Espoo United is the name of the whole thing and also the name of the sports teams. That's what I've gathered.

Is it correct that some of the teams in the playable "Finnish Suomi Division" are amateur and this don't have a budget/can't pay salaries? https://www.reddit.com/r/EHM/comments/4 ... _salaries/

If I'd have to guess (not very familiar with the league) most, if not all of them are amateur. Some might have a few players who get payed (semi-pro), maybe, but most players have a day job.

In EHM it's a playable League with 4 Amateur clubs and 14 Semi-Pro clubs

Can't say if that is realistic or not. We have a team in my hometown and I find it hard to believe anyone in this town would be getting a paycheck for playing hockey.

...

Correction: had to google, but they are no longer in Suomi Sarja, they were relegated at some point.

The post on reddit indicates the user actually won and got promotion but still didn't get a budget HaHa
It's a bit confusing with multiple leagues with possible promotion/relegation that include Pro and Semi-Pro and Amateur (not something seen in NA)

Sounds like a potential "Challenge" - take an amateur team to the top! :-D

Not sure how much team budgets can be altered, but Espoo United has a budget of less than 100 000 euros in the game. While I don't know the real player budget, I've heard it is one of the top teams in the Mestis league, if not the top team. So at least somewhere around 500 000 would be more realistic. :-k

Thinking of buying EHM, but I would like to know is there "real players" in Finnish Suomi-Sarja? Could somebody give me a screenshot for example of Riemu's player values?

Thank you a lot!

Real players.
By the way we are seeking Finland-based researchers...

Another updated rosters, and yet again Finnish players are uncared for. How many years has it been when there was someone doing any research for Finland? And how much power has researcher have for player CA/PA points? Because Finland is practically unplayable as league, since all the players are trash and after 2 or 3 seasons there are teams with practically no Finnish players in them. How come mediocre AHL players have so high CA that when they are signed for Liiga they are practically superstars? When in reality it is HUGE lottery if even AHL 1st liners can keep up with Liiga standards.

I don't know what the real database average CA/PA are for the leagues, but Liiga should really be up there, and Finnish players should really be better than they are. (1. NHL - 2. KHL - 3. SHL/Liiga - 4. SHL/-Liiga - 5. AHL/NLA) But they are not. It feels like Liiga is one of the worst professional leagues in the game to play. And there are BIG mistakes all around the chart.

This is just a glimpse of the issues, but I have listed some players that.. I seriously just don't know..

Great examples of some of the current seasons top scorers

- Antti Suomela 23yo, last 3 seasons 148gp 106 points (48g/58a) CA 52 PA -12 https://gyazo.com/213236d4343720b556b2420304892e06
- Mikael Ruohomaa 29yo, last 3 seasons 117gp 83 points (27g/56a) CA 90 PA 95 https://gyazo.com/ae6aeac716bd8ec116ec304158442885
- Iikka Kangasniemi 22yo, last 3 seasons 123gp 84 points (32g/52a) CA 67 PA -13 https://gyazo.com/2c53129c457fb3c42a95b21dc5ab58a1

Great examples of some defenders who are currently on the level to play for Team Finland in EHT or even WC

- Mikko Lehtonen 23yo, last 3 seasons 150gp 66points (25g/41a) CA 86 PA -5 https://gyazo.com/09a14c07fe916796ec7cdd31bafb9d30
- Niko Mikkola 21yo, last 3 seasons 141gp 31 points (7g/24a) CA 70 PA -13 https://gyazo.com/e068cda27386f9c88abb4bf2f867fb6e
- Juuso Riikola 23yo, last 3 seasons 148gp 55 points (16g/39a) CA 85 PA -6 https://gyazo.com/0a78116530fca23dd7f34d81e1d6ced5

Great examples of some goalkeepers that are good goalies for most Liiga teams
- Kaapo Kähkönen 20yo, last 3 seasons 99gp 92% 2,39 GAA (33 wins) CA 80 PA -6 https://gyazo.com/bfc864d32b459510b84dd8c442647ec1
- Emil Larmi 20yo, last 2 seasons 70gp 91,54% 2,16 GAA (26 wins) CA 51 PA -12 https://gyazo.com/4a524d5e1c5dbd2a24d2898f5bff2c80
- Veini Vehviläinen 20yo, last 3 seasons 73gp 92,52% 1,96 GAA (35 wins) CA 84 PA -13 https://gyazo.com/12f616bd7e752f9b6ca6acf7b7bd3479

And I'm not even trying to tackle on the issue about Finnish coaches etc. There are just so many issues.

I want to know how database creators sees Liiga players? Because this is how I see it.

130 - Top players
120 - First liners/1st pair defenders/#1 goalies
110 - Second liners/2nd pair defenders/borderline #1 goalies D
100 - Third liners/3rd pair defenders/ #2 goalies
90 - Fourth liners/7th defenders

Sure, some of the bottom teams shouldn't have players that are better than borderline second line-third line players for the top teams, but I just cant stand it how trashy Liiga is currently. Every time Finnish players are dropping to the lower leagues because there are so many AHL players or retired NHL enforcers that are coming to Europe and are dominating with their CA. I hate it. I know I'm repeating myself but Liiga is borderline unplayable at the moment.

I don't know who was the last one who researched Liiga.

We did new standards for all leagues CA a year or two ago, I think we ended up with 80-130 CA for Liiga.

If no one has researched Liiga in a long time those players has probably CA from when they played in their youth teams/Mestis etc.

You could volunteer for Liiga researching and help getting that league fixed. ;)

Does TBL have official Discord channel?

And yes, I might be interested to help with Liiga ratings. I just want to know how much does the researcher have to say about the ratings, how much would the players change in the final version of the database after I have rated them?

I have some friends that are also interested joining me to research and rate Finnish players.

No I'm afraid we don't. Communication is usually via our Research Forum (to which we give researchers access). This is preferred over email and PM because it allows experienced researchers to respond rather that it resting just on Manimal.

That would be great. We leave it to researchers to rate the players - so you can have as much of a say as possible. The only restriction is that ratings should fall within the guideline ranges for the league in question (we have a table of ranges in the Research Forum). Manimal will check that the ratings generally appear within the expected range (i.e. to check that there are not players who appear to have overly high or low ratings) - but that is the extent of the restrictions/controls. Obviously there are exceptions to the general guidelines and a player might deserve higher or lower ratings than the guidelines allow - we assess that on a player by player basis.
