Which virtual machine did you use?
I used Virtual Box and it worked on there, though I've since swapped to using dual OSs with Boot Camp

Can I play EHM: EA on a MAC?

Yes but you'll need to use Wine or a Virtual Machine to do so. There's a thread about it on here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 17&t=13644

Mufred wrote:Hey, managed to get the game going on Mac via CrossOver (thanks for the topic that linked to that archibalduk!) and have managed to get the TBL rosters working, but can't get any graphic to work. I put the roster in: Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/Steam/drive_c/Program files/Steam/SteamApps/common/Eastside Hockey Manager/data/database and since that worked I put the graphics in the same place (but of course data/pictures and various under maps instead), but neither facepack, logos or backgrounds work. Anybody have a solution? Should they go some place else? I put them there since it worked for the rosters and in EHM07 they went in the same place, has that changed?

I'm having issues with the bolded on a Mac (terrible with computers). I can't see to find the folder linked above, nor can I right-click the game in the steam library as advised in the video. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks

EDIT: Apparently awful at this quoting thing too, its been too long, TBL!

I decided to throw together a pre-built Wineskin wrapper for the new EHM for anyone still having issues getting it to run under Crossover or Wine.

This wrapper includes a pre-installed Steam (though it's up to you log into your account) and an installed Wineskin engine that eliminates the random mouse click issue some Mac users have run into.

Steps for use:
1. Download and unzip the pre-built wrapper here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/367 ... anager.zip
2. Move the "Eastside Hockey Manager" app to your Applications folder through Finder.
3. Right-click on the program and select "Open". This is only necessary to do once, you can double-click it after the first run.
4. Wait for Steam to load and enter your username and password to login.
5. Download Eastside Hockey Manager through Steam. You can either purchase it here, on the website, or through the OS X client proper if you haven't already.
6. Enjoy!

Starting directly into EHM instead of Steam (optional):
1. Successfully run EHM through the wrapper at least once.
2. Right-click on "Eastside Hockey Manager" in Applications and select "Show Package Contents".
3. Double-click on "Wineskin".
4. Click on the "Advanced" button.
5. One the line it says "Windows EXE" (near the top), select "Browse".
6. Double-click on "Program Files", "Steam", "steamapps", "common", "Eastside Hockey Manager".
7. Click on "ehm.exe" and select "Choose".
8. Exit out of Wineskin and try running "Eastside Hockey Manager" again from your Applications folder in Finder. If successful, it should now load directly into EHM and keep steam in the background.

To get to the data folder to add logos, pictures, etc.:
1. Right click on the "Eastside Hockey Manager" app in Applications.
2. Select "Show Package Contents".
3. Select "drive_c", "Program Files", "Steam", "steamapps", "common", "Eastside Hockey Manager", "data".

I've been using this since release and it's been working wonderfully, so I thought I'd share a clean, untouched version with those wanting to use it on OSX.

As always, I can't predict how everyone's machine will handle the software, but I hope for most people it should be as easy as what you see above. I believe you need to be running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) or above, though I've only been able to test in on Yosemite.

Thank you so much Tealshark!
EDIT: I am having a bit of trouble with the 2014-15 TBL Rosters v7.3 EA. I have downloaded the zip file, then unzipped it. I copied the folder titled "2014-15 TBL Rosters v7.3 EA", then I pasted it into my Eastside Hockey Manager - drive_c - Program Files - Steam - steamapps - common - Eastside Hockey Manager - data - database. When I open EHM:EA, I go to "New Career Game". I then click the down arrow on "database", yet my only two options are 'Default' and 'Historical 2006'. Can anybody tell me what I have done wrong, or if it is just my computer?

Inside the "2014-15 TBL Rosters v7.3 EA" folder you downloaded is another folder called "TBL Rosters v7.3", that's the one you want to copy to the database folder instead. Give that a try and the rosters should show up the next time you restart the game.

Once again, thank you very much!

Nice! Thanks for sharing. =D>

This wrapper won't work for me because when I download the game from steam and attempt to launch the game from the steam library I get a "cpu does not meet minimum requirement streaming simd extensions" error. I tried resolving it myself and used winetricks to try different versions of directx and none of them worked. The 2013 one didn't give me an error but it didn't launch the game either.

I'm going to download the wrapper and try again. I'll let you know if it works.

Here's one for you guys, confused me.....

Working with Crossover on a mac.

When attempting to get the rosters into the right file, crossover didnt appear in the application support file, despite crossovers being in the application file on my computer....any ideas here?

Edit: Disregard, was trying to do it thou stream, not through the mac.

What the specs of your machine? I can't recreate it, but I might be able to simulate it in a virtual machine and try and find a fix.

EDIT: I have uploaded a second version with a different, newer engine which is supposed to have better CPU detection for modern machines. If you can, please give it a try and let me know if you still get the CPU error.

Wow, thanks a lot Teal.
I´ve tried your latest download and I was able to download and install the game. However, when I start it through steam the game itself "doesn´t show" even though I am apparently playing it (that´s what steam tells me in my profile - "you've been playing for 44 Minutes").
I´m getting really frustrated. Anyone who can help ? ](*,)

Hmmm, that's an interesting one that I haven't seen before. I'll do some testing with a clone of the download and see if I can replicate it.

Did you do the base install the still shows steam (the first steps) or did you also do the optional second part (that loads the game and hides steam)? I'll try my best to test as close to the same set up as you have going.

I´ve tried both. When I click on "play game" using steam it says "app is allready running". I can´t close it though since I have no access...

Wineskin is a little glitchy now and then. When you're done playing EHM and if you don't want the virtualized Steam running anymore, make sure you exit Steam from the little icon tray that appears (usually in the top left corner). Then, if you're having issues and want to make sure there isn't any EHM bits floating around, do the following:

1. Right click on the "Eastside Hockey Manager" app and select "Show Contents".
2. Double-click on "Wineskin".
3. Click on the "Tools" tab on the tab bar at the top.
4. Click on "Kill Wineskin Processes" and select "Yes" at the popup window.
5. Give it a few seconds and then close Wineskin.

This will clear your system of any lingering Wineskin or EHM threads that may have stuck around. This is usually only necessary if you're tinkering with Wineskin and starting and stopping the game frequently to test things, but can sometimes solve any weird issues you're having.

What's your year, make and model of Mac? I haven't been able to recreate the issue yet, but I have a wild theory and I'd like to set up a virtual machine to mirror your Mac as close as possible.

Under the newer wrapper I'm not longer getting the error on Steam but the game isn't launching either. Attempting to launch it again and it says the game is already running but it's not listed on the Task Manager. This is the same situation I had on the first launcher after I updated the DirectX on the wrapper manually. I assume something is broken with DirectX and compatibility?

I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) btw.
