With regard to a couple of young Colorado players. I notice that neither Tyson Jost nor JT Compher are listed as playing center. Both players are primarily considered centers in Colorado. Compher played center the majority of his time in the AHL and both played center the majority of their short stints in the NHL.

You're still looking at the 16/17 NHL rosters. My newest NHL work hasn't been implemented yet. But I'll make sure they'll be Center's.

Any idea when the roster players attributes will be updated. I completely understand how much work is put into it and I appreciate this.

Don't know if this should be posted here, but the schedule for new beta 17/18 roster is wrong for Vancouver Canucks (probably for a lot of other NHL team as well). On 3 occasions the Canucks will play 3 games in a row and a 15 day break in February.

The Olympics are hardcoded so we are forced to use a different schedule. I'll try to get rid of those 3-game streaks.

The TBL DB will have updated NHL ratings (and a lot more). It'll be out as usual at around NHL opening night.

Mike Cammaleri still has his 5.6 million dollar contract, making LA 11m over the cap on day one

I think my comment was lost in the shuffle, or someone can transfer me over to the right forum, but how does one help with the database? Is it just researching up leagues that you already know of? Or using sources like EliteProspects to help build rosters? I would like to help, in some way possible. Not sure how to use Excel though

If you can't use Excel, then there are free options like LibreOffice Calc that works just as well.
We prefer the researchers edit a league they know of, but updating rosters from EliteProspects is also helpful.

when I try to continue the game afterwards it crashes.
Did someone experience the same, what can i do to solve this issue? I don´t won´t to lose my save game because it´s a lot of fun.
I´m running the latest patch and no problems occured during my save before.

In the same vein, Plekanec (from Montreal Canadiens) has an NTC in his contract in the DB. However, Plekanec doesn't have one in real life.

I am having difficulties unpacking the .rar file, is there a certain program that would help with this? Because my usual unzipper/unpacking program doesn't seem to be right.

Winrar or winzip should work.

Here's my flames bias, but its still my comments on the way Calgary and its subs are portraited in this. (These are only on prospects I have seen visible att change, meaning someone actually looked at them and I have a right to complain!)
1. Tyler Parsons is severely lacking in one of the most important goalie attributes, anticipation, and I don't get it. He is poised with real NHL potential IRL, and since anticipation will not go from 6 to an at least acceptable 12, this makes him useless. The kid won the World Juniors AND the Memorial cup. Why is he so bad in game? (He had more anticipation last roster!) (His recovery is also pretty darn low)
2. Adam Fox has 6 Stamina, making him 100% useless, unlike the prospect he actually is IRL. But at the same time, you over rate his technicals severely. He's 19! Let him grow into it.
3. Matthew Philips is 5'7", not 5'6", and it seems unfair that you give 5'7 Zuccarello 10 Strength but give 5'7 Philips 1, I assume because of his size, but that's contradictory.
4. Flames pick Valimaki has quite bad metals, leaving him a lot of need to grow, while I don't think prospects grow like that.

At the top of this page CJ notes that the NHL hasn't been updated yet...

Im talking about prospects i've seen visible changes on. Adam Fox and Parsons have different atts than previous rosters. So I assumed I was in the right to complain.

Fair enough...I'm just saying the guy in charge of the TBL Rosters (Alessandro/initial post) and the guy who does the NHL (CJ) both say the NHL hasn't been updated
I think all NHL contracted players that CJ does will be fine when the 2017-18 database is released.
Regarding the Fox/Parsons Attributes
- In the beta database Parsons has "0" for all his Attributes (except for Strength and Pass Tendency), so I don't think Parsons has had his Attributes updated
- Fox has a 95 CA (so an average Attribute value of 10 would be appropriate), but the Attributes the player has been given are way to high for a 95 CA (the 9 of 14 Technicals that aren't 0 average 13.9 - they average that of a player with a 160-170 CA.....the 8 of 16 Mental Attributes that aren't 0 average 15.5 - they average that of a player with a CA over 180.....the 6 of 8 Physical Attributes average 11; the Stamina [6] and Strength [6] values are definitely extremely low); I'm not sure if Fox has been updated, but looking at him in the Editor I do think his CA and Attributes don't match well
- I noticed when the new EHM first came out that the game itself would change Attribute values...one can't just edit any way they want.
When I looked into things I found all but CJ saw significant changes to their edited work (a recent example: in the Vegas DB a player who had his Attributes increased by 35 points in the Vegas database had 28 of those points removed by the game at startup http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showt ... t134382211)...I suspect that's what's happening with Fox, the game is changing his Attributes more befitting of a 95 CA player

Regarding editing; to whomever may find it helpful and/or interesting.....
I think there's a number of factors that are important in editing (and determining what value to give for an Attribute)
- the CA (correct for the player quality level relative to his League)
- the average Attribute value for the CA (as determined by the CA)
- the Player Role and whether the Attribute is Key, Essential, Non-Essential or Irrelevant (typically Key/Essential Attributes should be above-at-or near the "average Attribute value" for the CA of the player)
- what specific Attribute it is being looked & how old the player is.......some Attributes never change, some rarely change and/or change very little, and some Attributes change/develop "normally" (they develop/grow the most over time from their teens to their mid/later 20s). These two things will determine how much one expects an Attribute to develop; some examples: as I recall skating Attributes will develop but moreso for teens/not much for adults & most Technical Attributes show the most growth and are the most connected to CA development & Mental Attributes often develop based on age/experience and aren't as connected to CA development (and IIRC they don't develop much...far less than most Technical Attributes)
IMO, when determining Attribute values, these are the "EHM factors" that IMO must be considered along with the "hockey knowledge" about a player (and these EHM factors are what I'm referencing when I say one can't just edit any way they want)
- Also.....EHM seems to work best when all Attributes are inputted; when Attributes have a value of "0" the game doesn't always make the best/most realistic decisions (Non-Essential/Irrelevant Attributes can be given unrealistically low values) nor does the game effectively fix Attributes that have been inputted outside of acceptable ranges for the CA/Player Role - it's LOTS of work to do I know! But fully inputted Attributes, with "0" not used at all, is the ideal and it seems to give the best results
I've posted details previously...

1. NHL/AHL players are still WIP.
2. I have balanced him up a bit.
3. Philips did have a lot of zeros. I have balanced him up a bit too. I have updated his size too.
4. The same.
Thank you for your feedback. A lot of players do have a lot of random attributes so they may fluctuate wildly from one save to another.
