It was hilarious in today's game vs Winterpeg. he got a loud ovation when he hit the ice from Montreal fans. Then Pacioretty took a shot, and it appeared Gomez may have tapped it in. He did not. It took for ever for the PA Announcer to announce the goal was Pacioretty's. When he did....the crowd Boo'ed. Loudly. It was awesome.

Owen Nolan announced officially is retirement. He was really emotional.

He retire himself as a Sharks member, so maybe he signed something that make him a Sharks player just for that.

Wow. Owen Nolan announced his retirement? Did anyone notice? Wonder who the next career 2nd and 3rd liner who has not played in the NHL for years will be to retire. OH wait....Ray Ferraro?

I know philou. Not mad at you or mocking you. Mocking the NHL and San Jose. The league and teams are making such a big deal out of bit parts. Meanwhile, the best player (in many eyes) who ever played the game, is not involved in any way. And no NHL people speak about him at all. Stupid. All because of a few bucks (and make no mistake, the money #99 is owed is small peanuts to both him and the leaague)
Then they have a retirement press conference for Owen Nolan. Probably lauding him as the greatest and bestest thing to hockey in San Jose. Um ... no. That would be #99 even though he never played there.

Maybe you're right. I know Nolan wasn't a big impact player but he was still the "face" of the Sharks in the late 90's. He did a good job in the NHL and I liked him.....and the last Nordiques player to have played in the NHL.

There are two former Nordiques playing in Europe; Chris Simon and Martin Rucinsky

Yes I knew those two were still playing in Europe. I remember a couple of months ago we talked about them. Unless one of those two comes back in the NHLm which will probably never happen, Nolan was the last.

Washington Capitals' prospect Evgeny Kuznetsov is one funny guy!
When asked about his plans for next season he said that he's considering playing in the Turkish League.
'They will pay you $200 in salary and you get to live in an all-inclusive hotel. I like that. You can always make money as an entertainer'

Just had to say, I've noticed lately that Flyer goalie Sergei Bobrovsky uses the "plain" brown leather "old school" gloves and pads.....I LOVE the look!

So you can expect all sorts of crazy rumors to come out now, and the trade deadline just got a whole lot more interesting. Apperently Rick Nash is 'available'...as is the whole team. Bob McKenzie has pretty much confirmed reports from RDS and teh Columbus Dispatch writer as well. Cue Nash to Leafs rumors!

Bobby Mac said more than that Nash was available. On Vancouver radio today he said that Rick Nash has said he wanted to be moved. Hmmm.....probably more like I will move if you move me.

That's my understanding, Bob McKenzie is making a bit of a jump I think, Nash has probably said that 'if you havea good deal go ahead', to which McKenzie is saying 'If Nash is available, it's because Nash said he wants to move' all becuase of his NMC. I'm sure Nash has a list of teams he wants to go to if he does get dealt, mind you anything from Columbus is an improvmenet, (but would you really want to go to Phoenix after playing in Columbus?) but with Nash being GTA-born and Toronto media being Toronto media...well you get the picture.

It's been a couple of days that rumors of Nash could be traded appeared. I was surprise to see that but at the same time poor Nash.....always been in a sucky team, good player can score goals but as never got a good center to help him score even more. That sucks.

It is not going to be Toronto Nash goes to.
Here are the teams he will get to if he goes:
1. New York Rangers
2. Detroit Red Wings
3. Philadelphia Flyers
...
And the two big big longshots:
Chicago Blackhawks
Vancouver Canucks
Those two only get involved in this manner:
Chicago realizes he is going to Detroit.(franzen or Filpulla plus Abdelkader, Helm plus picks). The Hawks have good cap space for the moment,..and hate that thought...so go after him (Kane,or Sharp plus) Vancouver then says...no way Chicago...no way no how...and they put up Raymond, ballard, Hodgson, malhotra, Schneider, Hansen, 3 1st round picks and a bucket of fish.
TOronto: So tired of them getting play in every freaking trade rumor of a star player. They are not....they don't want Rick Nash..they want a Centre. Seriously...the Leafs are a good centre away from being a contender. More likely they have interest in Jeff Carter than Rick Nash. Kick tires sure...but 2 1sts and Phil Kessel is what the cost will be...
Toronto ALWAYS gets mentioned because the media there listens to the freaking fans and don't want to upset them...so they always say Toronto.
The other longshot...Los Angeles. Bernier, plus.
Oh what about Weber or Suter for Nash?

Crikey the Rangers seem unstoppable right now. All of the players are playing as a solid team and they just keep on getting great results. With a ten point cushion, they must be close to cementing a place in the Playoffs. I still can't imagine them making the Playoff final though, but maybe I'll be proven wrong.

The Rangers style is suited for play-off games I think. If Henrik plays like last night they sure can compete for the cup
