I had a crash when trying to change tactics before a game once...but since this crash,i can do it the way i want without problem...

Bad point: in my Danish league game,i often see players who stand with the puck back of their net in the end of a period...and then they don't move! and nobody makes any pressure on the guy! in fact,no one moves...and sometimes it's like this during 2 minutes, even if the player's team is trailing in the game... :-? Hope it'll soon be fixed...

But in every other way, this game is really great! nice job!

I love the tactics. I'm winning all my games 7-2, 4-1 and the like.

I still can't stand the practice screen. It's really takeing alot of the fun out for me. It takes way to long to adjust anything, and even then all the schedules look the EXACT same when scrolling through quickly, so I constantly have players on the wrong schedule.

Please share some of your secrets for setting tactics! I'm sure there are many of us that could use the help.

I see where you're coming from on the practice screen. I rest guys after games if they're at less than 90% and I'm always forgetting to put them back on a training schedule. I'm kind of surprised there isn't an easier way to get to this screen as well.

I know I just posted but I just played another game and got pounded. GRRRRR! These tactics are getting me mad! I read the manual and adjusted the tactics the way I would figure it would be best. I'm getting tons of penalties (22 PIMs vs their 12 PIMs in this last game) which of course gives my opponent lots of PPs (8 vs my 3). I'm also not getting shots despite my wingers having their shooting set to barrage. In this last game (and it wasn't against a good team) they had 48 shots and we had 18.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can resolve this?

When doing the Fantasy Draft, if you decide to filter the players shown in the list, it will show you players already drafted. Then allow you to pick them, loseing your turn.

For instance, I wanted to only see Russian Center's to play on a line with Ovechking. I goto the filter options and set 'Russian' and 'Forward'.

It shows me Malkin is still available.

I click draft, select his name and I'm told I have seleted him.

Next round rolls by, and I realize from the 'my team' screen that Malkin is not listed. I look back through the history, and Malkin was slected 3rd overall, wayyy before I hadpicked him.

So in essance, I lost my 2nd round pick because the game let me draft someone who was already picked!
Had a problem simular to yours, except it seems that you can select any player regardless of other teams already having them selected!. Tested it, ended up with a payroll of 136 million and basicly nothing, but all star players on the team!. Only tried once coz I am busy playing a new game with the caps :), but someone else mind trying to test it?.

I really don't know what to tell ya. :dunno: I've played hockey all my life and have been coached by a few staff in the game, it just comes naturally to me setting up lines with a specific purpose and giving them the proper tactics go through with it. Perhaps I will write up a guide explaining what all the different tactics do... not this week though. Having too much fun. :-D

Ok, just getting to posting my first thoughts about the game. I don't have a very in depth knowledge of hockey but do know the basics. This slows down my play when I first start as I try to figure out what will work for my team (starting with the Bruins). But then that's also what I love about ehm. It gives me the feeling that I am building something and not just throwing out the highest rated players but finding the combinations of skills between them that will lead to winning hockey games.

So despite having the game since yesterday afternoon I just watched my first 2d match. All I can say is I was blown away. I can't wait to see what it looks like with team logos at center ice.
No more of the continuous "skish-skish" skating sound and herky jerky movement

I did my own tactics in 2005 and had a winning record with the B's but then I still had Joe. This year looks to be more of a challenge but I am looking forward to it. The tactics screen seems so much more in depth and it may take my "limited knowledge :-? " hockey mind awhile to grasp everything that is in there. But I learned it for FM knowing much less about football than hockey so I will eventually succeed ;)

I hate the drop downs on the practice schedule ](*,) , the button ticks were so much easier to use. I enjoyed taking care of practice in 2005 and while I'll still do it in 2007 it will be a pain when I think how easy it could have been. I did input my practice schedule from 2005 and in my very small sample it appears players are tiring faster. Of course this could be because it's still preseason and the guys haven't built up their strength yet. It's something I'll keep a close eye on.

The one bug(?) I've seen and reported at SI is in the note taking. I can make a note but can't set a reminder date. The drop down options and L\ R arrows flash when I mouse over them and are unclickable. Nobody at SI responded to my report (understandable they are busy and can't respond to everything but I assume they have read it) and am curious if anyone here has seen this?

So back off to my slow playing style, some of you guys will have your first cup before I get through the first month of the regular season :-)

Unlikely, I'll probably restart 5-6 times before I find a team I'm happy with. :-D

A couple more things I've noticed:

- When you sort the player statistics for rookie skaters, players such as Eric Staal, Jason Spezza, Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin appear. There are more, I'm just lazy.

- You can actually go to your tactics screen at any time during the game without waiting.

Somehow I doubt I'll win anything in that time. Certainly not with the Bruins or Manchester Phoenix :-D

If you ever get the chance to write something up like that, it would be a great resource to everyone on TBL. I totally understand you having fun just playing right now though!

Yeah I agree. i reckon it would be muuch of a help to me. As I don't really know too much into it. As I assume the whole tactic side of things are more a less the same as 05.

See ya!

Underrated¿¿¿???

Dont know, but 22 points in 13 games with only one game missing to be in the scoresheet doesnt sond underrated to me :dunno:

What did u expect from him??? Having 30 goals and 25 assists in 13 games??

I dont have his rating in my mind right now, but I think (seeing his numbers) that there are other players who are a lot more underrated than him (Bergeron and Boyes, for example)...

Anyway, I dont bother about the missing player pictures and the roster upgrades because Iam sure that is gonna be fixed really soon in a patch (at least I hope so, lol)

Minty will be happy to know that his boy Balastik is still good. :-D

He was put on the block and I couldn't resist!

I also got Madden and Brylin from the Devils for a 5th and 6th because they needed to trim salary.

Here is my first impression of the game.

It's look much more better than EHM 2005. The design have a better 2006 look (we need still time to know here all things are, but that's ok). I have not see 2D game right now (I have mostly looking sections), but I'm pretty sure than I will love it (if I will watch games...)

Do any one of you have finish their first season? How look the Trophy Ceremony? The Draft? And do you have see the arbritation section?

I have start 3 games : one with Habs and 2 unemployed... Both unemployed, it takes me 2 days before have been hired by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL).

I don't know if you you have notice... but some options in contract negociation are missing... the choise of adding an optional season (both option to me and the player). I always using this option in EHM 2005. guys they are number 21-22-23 in my team, I always give them a year contract with on more year in my option.

Before the release of the game, I was thinking of start right now my real carrer (after having buy the game)... but I change my mind. I will wait until the unfake database... I want Kyle Chipchura be real... not fake.

I hate that there are no more Player/Team Option years as well as they were a nice little loophole in the contract system 8-) However, they were actually abolished in the latest CBA so we're lucky they weren't nixed earlier.

I'm using the Quebec Jr. league and I don't see trades mentioned anywhere. They don' make trades in that league or I am missing something?
