This one is also a nice little cosmetic feature we got from OOTP 16:

On every player we show icons for every award they won throughout their career. So you always now how successful a player was.

Now age column seems to be where it should be and no more disrupt games, goals, assists, points columns sequence. Much easier to read stats :joy:

Thanks for listening to customers.

Our graphics guru Daniela is no fan of Team Colors in the GUI but even she has to admit that most people want it so we did a little graphic overhaul (and further cleaned the GUI in a few places) and now it looks like this.

Quick question: on the left behind the logo: nothing (like now) or some form of background?

I'm very happy with the new GUI and so far we got good feedback from the testers but of course we always want to improve SO if you have some time I would love to hear your points!

You remember the old days when you looked through players in FHM 2014 and wished that the transaction history would not be deleted after each season? In FHM 2 we don't delete it after each season, not after 2, 5 or 10 years but just keep it forever. And to make it even better, we added a nice little screen that has it in chronological order for you to check out. So now you can check out the career of your favorite player after he retired. :)

not really, just different strokes for different folks. Both are decent ways of playing a game and both have decent UI now. EHM is not windows based like that is, so it takes some getting used to it. But I now like how it works. FHM being windows based took no time at all, but the first version UI was all over the map. FHM2 appears better, but will wait and see what happens when it comes out. Maybe a click fest? Maybe a great UI

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer EHM's "look" over FHM by a HUGE amount

When I look at EHM screens with backgrounds (like these http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 13&t=13725) and then I look at the FHM2 screenshots for me EHM looks sleek, and modern, and very pleasing to my eye while FHM2 looks clunky, and old, and cartoony to me. The look of OOTP and FHM has always reminded me of the 1990s and some of the first sports simulation games (very "boxy" in style)

But what matters to me is gameplay! I didn't even realize when FHM1 came out that they weren't actually simulating the actual hockey game. This was a huge problem for me and many/most others, and IIRC in January of 2014 those that purchased FHM1 were promised a new "Match Engine" patch that would actually simulate the games...I have to admit, I never thought I'd still be waiting for the patch in May 2015

I'm on the fence in terms of the UI of each game.... Huge fan of the "pop outs" and other interface features they've revealed so far. What will ultimately determine which game I sink more time into will be realism of simulation and bugs.

All about game engine simulation and realism for me as well. I like the new FHM UI except for the cartoony player displayed. Whichever engine becomes most advanced, that would be my pick like most sport simulation enthusiast !

I'm really sorry for the FHM developers that I have to say this but no matter how good the game looks I'm not really interested anymore after all the fiasco. I purchased the beta of FHM the very first day it was available in March 4th 2013. To this day I did not complete one full season. Add to that unfulfilled promises of a match engine patch for over a year. If FHM2 is offered to previous users for a symbolic fee, I may or may not consider it. I feel trolled by the developers, we were forced an unplayable game. The original freeware EHM is a superior game which I had a lot of fun playing and that was over 10 years ago, never mind NHL EHM, NHL EHM 2005 and NHL EHM 2007.

I try to answer the rest in one post:

1. GUI
Of course the look of a GUI is mostly personal taste, some will like both, some our, some EHM some neither. I'm really happy how the FHM 2 look evolved and think it is a big step up from FHM 1.

2. GUI usability
Again, I think this is mostly about the time someone uses with a game. In FHM 1 we used the OOTP system and learned, that it does not work for us. Our goal with FHM 2 was to drastically improve the usability of the GUI and I think we did a great job with it. A big thanks goes out to Colin, who had the initial idea and all other researchers, who did a great job on feedback we used to fine tune it over time.

3. Player Pic
The default pic will be gone in the final version. We use FaceGen now, we just fine tune the FaceGen output at the moment.

4. Match Engine
I will not go into much detail here other then to admit that it was a bad idea to promise a new Match Engine as a patch but it is what it is and we learned from it. The old Match Engine was not bad, a pure simulation engine (not sure what the exact word is, it produces good stats but does not display the game flow at all). The new Engine now simulates every second of the game with everything you need to know from the engine: where exactly is the puck, where are all players, puck movement, etc..

We got some feedback on the player history (mostly about the missing trade info) and now store trades. That way we can display the trade info now.

As a hockey fan, I'm super excited for this game. Ehm:ea was my first hockey sim game ever, and hopefully this becomes my second. Looks really promising, and I like being able to play the same concept put together in different ways. New looks are always refreshing.

I was kinda feeling this way as well for awhile tbh. I was a roster researcher and tester for a while during FHM14 beta but the entire experience was very exhausting and I had to walk away from it.

With that being said, Sebastian does seem to be putting some work into this game and I have high hopes for it. I like what I have seen in this thread so far, however; we need more information regarding the important aspects of a sports sim: match engine, game stability after playing 1 season, 5 seasons, 20 seasons, etc., roster updates on a regular basis, and lots of other stuff. I will admit I have not been over to the OOTP boards in a long time so maybe I am missing some of this stuff but I don't recall seeing any important information for FHM14 even after it released.

I am hoping both this game and EHM: EA are very successful and I get my hockey fix for years to come. Thanks to both companies and all the people involved in (hopefully) making this happen.

Sounds like FHM 2 is delayed by a couple of months: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/f ... ost3876140

So much for being right on time. Is it a couple months though? I can't really tell by what he's saying. I'm just going by the assumption that we really don't know anything about FHM2 at all.

There essentially was not any information there at all. What are the major and minor features? Does anybody even know? Can anybody say? We've seen screen shots but we have not gotten a single word about what is under the hood. Its like seeing a picture of a car and saying, "What kind of engine is under the hood?" "We will tell you when its released." "Does the car have a CD player?" "We will tell you when its released." "Does it have seat belts?" "We will tell you when its released." "Can we test drive it?" "No.. no test drives are offered. You'll have to take your chances with it when we decide to sell it based on what WE tell you about it or by the word of the community who buys it."

Secondly with all of these features done, what does that say about the status of the FHM 14 patch? If everything is done except for the features that are listed which are not features offered in FHM14 then why hasn't the patch dropped yet?
