InStaaled The thing I have to ask is; why do you let your players go released or free agent

They are the value of your team; you need to get
something back for them! Picks, prospects, something

In my game I knew I'd deal Souray in the offseason due to concerns with his age, increasing tendancy to get hurt during games and his salary. But I mean jeez; ya have like five months before the next season so you sign them for the upcoming year knowing they're gone and you get their value back. Especially since Montreal gives you almost the full Cap to work under.
I knew I didn't want to take any players in the Souray deal; but most teams view him as a 4-star guy so you know you can get good value for him. I didn't get quite as much as I could have in deciding to not take roster players back but I got Philly to take him and the 2nd rounder of Anaheim and give me back their 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder and 7th rounder. I then used his salary to sign Kubina as an FA and the picks went to toward strengthening my farm. Even if those players never "make it" they'll hold trade value at least.
Only the computer and Chicago lets star players walk for nothing

Nobody wanted him
That was the most I could get for Souray from any team. Must have been that knee injury that required surgery at the end of the season
I also got the most I could for Jagr. He was a 1 star for every team.
I dunno what I'm doing wrong but nobody wants my players

Okay, wait... instead of your in/out can you post your trades? The others are too confusing with the gaps I din't realize should have been picks; looked like you were just releasing people for nothing.

Oh..
Well..
After a 0-9-0 start I got fired
Nothing would work out how I wanted to.
Then Cole got injured in my fourth game, Koivu and Cullen in the fifth, Begin in the sixth, Armstrong out for the year in 7, Kovalev out for a month in game 8.

As you can see from the stats, my season #2 started well, but turned to be a bigger disaster than season #1. I'm not able to remember any more, how it all happened (and I'm not even going to try), but I'm beginning to believe it's all about my tactics. We had some injuries, but they won't explain all the poor games in our mid-season. I was really excited of my team before the season started and I still think it should be good. They just aren't playing well.
Here they are:
Cole - Koivu - Arnott
Zednik - Handzus - Ryder
Shelley - Gratton - Tucker
Louhi - Horcoff - Donovan
St.Jacques - Suchy
Mitchell - Dandenault
Alberts - Brad Brown
Bombardir
Theodore
Caron
These are just one of the few (hundred) different lines I've tried during the season. But nothing works. And here are my transfers during the season:

Well, maybe it's good my first challenge didn't go too well. I don't have so much pressure starting the next one. You bet I don't...

Guys you should post your trades pages instead of your In/Out transactions because the gaps that I assume are draft picks being empty makes the displays pretty much worthless...

or jsut take a screenshot, put hte screenie upin your Gallery and link to it; that's even easier imho.
Anyhow I've got to get to my assorted write ups this weekend... it's been a crazy week

I did post my 1-20 stats today though. Read 'em and weep:

Just thought I'd remind you about the next deadline
Montreal 3.2: First 60 games by 21st June

I should make that one but not sure if I'll have tiome to field a St. Lousy team though as in the exact opposite of most people we have more work stuff than ever in summer as we do a lot of student workshops and such and so many people come in from other towns to work/study here over summer too that it keeps us hoppin.
I love my Montreal second season team though; never had such a talented group in a Challenge before

I apologize for holding up the proceedings here; we had storms early last week that knocked out my DSL and fried my modem, so they had to send me a new one

I have gotten back up and running and got my stats in... sorry Calv. I know...
I had a kind of out of nowhere slump hit my team after probably (I haven't check for sure) one of the strongest statistical sections in Challenge history with my
Games 21-40 section which was an explosion especially for my usually more low scoring teams scoring 110 goals 16-3-1. The PP was out of control as well... anyhow a much more tame 12-5-3 games 41-60 had recently come around with the deadline coming up and some deals that resolved some odd issues I had ongoing with my team. Those would need a big writeup though as this was a very non-traditional team.
Coming off our Cup win in Season 1; including carrying three goalies... leading to Cap issues causing my team to then play with a 22 player NHL roster. This was mainly due to a
major FA bust signing in goal I couldn't/didn't want to deal with early on. Those goalies were integral to our "unexpected" slump... but GM Minty has resolved that now. Should be an interesting read when I get a chance to write it up.
Since I record directly here are my player numbers for 21-40 and 41-60:
21-40
30 Most Goals - Sully
35 Most Assists - Handzus
56 Most Points - Sully
28 Highest +/- - Witt
94 Most PIM - Pettinger
41-60
46 Most Goals - Sully
47 Most Assists - Handzus
85 Most Points - Sullivan
29 Highest +/- - Sullivan
120 Most PIM - Pettinger
