop? (all I did was open Steam, clicked on EHM in my Library and I could see the Steam Workshop/8.0a Rosters on the screen)

When I try to import the database '8.0a TBL Roster' it says that it is unable to open file 'database.db' in destination folder for export, I have followed the instructions and have no idea what seems to be the problem, any suggestions? Thanks.

Subscribe to the TBL rosters in the Workshop, then you don't need to import. It should automatically be available once you start a new game.

That's very strange. I had assumed the error you mentioned popped-up when starting a new game rather than importing the rosters. I wonder how the import can cause issues with a small number of installations given we all have the same game.

But at least you can download the already converted rosters via Steam Workshop.

Automatically available where? I am subscribed in the steam workshop and when I open up the game I don't get the new rosters in either the new game option or the import database option....
Is there a way I can use steam to download the rosters and then manually import myself?

Subscribe to the actual TBL roster update. Then it should auto-download all new versions. Might have to wait a while after you click Subscribe -- give it some time go download. Then go start a new game and the latest rosters should be there to pick from.

Sorry that's what I meant is that I found the TBL Roster update in the steam workshop, clicked subscribe but still nothing happens in EHM to give me any option to select the 8.0a roster. Is there not a way I can download through steam and manually import? Or could someone send me the steam downloaded version as a zip file and then I can manually import that?

Hm, strange. I just clicked "subscribe", and found the 8.0a in the list that opens as you start a new game. I'm just guessing here, but are you maybe on a slow connection? Maybe it takes a while to download? I saw no indication of it being downloaded, it just appeared on the menu moment later

It's not the fastest internet in the world but it Comcast XFinity which is a fibre optic connection. It's fast enough for me to watch GameCenter Live on my laptop.
Is there a way I can take the download from the link on this website and delete the one Russian team myself?

Kay, not the connection then. Someone else will have to answer your question though. I haven't done any editing since 1962.
