I have wondered the same thing myself, but your reason seems pretty good. If teams only are allowed 4 foreigners, then danish players won't be good enough most of the time.

That, and it is probably just easier to go to Sweden or Germany with the language (esspecially in Sweden).

There are alot of finnish players in Denmark though - most with Mestis experience, but also some who have played in the SM-League.

We've had a few players born here and play in the NHL, but I don't think we've had a born and bred player make it, and if I'm honest I don't think we will in the near future either
