Rico Fata is not in the WAS System anymore and has a Contract with Mannheim til 2009. (including an NHL Release Clause)
he was put on waivers in the middle of last season and had do re-enter waivers if he would have been called to the nhl back again. that's why he left for mannheim, and don't wants to play ahl)..so i think he is an UFA.

BTW: saw he was a nr.6 draft pick back in the late 90's
