No problem Kris; let me try to explain
First off NCAA = United States College Hockey. The game cannot use real names for players and teams in leagues it doesn't have liscense to, and the NCAA will never grant SI liscense. So SI was forced to "fake" them in order to not get lawsuits.
To keep the game playing realistically though, as many NHL draft picks come through the US College system, they put the real players on the teams anyhow. They had to however give them "faked" names. So, Jack Johnson might become Steve Rockport and University of Wisconsin Badgers becomes Wisconsin U.
So with a mess of work and research as D88 has done here; you can piece together a realistic NCAA in the game with actual team names and actual player names. All the players stats were researched to fit the players it's just their names that are "wrong" so giving them the proper names make them reflect the actual players just like the current NHL does. That's what this project does. It is also built upon the previous "unfaking" project which "made real" other leagues in the game that "faked" in the game.
It doesn't change stats or update player moves, just "unfakes" the US Colleges and their players for better in-game realism

Ah, thank you.
But to install it, I have to overwrite the database I use and will lose my own transfers i.e. Tverdovsky to Rangers?
Or has it nothing to do with the actual database?
Sorry if I'm stupid
If I should try to read ALL sometime... Thank you for explaining, now everything is crystal!
EDIT: This WILL erase all my own transfers. Are the NHL up-to-date, with Doug Weight in Carolina etc? Because I only play in NHL and I don't want to lose my transferdeadline-changes.

Yes, this would be a new database; however if you set up transfers via the config file if you use that config file not the one with this database it will still do your transfers.
If you edited a database using the editor then you would lose those changes by replacing that database with this one.

I used the editor... Bummer, I really would like to play with this but don't want to lose my changes =/

Good to see someone updating the unfaked DB. Only thing I can nag about is that you didn't unfake the college coaches. I know they are really hard to figure who is who, but I'm working on it.
Is it against the unfaking policy to move guys from team to another. I'v unfaked some coaches that I'v figured out and done these moves so far. Only ones that exist in real life too. I didn't edit a single attribute on guys like Richter who now works as a goaltending coach.
Red Gendron to UMass (c)
Brett Draney to Grenoble (p)
Eric Rudd to St. Cloud (c)
Jim Montgomery to Notre Dame (c)
Mike Richter to Yale (c)
Bobby Jay to Harvard (c)
Craig Anderson to Chicago Blackhawks (p) (also draft information fixed)
(c) = coach and (p) = player
Competition names unfaked to their real counterparts, including US minor collegiate leagues and their teams.
Some colour fixes to team colours, Utah Grizzles to green\brownish gold\white, Herhsey to more brownish shade of red, Peoria to St. Louis Blues colours (removed red as in real life) and Cleveland to more tealish look similar to Sharks instead of the weird green. SM-Liiga to blue and silver look while Mestis gets an amber outline.
Some arena names/capacities fixed assigned to correct teams, mostly conserning Finnish teams.
Patric Hörnqvist duplicate issue fixed.

Do you update the Swedish leagues too? Or just the NHL?

What do you mean?
The NCAA update only unfakes the college players additionally. I'v just unfaked some of the coaches that coach in the college leagues. I also changed the college league names to the correct ones, some smaller college names corrected and Czech National league level team names corrected.
There is no need to "unfaked NHL or Swedish leagues". There is no stats changed or anything, only stuff like names, birth dates, places and draft informantion etc.

Will this be updated for EHM 2007. I love college hockey and it would help getting into the season.

That was sooooooo wrong! You got me all excited. I thought they already had this stuff done for the new game when I saw this long dead thread pop up.

I edited the thread title for ya

this is of course on the priority list for 07 but will have to wait until after the October data update patch though.

That would make sense to wait. I haven't read anything about the October update. I'm assuming they're going to do all the roster moves to include players signed after the game came out and players that hadn't played up to that point and were put as RFAs in the game. Any word on if they're going to fix (ratings, positions, and all that) some players too?

I have no idea about specifics for the October update/patch actually, just what I've gleaned from different comments on the SI forum. With waiting until the first week or so of the season has gone by obviously a big portion of the NHLPA agreement is that no players can be placed on NHL teams in video games until they have played their first game in the NHL so it seems they will get those players onto NHL rosters when the players have cleared that one game hurdle.
I don't know what else they have planned but due to the amount of time it takes to do translations for in-game text like last year the first major patch will probably include additional language options as well they've mentioned that as well.

Check the thread on the TBL:DB. It is coming soon from TBL's Devils88.
There is also an unfaking that you can look for at SI forums,I believe the site for it is EastsideUK, but not sure. To my knowledge it is based on an old version of the original data base. (1st one, not last released patch)
It has also changed attributes (at least the newest version of it) apparently, and noone knows which attributes for which players have been changed.
TBL:DB will be released sometime in the coming weeks, or months. Not sure exactly. Davils88 has to make sure it is perfect before he will release it.

Which can, and probably will, cause errors in the game. ...Just a heads up.
