Good idea to darken the first round logos so we see better the second round  Would it be possible to also darken the first round scores? I think it may improve the second round visibility :dunno:

Ladies and Gents - here it is - automatic updating of the ADM Playoff Wallpaper!

Each day, I'll be submitting my updated link to Archi rather than posting it in this thread as I have been doing. Archi will then (very generously!) update the BG every day at THIS link: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/pa ... lpaper.jpg

So here you go Shadd - a guide on how to set up an automatically updating background! (Thanks again Archi!)

Setting up your Active Desktop

NOTE: This is only suitable for those with a 1024x768 display. Those with larger resolutions are advised to use the standard download method.

1) Right-click on the Desktop and click on 'Properties' to display your Display Properties.

2) Click on the 'Desktop' tab and then on the 'Customise' button:

Image

3) This will display the 'Desktop Icons' window. Click on the 'Web' tab and then click on the 'New' button:

Image

4) In the 'New Desktop Icon' window, enter one of the following (choose which one best suits your screen resolution) in the 'Location' box and then click on 'OK':

1024x768 Version: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/pa ... lpaper.jpg
1280x1024 Version: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/pa ... er1280.jpg

Image

5) When the 'Add Item to Active Desktop" window pops-up, click on 'OK':

Image

6) When it has finished processing, you will be returned to the 'New Desktop Icon' window. Click on 'OK' in this window:

Image

7) You will then be returned to the 'Display Properties, window. Click on 'OK':

Image

8) The ADM Wallpaper will be visible in the bottom right quarter of your screen. If you move your mouse pointer to the top left hand corner of the ADM Wallpaper, a grey/brown border will appear with a black triangle at the top. Click on the black triangle and then click on 'Cover Desktop':

Image

You will then have the ADM Playoff Wallpaper that will automatically update itself!

If the wallpaper fails to automatically update, you can manually update it by going back to the 'Desktop Items' window (follow steps 1 and 2 above) and then highlighting the line that says "http://www.ehmtheblueline.com..." and then clicking on 'Synchronise'. Then click on the 'OK' buttons once again to apply the changes:

Cheers and enjoy the playoffs from After Dark Multimedia!

hmm just tried the automatic updating one, but the quality seems to be worse than if I just manually download it. The logos go all jagged :-?

What resolution is your display?

1280*1024

It might be because it has to stretch the image from 1024x768 to your screen's resolution. I'm guessing that the way Windows stretches it for Active Desktop is different to the way it would stretch it for a standard desktop wallpaper and so that's why the Active Desktop one looks jagged.

I've got the same size display Calv. I've got the same problem with pixellation when using the Active Desktop. I didn't design the file in a larger resolution to save file size for most people who don't have a massive LCD monitor like we do. :)

Unfortunetly, I don't think there is anything that can be done about it - other than re-designing in a higher resolution. :thdn:

*EDIT* I just checked it on my girlfriend's laptop at a much lower resolution - looks great! So that is definitely the problem - the file can't handle our screens! Thanks for the help Archi!

Should we maybe add a line to the download page about this wallpaper being designed for a maximum resolution of 1024x768 to save other people the confusion?
