Only EHM 2007 format databases can be edited right now. So you need to download an EHM 2007 database (there is a 2007 version of the v7.3 rosters HERE) -> then edit using the Pre-Game Editor (HERE) -> then import into EHM:EA by following the guide in the first post of this thread.

You can place you EHM 2007 DB anywhere to edit it (e.g. just put it in a sub-folder on your Desktop). Then once you're done, move the DB to your data/database/ folder as described by the guide in the first post of this thread.

Did you create new teams and move them to the AHL? If so, you will need to use the 2006 rule set when importing into EHM:EA. The Import function looks for the original AHL teams in the DB and places them in the new AHL. So you will need to overwrite the existing AHL teams rather than place your new teams in the AHL.

Last month I asked Riz if we could have a command in the import_config so that we can override the Import function in respect of which teams move where. He said he'd look into it, so hopefully this is something that'll be possible in the future. In the mean time, we just have to use the existing AHL teams and edit those accordingly (note that team names are not hardcoded in EHM:EA and so you can rename the teams and leagues to whatever you want).

Yes, i deleted the file and tried to re-import, but the same issue persisted.

Your best bet is to move your EHM 2007 DB into a new sub-folder and import again (delete your previous subfolder).

Thanks, archi. That's good news. It was such a pain to have to keep the old teams, and make sure that the new teams were in the proper divisions. Anyway, I guess I'll just start the database over.

Oh, and I had used the league rules editor that (you?) made that allows you to change roster limits and such, to set the AHL to allow an unliminted amount of "Veteran" roster players. I assume I can't use that on EA, or can I?

Regarding the League Rules Editor (i.e. the Hardcode Editor): You're right about that - the Editor won't work with EA I'm afraid.

I am trying to start a new game in Easy Access with the TBL 7.3 roster update. I have downloaded the database and saved it to the right place, but when I select "Import Database" the "Database" field is blank and the "Location" field shows 'Application Folder'. There is no drop down menu in either field.

Any help in finding the database would be greatly appreciated.

The Swiss and British Leagues are currently not playable in EHM:EA, but the KHL is playable

A couple of questions after reading all this-

I have been working on for... about 5 years a 1972 database in EHM 2007. If I'm reading all of this correctly, I would have to go and find the original NHL/AHL/ECHL teams and then overwrite those instead of creating new teams to replace in the NHL etc. (Which is what I did). Are there any suggestions on how to go about this without major work? (Don't get me wrong, the custom start date alone and the potential gets me motivated... I was through about Pittsburgh or so in the NHL).

How does EA handle the future moves, retirements, minor league affiliations etc? Would I have to redo those? (Are those features even on in EA?)

It appears that the new EHM freezes guys until they are 14- so could you (in theory) create every single player up to 2015 and they would show up at 14? (I'm not sure that's even a good idea with regens, but trying to understand the lay of the land)

Soviet Union- can you add/change/activate nationalities such as this (my old/current plan is I simply am leaving no quality players with just fillers for the former Soviet republics)

Last one (sorry for a long list) I see the unfaking database isn't working yet- I would assume that the original EHM2007 database would import, but are there any out there that go back to 2006 that are working? (A bitter Pens fan here who really wants to see if I can use 71/87/29 without leaving the whole cupboard bare like our GM's did)

I'll just quickly respond to this part as I want to get back to working on the Updater this evening. Have you tried importing the DB using the 2006 structure? This should work fine (it worked fine when I tested it using Nino's 1974 DB). Some people have reported errors importing the 2006/07 Unfaking DB and so I can't say for sure you'll be successful, but it's worth a try and will only take you about 5 minutes to test - just copy the import_config.cfg file from the default fictional 2006 rosters but change the start date setting to 1972 (use Notepad to edit the file).

I will find the spreadsheet later on my old computer, but off the top of my head: I took the WHA to fill some of the teams, then the top WHL teams to fill the rest, and basically ranked up the minor leagues and filled each level that way. The UHL will be mostly sarcastic guys who will retire, such as the District 9 ducks, Mystery Eskimos, Charlestown Chiefs etc. The names will stick, but the guys from those movies will retire the first year.
The juniors: (Which wouldn't load in 2007 and I'm not sure which team caused the problem) I started with the 'major' leagues, and did the same thing (found the highest junior leagues in the region and filled teams in).
I have information on Europe and Russia, but haven't touched them yet, mostly from a lack of finding reliable information to know where to start. (Of course, I've been using the highest profile Europeans I can find to fill in players to keep Ukraine from having great players, etc.)

Thanks for the responses all, when I get time I'll try to import the database and see what happens. One of the big things I worked on (which gets interesting 20 years down the road) is having minor league affiliation change in the 'future', as outside of a few cases, about every 5 years a team changed their association. It also makes an interesting challenge when the WHA teams all have the first couple of years with affiliates like the Suncoast Suns, which only made the ECHL in my version. The only real problems with this that came up is with career minor leaguers resigning over and over again stay with the team they were first assigned, they don't change until they are called up (and in some cases, that's never).

Yes, you have to reimport the database

I´ve tried a couple of times to import the TBL database (both versions) into the game but it doesn´t work properly. I´m getting a lot of COMP_LEAGUE_(Division/conference etc) errors which breaks almost every league in the game.
Did the 15.3b update break something?

This is really annoying, I have tried everything to get my database imported (tried several times to import it, edited it in both editors, start the game as admin etc..) but it fails every time. I really want to start with a database with the new changes applied but that seems to be impossible for me...
